Failure Date: 06/18/2018

Tl takata recall. The contact owns a 2005 Honda Accord. The contact stated that there was no failure experienced with the air bags until the vehicle was repaired per an unknown recall regarding the air bags. First team Honda (3444 western branch blvd, chesapeake, va 23321, (757) 337-6597) performed the recall repair and the dealer was notified that, shortly after the repair, the air bag indicator kept flashing. The dealer indicated that the indicator would turn off, but the failure continued. The contact felt that the recall remedy caused a failure that was not experienced prior to the repair. The dealer stated that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed again. The manufacturer was notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was not available.

5 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2018

Takata recall. I took my 2005 Honda Accord to Honda world in westminster, California and was told there's no recall for my airbags even though I have received notices in the mail and the airbag light turns off and on. The vehicle is in motion on city streets or highway, whether go straight or turning, the airbag light turns off and on. This dealer has refused to check the airbags unless I pay and says there's no recall for the airbags though I've received notices.

7 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 10/25/2017

I have 2005 Honda Accord which is not included in the takata recall but I have a airbag light that goes off and on. As a result, my passenger side seat belt locked up when I took it to the dealer they said that the engine read a code that said it was involved in rear collision and it was not. They also stated that the seat belt could have locked up because the airbag light is on. Someone was sitting in the seat and had to maneuver to get out of it. The dealership has told me it will cost $800 and up to repair the seat belt (and it was not covered under the lifetime warranty for seat belts)but when I took the car to Honda the airbag light was not on at that moment so they told me it was nothing they can do unless it was on. I believe that this is a problem because the dealership also told me that if I have a faulty airbag that my seat belt may continue to lock up. I am hesitant to fix the seat belt because of the airbag situation.

8 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 05/11/2017

The driver's side air bag light stays on. The dealer wants to charge a ridiculous amount of money to "search every wire associated" with the air bag system. This was a problem with 2005's manufactured 7/20/2004-10/8/2004 and they were recalled. Apparently, the problem was never fixed and multiple vehicle owners have reported this. Why has the recall not been extended to all 2005's? I fear for my safety every time I drive. I can't afford the repair nor can I just go buy a new car!.

15 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 12/23/2014

I have a Honda Accord 2005 and have noticed the airbag light continues to light up showing there is some defect. I could never find a recall on this issue and the light have come on for over a year now. I am concerned because we are military and now with the airbag recall issue I have found out talking with the corporate Honda dealer they are only getting the vehicle location from local dmv offices. The problem is military register their cars in their home state, but live in other states. So my car is in CA and has also been in FL and va. Because of this oversight, it appears I have not been notified of the recall. I called Honda to confirm if the faulty part is in my vehicle, and Honda refuses to tell me. I have been told "I am not part of the recall because I am not on the list". But if I have the part, and since my car has been in a recall state, I should be included. It is a total lack of coordination and record keeping. They refuse to listen and refuse to assist. I have warned them I am pregnant with twins and need to get this issue resolved for safety purposes, but they refuse to listen. This amounts to negligence and I am now worried Honda does not care one bit for my safety or the safety of my unborn twins.

16 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 11/07/2014

Nothing happened. During the past few months, the airbag (red light) indicator light comes on the dashboard warning system and will not go off. This is intermittent, but certainly a cause for concern based on the recent recalls. Who will fix this for me?.

18 Air Bag Light On problem

19 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2013

I viewed NHTSA id number: 10653526 involving the red airbag indicator light that comes on and won't go off. Mine has been doing this intermittently for at least a year that I can recall. It is now on almost all the time. When calling a local dealer about it, they said that they would have to charge me to look at the problem and would be responsible for any work that would need to be done to fix it.

20 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 08/27/2013

Airbag light would come on after car warms up intermittantly, and stays on permanently on colder days it takes longer to turn on but eventually it will.

21 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2013

I've noticed a faultiness with the airbag light indicator/sensor. After the engine is started, the light stays on and continues to stay on until I restart the engine, at which time the light may or may not turn off. This happens whether there is a passenger present in the passenger's seat or not. The light faultiness happens at random. Though many models of Honda Accords have been covered under a recall for the same issue, Honda is telling me my specific vehicle is not covered. This is a dangerous issue that can affect the airbag deployment, causing full-force deployment regardless of seat position.

