74,000 miles on the odometer and loud ticking noise coming from the engine on the left side. After doing my research and taking it to the dealership hamby in perry, GA they said I needed a new engine but I got a second opition it is the afm lifters a camshaft thats causing the noise gm needs to do a recall ASAP.
Started the motor in the morning noticed a light ticking noise come from the motor. Sounds like the lifters are tapping. The noise use to only be in the morning but now it is constant. Took it to a repair shop for a diagnosis was informed that the lifters are going bad!!!!! was told it was going to cost around 3000. 00 to fix the problem. After doing some research on the internet I could not believe how many other gm owners were having the same problem. Please investigate this problem and have a recall placed on these motors I think it is unfair that we have to pay out so much money to own a nice car just to have it turn into a big pile. My low millage car sounds like it has 200000 miles on it.
