While driving, transmission randomly slipped to neutral and would not go back to driving. White SUV behind me ended up small colliding with my back bumper.
2000 Honda Accord received transmission replacement. Consumer states two months after the replacement she is experiencing the same issue. The consumer stated the gears would slip and grind upon accelerating from a stop position and while driving.
My transmission seems to 'overheat'. The car will start and go fine when cold but when the engine gets hot the transmission slips badly.
Automatic transmission has been slipping hard for quite some time. Transmission has always been checked at regular scheduled maintenance. Transmission fluid has been replaced According to manufacturer's maintenance schedule. On 4/24/11 transmission would not engage while merging on a busy road, almost causing an accident. Transmission would not engage into 1st gear returning vehicle to home. This vehicle has very low mileage.
I have had my transmission go out twice in my 2000 Honda Accord. Each time, the gears start clunking while shifting and shortly after the transmission fails and is completely useless. Currently, my car will rev up like it's in neutral and then spontaneously slam into gear and slip back into neutral again which has, again, ruined the transmission. This is a recurrent problem and nothing has been done to make the issue better.
I have a 2000 Honda Accord lx 4cyl coupe which was given a new transmission at 97k miles because of a recall. It has 140k miles now and the transmission is slipping again. My Honda dealership is telling me the only solution is to replace it and that it needs to be done ASAP. They will not pay for it this time even though this one only has $40k miles on it. They want me to pay $2200. After researching on the internet, this type of transmission problem is widespread on this model Accord.
Transmission started slipping just outside of the 100,000 extended warranty Honda did because of multiple complaints about transmission issues.
2000 Honda Accord se - 2nd and 3rd gear slips on automatic transmission as it takes a lot of time to change gear. The car accelerates a lot before the gear is changed.
Transmission slips between 1st. And 2nd. Gears. Occurs often enough that it is causing check engine light to come on and stay on. Not repaired as of yet due to excess cost involved.
The contact owns a 2000 Honda Accord. He stated that while driving 55 mph the transmission started slipping gears. He then turned the engine off and disconnected the battery to reset the engine error code. As a consequence, his risk for a vehicle crash was increased. The vehicle has not been taken to a dealer for inspection, nor has it been repaired. The failure and current mileages were 143000.
My 2000 Honda Accords transmission failed at 93,000 miles. A class action lawsuit (case no. Rg 03099677) was won in California in 2006 extending the warranty of the 2000-2001 Accords transmission warranty to 93 months/ 109,000 miles. Honda dealer diagnosed need for transmission replacement (approx $2800) due to transmission slipping between 1st and 2nd gear and when car stopping, jumping and stuttering. Car is in excellent condition and serviced regularly. I contacted Honda of America corporate about a goodwill gesture due to car being under in miles of warranty, but over in months based on date of car purchase. Was informed by case manager (case no. N012009-01-2200226) that warranty is "up" in car and they would not help in repair.
I have a 2000 Honda Accord se - 4 cylinder. Sometimes when I take my car from park to reverse, I get a thud sound. I didn't think anything about it. At around 120,000 miles, when I put my car in reverse, the car won't move. When I step on the gas to try to get the car to move in reverse, the engine revs, but the car still won't move. I put the car back to park and then put in into reverse and it will be fine. If I am parked on a slanted surface where the front end of my car is sitting lower then the back and I try to put my car into reverse, the car rolls forward, but not reverse. One time I had to put my car into park, then reverse, park then reverse about 20 times to get out of the parking space. Because my car is over the warranty period, my local Honda dealer won't do anything about it. My husband seems to think that my transmission is slipping and someday I am going to be stuck. We don't have the $2000 to $4000 to have a new transmission put in. I thought Hondas were a long lasting car? I bought my car brand new and hoped to get my years out of it before I had to put major money into it. Has anyone else had this problem?.
The vehicle's has had multiple transmission failures. The vehicles engine revved etween 4000 to 5000 rpm before the consumer noticed the vehicle was not moving forward. Once the transmission slipped into gear the consumer was whip-lashed and body slammed into my seat belt. The vehicle driver seat has a sudden shift movement while the consumer drives that occurs intermittently as vehicle rounds sharp corners and turns. In Sep 2003 sent a notice about a problem with the drivers seat loosening. The key gets stuck in the ignition. The side airbag light comes on when the consumer has something on the front passenger seat cushion. The consumer hears a rattle in the dash near the coin drawer.
Transmission slips from new.