22 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 02/12/2013

Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the air bag light continuously illuminated while driving. 23 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2011

My air bag light was lit,I took it to Honda they re-set something, 5 minutes later as I was leaving it lit up again. Took it back they said they had to do diagnostics, ordered a wiring harness, installed that. I drove to florida and back 1300 miles round trip and the light is back on meaning my bags will not deploy. I have had a very difficult time getting this addressed. Honda (apple tree in fletcher , nc) had my car from tue-sat and I had to rent a car due to their negligence. Now I have to drive back over there 1 1/2 hour drive one way and see what is going on. I noticed there have been similar issues, but that my VIN was not covered. Please advise. I am still driving an unsafe car and have spent countless hours going back and forth and paying for a rental car.

24 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 10/17/2011

Car was running fine. No problems. All of a sudden the airbag light came on. I stopped the car and checked the seat on the passenger side and seat belts trying to figure out why it was on. I got back into the car and continued home. When slowing to turn into driveway a loud banging noise occured. The car was put in park and immediately started rolling backwards. This could have been a hazard if a car had been passing by or if this had happened in busy traffic. I could have rolled back and hurt someone, hurt myself or rolled back into oncoming trafic. Also if someone had been walking behind the car and gotten ran over and killed. Anyway it was later towed to a dealer and diagnostics ran. The dealer informed me that I needed a new transmission. That is not right. My car was like new with a little over 68 thousand miles on it. I still owe on it and purchased it brand new. Honda should be responsible for this. Since this has happened to me and I have begun to research this I found a ton of recalls for this same problem, yet I am told my car is a 6 cylinder and is not under recall. Please help. I was told it would cost me 4400 plus $ to replace the transmission. Honda should be responsible for this cost.

27 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 10/13/2010

Supplemental restraint system indicator light remains (intermittently) illuminated beyond the normal time after starting vehicle. 30 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2010

I have a 2005 Honda Accord ex nav that has problems with the srs airbag light staying on. I've contact Honda about why my car was not in the recall like the other Accords in the same year model. They claim there isn't a problem. A srs airbag light that stays on is clearly a problem that seems to be consistent with the airbag recall of the other vehicles. I ask them to pay for the repair but they refused.

31 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 05/14/2010

The airbag light illuminated on my 2005 Honda Accord. Took to dealer who said it was the driver seat module and would cost $300. Checked previous Honda recalls and the same complaint was recalled for 81000 cars but mine wasn't listed (recall 07v001000 there are a few other complaints indicating the same problem and as this is an important safety issue, perhaps Honda should extend its recall to include my vehicle. I asked Honda customer service when my vehicle was manufactured (to determine if the date was around the period when the other cars were recalled) but they said they didn't have that info.

32 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 12/02/2009

The contact owns a 2005 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the air bag light was illuminated upon starting the vehicle. The failure recurred on an intermittent basis. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on several occasions, but they were unable to diagnose the failure because the light would no longer be illuminated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in the recall associated with NHTSA campaign id number 07v001000 (air bags:frontal:sensor/control module). The failure mileage was 63,000.

The contact turned off the engine in hopes that the indicator would reset; however, it remained illuminated. The dealer wanted to charge him to diagnose the failure, but the contact was not willing to pay. A report was not filed with the manufacturer, but they stated that the dealer will need to diagnose the vehicle. The contact will take the vehicle back to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The current and failure mileages were 33,200.

34 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 05/31/2008

I purchase this vehicle on April 28th 2008. The carfax report had an accident indicator by the second owner, but did not mention what type of accident in terms of moderate, minor, no damage, etc. This report was printed March 24th 2008. When I bought the vehicle the air bag light was on, and when driving; it still stayed on and I told atlanta used car dealership, who told me to take it to the Honda dealership to look at it and stated that its probably a glitch. I took the vehicle to the Honda car dealership to inspect. The Honda dealership found the srs control unit and the passenger side curtain airbag faulty. As stated on my customer invoice from gwinnett place Honda, the passenger side air bag appeared to be cut out. Carfax did not report that there is a deficient airbag. Another incident found is that the accelerator occasionally stick when trying to depress. The Honda dealership found there was a carbon build up and it needed service. The dealer replaced the right outer tie rod end, which is on the right passenger where the accident occurred. The dealer stated it was unsafe for me to drive without replacing the tie rod, which was serviced and they also performed a 4 wheel alignment and test drive before I left. My experience has led me to take the initiative to communicate with my attorney general's office, and other consumer protection agencies to report this incident. Sincerely, olutomilola aiyetiwa.
