Odometer fraud. The contact purchased a 2022 GMC Sierra 2500. It was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 92,000, and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 98,325. The carfax report was not available at the time of purchase. The mileage discrepancy was later identified through the vehicle manufacturer’s mobile app.

Odometer fraud. The contact considered purchasing a 2007 GMC Sierra 2500 from a local dealer. The contact stated that vehicle mileage was listed as 159,000, but the carfax report listed the mileage as 400,000.

The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 166,521 and while researching online, it was discovered that the mileage was 207,759.

The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 189,458 and the contact stated he discovered on carfax that mileage was 188,052; however, the contact discovered that the mileage was 112,708.
