Failure Date: 10/22/2001

Three year old son was able to shift vehicle out of park and caused vehicle to roll into house. Dealer/ manufacturer were not notified at this time. Feel free to provide any further information on this matter.

2 Automatic Transmission Park/neutral Start Switch problem of the 1996 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 08/02/1999

Vehicle was parked on a hill and the key was removed, the vehicle was then placed into a gear while off without key and rolled down hill. It was stopped with the emergency brake and placed back into park, all this was done while the vehicle was shut off. GMC has been contacted.

3 Automatic Transmission Park/neutral Start Switch problem of the 1997 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 06/01/1997

Transmission kicks at slow speeds not all the time, dealer changed computer module did not reslove the problem dealer would not garrantee transmission replacement, GMC asked about recalls but I did not receive a repy appears to be faulty trans electical part.

4 Automatic Transmission Park/neutral Start Switch problem of the 1997 GMC Sierra

When gears are shifted from first to second vehicle jerks, as if being rear ended. Dealer says there is a bad valve body in transmission. Dealer has seen vehicle 3 times. No solution found.
