Gasoline Fuel System Problems of GMC Yukon - part 2

Vehicle gets extremely low gas, 13 mpg on average. Burns oil . Need to add 2-3 quarts of oil between oil changes. Engine cooling fan stays on for extended periods while driving. All of which the dealership says is normal for the truck. They removed the driveshaft because of clunking at 25k mi. Reaction carrier replaced and transmission reconditioned at 36,663 mi after car stopped in the middle of the street. Car had to be towed in. At 62k miles engine light on and idles rough. Replaced throttle body. At 67k won't engage in reverse and makes klunking sound from reverse to drive. Replaced reverse housing, reaction shell, etc. At 75k had a reaction carrier failure, lost power brakes and lost power to the car. Almost was rear ended. Had to stop in middle of parking lot during christmas rush. Waited 5 min and restarted. Engine light stayed on, but was able to get to dealership. Was told that throttle body needs to be cleaned every 15k miles under service maintence. This was the first time I heard this! not really sure why it had to be cleaned, though, just had the throttle body replaced 13k miles ago. It seems that there are major flaws in the design of the engine. Obviously, the dealership has been putting band aids on my problem because they don't know how to fix. I have been very lucky that my family and children have not been in a major accident due to the major flaws in the engine designs. Every time I get my car fixed, the tech assures me that they have fixed the problem. I am really afraid to drive this car with so many close calls. The car is a hazard to drive!.

2001 Yukon transmission seal failed because of rough shifting, serpentine drive belt squeaks. Vehicle leaked fuel consumer had to get a ride home while fire dept cleaned up spill. A seal failed and coolant leaked into the transmission and destroyed it. The radiator seal failed. The head light lens was loose.

The contact owns a 2000 GMC Yukon denali. While driving 65 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled and shut off. The contact was able to pull the vehicle onto the shoulder and had it towed to the dealer. The fuel pressure pump and ecm were diagnosed as the causes of the failure. The dealer replaced the fuel delivery pump and fuses at the cost of $850. 26. A report was filed with the manufacturer. The manufacturer stated that the VIN was not included in the fuel system recall. However, if the recall happens to expand to include more vehicles, the contact could be reimbursed for the repair cost. The failure mileage was 78,374 and current mileage was 139,000.

My GMC Yukon xl has braking and fuel system problems, I have had 1 accident because of the Yukons brakes deactivating while hitting a small bump on the street while trying to avoid the accident. I have contacted GMC and all they said is they would offer me a 1,000 rebate on the next purchase of another vehicle, although they advertised this defective product on ("cnn") along with the other defects. There has been other hidden recalls on this vehicle and the manufacturer did not properly tell or notify me.

Driving 60 mph on a 20 mile bridge, the engine failed (engine light and traction control light were on. No power steering or power brakes. Nothing appeared to be overheated. 2 hrs later it started, 5 minutes later it killed again. Towed to nearest dealership. They road tested it and car failed again. Found 1 broken wire inside wire insulation. Repaired. Picked up car and it failed 1 mile later, took it back to dealership on "reduced engine power". They found 2 more broken wires. Replaced harness. One week later it happened again. After brief wait it started and ran for another day until I could get it to the dealership purchased from. They could not find anything wrong. Two weeks later it failed again. Tow truck took it to another dearlership. They changed another part relative to the fuel system and said it "may" be fixed. I refuse to pick it up or drive it again; it's dangerous and undependable. Have asked gm for another car and I am waiting for their response.
