The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 24v894000 (latches/locks/linkages); and the vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the recall repair was performed; however, the contact became aware that the battery was draining, and the vehicle failed to start on more than one occasion. The contact stated that the check engine warning light remained illuminated. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 41,000.

2 12v/24v/48v Battery problem of the 2024 GMC Sierra 2500

Failure Date: 09/01/2024

The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated that the vehicle would not not immediately start and had also experienced electrical malfunctions which caused multiple unknown warning lights to display and flash including the seat restraint warning and the abs and air bag warnings. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the two batteries located under the hood were faulty and needed to be replaced. Both batteries were replaced and the failure was remedied. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 40,000.
