While driving pulling a boat trailer truck lost all power doors started locking and unlocking continually,all gauges and warning lights come on truck lost power and cuts off loosing breaking and steering, radio resets , speakers not working. 2 Battery problem of the 2005 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 01/02/2007

- the contact owns a 2005 GMC Sierra hybrid truck. Two weeks ago while driving at 5 mph the vehicle's steering wheel and the brakes locked. The contact was able to drift to a stop. The vehicle also vibrated, and made a whistling sound. After several attempts the contact was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle's lost power at red lights; however, it restarted. The dealer stated that they did not have the parts to repair the vehicle, they were also waiting for a technician to diagnose the vehicle. The vehicle has been at the dealere for three weeks. The dealer also stated they didn't know where the parts were coming from, yet they've ordered the parts. The contact was currently renting a vehicle. There were no warning indicator lights present at the time of the incident. Two weeks prior to the failure, the contact's vehicle overheated and the warning indicator light appeared. The dealer replaced the water pump. The contact also spoke to gm and was told they would investigate the dealer. The contact thought there was a failure with the battery, it was defective and serviced under the warranty.

3 Battery problem of the 2002 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 10/10/2005

The contact owns a 2002 GMC Sierra. The contact was having a problem with the positive terminals on the batteries that are made by ac delco, these terminals corroded from the inside, causing them to fall off. The problem happened on October 10, 2005. The battery had been in the vehicle ever since date of purchase. The manufacturer of the vehicle as well as the manufacturer of the battery neither of them wanted to take responsibility for the problem. The contact went to have the battery replaced, and the mechanic told him that he had twelve more of the same batteries si with the same problem.

4 Battery problem of the 2005 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 09/21/2005

When listening to the radio only in accessory mode for approx. 2-4 hours the battery is drained without warning to the point that the truck will not start, the onstar goes dead -we are unable to summon help if needed, and the radio goes completely dead. We have had the vehicle to the dealership and was given a bulliten from gm (document id# 1689523). General motors customer service is working with us, but the dealership claims that there is no way to fix the problem. The truck has approximately 3600 miles on the odometer, when purchased in June the truck had approximately 590 miles.

Factory installed delco battery started to leak battery acid from positive terminal.

9 Battery problem of the 1996 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 11/01/1998

Battery acid leaked on the brake line. The acid ate through the brake line, causing brake fluid leakage. Driver experienced complete brake failure when this happened. The vehicle was towed to the dealership. The brake lines were replaced under warranty.

10 Battery problem of the 1999 GMC Sierra

Vehicle was moving and had to place foot on brakes to stop. Abs pump had malfunctioned and failed to stop vehicle right away. Had to unplug pump due to wearing out of battery. Do not have any abs braking features.
