general problems of the 2005 Honda Accord - part 1

The contact stated while driving 35 mph and attempting to pass a vehicle on the right side of the road, the vehicle lost power steering functionality and pulled to the left side of the road and towards the median. The contact did not recall whether a warning light was illuminated. The vehicle crashed into the pole of a traffic sign, and the traffic sign broke the windshield. The air bags failed to deploy and the seat belts pretensioners failed to engaged, causing the contact to hit her head against the windshield. The shattered pieces of the windshield were propelled to the contact. The contact stated that she was unconscious for an hour. The contact was transported to the hospital by emergency units. The contact sustained severe headaches and was advised to follow up with a neurologist. Additionally, the contact sustained minor lacerations on the legs and arms. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot, where it was totaled. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 230,000.

Front air bag indicator light stays on while driving. Was replaced twice. And the problem is still going on. It's been four years since it's been replaced.

The dealer was contacted but the dealer stated that there was no open recalls under the VIN. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 315,986.

The passengers airbag light keeps on turning on and off.

Lost control of my car my brakes either locked up or went out and steering wheel was hard to turn & it caused me to hydroplane and none of my airbags deployed.

Air bag indicator light is always on. Went to the Honda dealer (auto nation Honda, tucson) and was informed that there is a recall but the part was not available. So come back after the part. Came back today, and there was a new person, and was informed it wont be covered under the warranty, and needs to replace the driver's side seat belt wire harness and had to pay $235. There is a safety recall: driver's seat position sensor harness replacement service bulletin 07-002 for this wire harness but was informed does not cover my vehicle. I think this is the same issue, but why does not cover my vehicle? this is clearly Honda's fault.

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The contact called the manufacturer and was informed needing a diagnosed testing to be performed on the vehicle. The vehicle had not been diagnosed. The failure mileage was approximately 186,000.

My daughter was in a car accident 5/18/21 and totaled her car , airbags opened on sides and in seat but her steering wheel never opened . I have pictures of the car and even police officer , paramedic and tow guy said it seems strange that they did not open . She is very lucky to be ok but I am concerned that the steering wheel did not open . Maintenance was kept up on car along with inspections .

Hi. I got an accident about 3 week ago. My vehicle was damaged at front of bumper and the airbag driver side is pull out, but the cost is too expensive for repair my car. I don't have that much at the moment. Can you help me? please.

My airbags are off my door lock is broke I tried to lock the car one day the alarm went off and when I tried to put the key in the driver door the spring popped out so I haven't been able to lock my car . I put my car in the shop and once I did a few days later the maintenance required light came on.

We brought this in to both vern eide Honda, sioux falls, sd and brookdale Honda, brooklyn park, mn. It has been taken care of this is not the original airbag and there are no recalls on the current airbag. Somehow this investigation by both dealerships has not been recorded in the system. Our understanding from brookdale Honda is that photos of the installed airbag were sent to Honda corporate and nothing needed to be done further. We continue to receive notifications going so far as to receive them from the dvs. Please assist. The number and frequency of notification is becoming annoying since the care has been in twice to Honda for rectification of the airbag.

I dont know if my vehicle have a air bag recall because its saying 0 unrepaired and I'm confused if I have a recall or not on my airbag.

Takata recall: I purchased from individual knowing it was a salvage vehicle. However, did not know the air bags had been removed. While it is covered by recent recall Honda America will not authorize repair due to missing parts. Unsafe condition!.

While driving vehicle transmission abruptly went into a down shift causing the vehicle to slow down while traveling at a high speed. Recall # r89.

"takata recal" I was involved in a minor fender bender on Aug 7 2018 all I could remember at the time was two sudden blows to the right side of my head and then a loud ringing noise that got louder and laouder after that I just remember massive pain to my chest I was out for a few minuts whem I woke up, I was still in the driving position and my mouth was full of blood and my arms were cut on both arms and bleeding, little peices of material were in my skin, I had loss of memory for about two wks. I was traveling south down arden st in san bdno when a tailgator tried to pass me on the right hand sideand failed to make it so his rear bumper caught the front of my car and ripped acros my front grillm wich I didnot see happen I was knocked out by ghen by air bag, but damages shiw that conclusion, I was traveling about w5 to 35 mph, I incured a blow to my chest wich caused a fractured sternum, my chedt and breast were all black and blue , I have been having chest pains everyday since and been to a emergency room twice , the day of the accident and on Sep 17 im still in pain. Having a hard time breathing or even moving.

