Very hard/ stiff brake-pedal. It's very hard to stop the vehicle at any speed. I already replaced the brake pads and the problem still continues, is a very dangerous hazards to the drive the vehicle in that condition. The hard /stiff pedestal is in the city and the highway.

The contact owns a 2015 GMC Yukon xl. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and went to the floorboard. The contact stated that there was a vibration in the brake pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. Additionally, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the front driver's side brake pad disengaged. The contact inspected the brake reservoir bottle and noticed there was no brake fluid in the reservoir. The vehicle was taken to maggio Buick GMC (310 new roads st, new roads, la 70760), to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the front brake pads and ball joints needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 73,000.
After switching to passing lane and seeing traffic in lane at standstill I swiftly jammed on brake pedal. Brakes failed to provide adequate stopping ability as though they were coated with grease. Despite having well in excess of 100 ft the vehicle would not stop. Rear ended vehicle in front with about 12k in damage to front of the vehicle. Air bags did not deploy. Original rotors and pads were replaced after experiencing severe brake fading when hot prior to accident. Drilled and slotted racing rotors were installed. After the vehicle was repaired and placed back on the road, I tested with the same brakes with a hard stop from 80 mph. The brakes worked so well the force of the stop was pulling me off my seat. Several weeks later, I was cut off by another driver on the highway doing about 40mph less than I was. I jammed on the brakes and again there was insufficient braking like before except no collision. Once more I tested at a hard brake from 80 mph and again it stopped extremely well. Apparently the failure of sufficient braking came with application of abs system otherwise the stopping power was exceptional. I strongly urge investigation of gm abs braking. I am a professional driver with in excess of 4 million miles with all classes of vehicles in all extremes. The worst damage I ever had on the highway was a broken headlight in 1975 until this accident. The accident should not have happened as my reaction was timely and the distance to stop more than adequate. The air bags failed to deploy despite the entire nose of the vehicle being destroyed and pushed back to the engine block.

The contact owns a 2004 GMC Yukon denali xl. The contact stated that when the accelerator pedal was depressed during acceleration, the vehicle hesitated and the traction active warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the air filter failed and needed to be replaced, the bg fuel induction serviced needed to be done, the front brake pads and rotors failed and needed to be replaced, and the rear differential service needed to be done. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.

The contact owns a 2000 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that when traveling at a low rate of speed the vehicle would slide. The mechanic replaced the brake booster rotors and pads before the contact took the vehicle to the dealer. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer in order to have it inspected, and was told that the failure was with the anti-lock braking system. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in recall campaign number 05v379000, which was related to the anti-lock braking system. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 135000 and the current mileage was 150000.

The brakes make very loud noise. There is uneven pad wear and brake scoring. The vehicle has 3500 miles and is brand new condition. The dealer said such noise, pad wear and scoring is normal.

This vehicle has historically been bad for wear on discs and pads. I had just replaced the discs and pads once again, and was in an accident. I really think the problem was with the abs system and not the disc or pads.

: the contact stated while getting an oil change, it was noticed the brake fluid was low. The dealer determined the rear rotors and pads needed to be replaced. Updated 12/1/2006 - the rear brake were worn, pitted, and rusted.
When applying the brakes on my 2000 GMC Yukon xl I have experienced engagement of the anti-lock brakes and subsequent increased distance required to stop the vehicle. I have not had any accidents related to this problem. The described problem usually occurs at lower speeds, 25-40mph, and good road conditions (dry pavement). I have recently had maintance work preformed on this vehicle at the GMC dealership wheire I purchased the car. I reported the braking problem to the service managerand asked that the brake and anti-lock brake system be inspected. Prior to visual inspection of the brake system a test drive was completed in an attempt to duplicate the braking problem. I was informed that the "vibration: was due to a problem in the steering column and it did not pose any safety threat. I explained again that the "vibration" was not felt in the steering wheel but in the brake shoe while applying the brakes. The brakes were inspected and reported to have 80% wear on the front brake pads. The rear brake pads had been replaced about 9 months ago and still looked good. There was no reported problem with the anti-lock brakes. I requested to have the front brake pads replaced at that time. All maintance service with the exception of oil and filter changes has been done at the dealership where the vehicle was purchased.
Brake pedal effort is excessive, resulting in several near misses due to inability to stop rapidly. Have notified dealer(s) several times, and they have stated that brakes were okay. I personally feel that brake pads and/or rotors were too small for weight of the truck.
Parking brake will apply itself and will stay engaged until it decides to release, or until the pads and metal shoe is worn out or catches fire from the extreme heat , if you apply it , it may stay engaged and you won't know it , until it is to late to do anything about it, ,there are thousands of complaints online that has been reported to dealerships , and to gm but they have done nothing.

Had taken vehicle to dealer for brake service on front disc brakes due to wear on disc. Work after 15000 miles had to be performed again due to disk wearing out. Consumer believed that brakes were not heavy enough for vehicle. Disc warped causing vibrations and brake failure. The disc was turned a t 15k miles and was replaced at 28k. Transmission does not hold on hills. Front end was leaking due to front pinion seal failure . .

Basically consumer was having a problem with abs braking system. When applying brake pedal, pedal stuck and ruined rotors. Also, air conditioning went out three times due to a hole inside of vent area. Check engine light came on due to faulty harness. Transmission slips on acceleration. The engine runs rough at idle. Button on left front seat rattles. Right front outer brake pad was worn. Vehicle pulls left when applying brake.
Complained to dealer of soft brakes! dealer replaced brake pads which are still available for inspection. No wear or chatter problems. Brakes are so soft that they are dangerous. Dealer has been oblivious to complaints. All are like this!!!!!!!.
All four front brake pads was completely worn and damaged. The front rotors needed to be replaced and vehicle was under warranty but GMC insist that brakes were not part of warranty even though when I took vehicle into GMC dealership for inspection GMC dealer informed me that it was a known fact at GMC that the original brakes on the Yukon only lasted 10,000 to 17,000 miles. This information is not known to the consumer even though it is widely documented within GMC. This is a known hazard that should be disclosed and fixed via a vehicle recall by GMC. Instead GMC puts the expense of the repair on the consumer who is unfairly, and unreasonable caught off guards paying upwards of $35k for a new 1999 vehicle unaware that they will need to spend additional monies to replace the brakes every 10,000-17,000 miles. The dealer told me that the squeaking of my brakes is the only warning sign the vehicle gives the unsuspecting owner that the brakes have deteriorated. This condition is a safety hazard that will endanger lives and GMC should stand behind their vehicles and be held accountable for the brake repairs not the unsuspecting consumer who bought the vehicle in good faith and is now "stiffed with a bill" for costly repairs on a new vehicle 1999 that has by all standards has low mileage.
One of the four front brake pads was completely disintigrated and damaged. The front rotors needing to be replaced. GMC service center claims that the brakes are designed to break down within 20000 miles and this is normal. The brake pad failed completely and the front brakes would not operate properly or stop the vehicle. After lengthy discussion and many repeat calls the GMC representative went by the dealership and decided that it was indeed a faulty part. The claim by the service people was that GMC has changed out the brake pads to a softer compound and they will not last more than 20-25000 miles. The immediateness of the failure ( ie. The wear indicators did not work properly) may have been more dangerous if we would have been in a heavy traffic area.
Front/rear brake pads overheated/cracked, causing vibration upon braking; also, front rotors and drums warped, resulting in vehicle vibration upon braking.
