1 Brake Drum problem of the 2002 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 06/07/2005

On June 7, 2005 while driving 45 mph the consumer was following another car. There was a car in front of the consumer that slowed down the consumer attempted to slow down as well. The consumer pushed the brakes almost to the floor and it took longer than usual to stop. This almost caused the consumer's vehicle to hit the other car in the rear end. The consumer was shaken and went to a repair shop. The brakes were inspected by a mechanic. The mechanic determined that the rear brakes were rusted and needed to be replaced. The front brakes were fine. The rear brakes and drums were replaced. The consumer. Took the car to a gm dealership for the emergency brake repair. They replaced the emergency brakes . The dealership said there was nothing they could do about the brakes rusting. The consumer called gm and they said there was nothing they could do, and didn't know why the brakes went out. The consumer doid not know either. Has never had other problems with the brakes before or after this. The parking brake shoes were replaced.

2 Brake Drum problem of the 1997 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 03/01/1997

I am a meticulous driver. I have been through 2 sets of front rotors, 4 sets of front brake pads, and the rear brakes still look like new. The rear brakes do not work according to manufacturer bendix; many acquaintenances of mine have the same experience. I have contacted the bbb auto line many times and GMC many times; I am now ignored and GMC has warrantied none of these repairs. The braking distance is significantly increased because the front brakes are doing approx 90 percent of the stopping; problem is worse when the brakes are hot. P. S. I entered the VIN correctly but this page would not take it; I double checked. ????.