Takata rec�ll" I was involved in a accident on Aug,7 I was heading south on a two way street and someone passed me on the right side of my car and not m�king it the rear of his truck hit the right front wheel well of my car and set of my airbag wich imidiently I felt a hard impact on the right side of my facei could no lo ger feel my body just a loud peircing noice and then I passed out when I woke up I felt massive pain in my chest just pain pain pain,, I could not figure out what happened, the ambulance arrived and assest me and took me my arms were bleedi g with tiny peices of something in them mthe emergenct room toom blood and x rays and released NY my chest was stil hurti g bad, for 30 days it still hurt I went to emergency room again and tgey said my femur bone had been broken znd was healing from accident.

Air bag needs to be replaced and ever since I bought it I been having steering wheel noise and it shakes constantly. I bought new tires, changed power steering, pump, hose and it still does the same thing. I go to discount tires nearly every two weeks to get tires rebalanced even if its new. They still cant find the problem. Car also turns off sometimes. Happpened five times already. The steering whistle sound is constant now and when my car turned off it was on the street parked and also making turns causes the steering wheel to be stiff.

I called Honda service ctr in escondido, CA to ask if my Honda was affected/included in the takata airbag recall and was told it is not.

The airbag lingt always turn on somtimes in motion. So I am afraid of my Honda car ,when I am driving it.

Takata recall: on July 21 2017, my srs light on my 2005 Accord came on while turning the wheel to back out of a parking space. Bought the car in March of 2017 and had no issues up until this time. The light has remained on ever since. Ran this vehicles VIN and found no open recalls. My wife drives this car and is very petite, I fear for her safety, as well as my own as we both use the car. No help from dealer.

Airbag deployed while driving and caused accident. Accord rear ended another vehicle. There is a recall on the airbag of this vehicle with offer to remedy however Honda told me they will not honor the recall after the fact because the bag already deployed. 4/13/2017 accident is recorded on illinois motorist report #209078 filed in cook county via schaumburg police department report# 17-07912. Airbag still has not been repaired as the vehicle is unsafe to drive due to another safety recall not being honored - (fuel pump issue causing vehicle to stall while driving).

Takata recall. My 2005 Honda Accord airbag/srs light has been continuously staying off and on.

The line for power steering began leaking and caught fire and I had to replace the line at my expense. I could not get help from the dealer at that time. I have my receipt for the line that was about$149. 00 to replace.

The Honda station service said the air bag doesn't work properly.

"takata recall" we have 2 Hondas that had the airbags replaced as part of the recall. Shortly after the airbag was replaced the srs light came on the dashboard of both vehicles. Rt. 23 Honda, pompton plains, NJ did the replacement. They want $300 for each vehicle to fix the problem that they say is not related to the airbag replacement. It seems unlikely that both of our cars would have the same problem after the airbag replacement. I have filed second report since 2 VIN numbers are involved. I also filed a report with Honda. We last spoke to rt. 23 Honda about this on 4/21/2016.

I was involved in a car accident. I was driving a Honda Accord 2005 and was rear ended by a BMW x5. There seemed to be minor damage to my rear bumper with no collision from the front. The next day, I started my car turn on the ac and let the car cool down. I stepped out of the car and in a few minutes the driver airbag deployed. I took the car to Honda motor so they could find out what is wrong witht the car, but Honda wants 115 dollars to make a dianostic which I think is ridiculous. Please advice, I'm driving a car without airbags that Honda refuses to even look at unless I pay 115 dollars.

Takata recall- I cannot get any answers from Honda at 1-888-234-2138 regarding why my Honda takata has not been recalled. They put me on hold and never pick up again. It's a total run around. I do not feel safe driving this car anymore or letting anyone drive it knowing metal projectiles may blind me or pierce my neck. Why is there not a total recall of takata airbags in Honda's?.
