"takata recall". . . . . I purchased this car 2 years ago and the seat belt warning light has always been lit. I just had my oil changed today and the repair shop advised me that there was an error code which means defective air bag. Also the driver seat belt buckle showed defective. Yesterday I received 2 different emails from NHTSA for 2 recalls (#19v499 and #19v501). No letter was received from Honda yet but I hate to wait for a letter to arrive as that could take 60 days, then would have to wait for the dealer to get the parts and then get an appointment. This situation is life-threatening. Is there any way to speed this process up? also the repair shop stated that a lot of the air bags that have been replaced, are now being recalled.

5 Warning Light On problem

Takata recall. The airbag warning light stays on. Dealer acknowledges this but the VIN doesn't show the vehicle (2005 Honda Accord hybrid) covered under the recall.

6 Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 09/07/2015

I recently received an airbag notice to have the passenger air bag replace at the dealer. I promptly delivered my vehicle to the dealer texas Honda of austin, TX. After the air bag was replaced and they updated the computer, I am now getting an srs warning light which is intermitting. And According to my manual take it to your dealer. When I reported it to the dealer they advised that the two had no relevance. That I would have to pay for the repairs and that the parts were not available. According to Honda's site the seat wiring harness should have been replaced to avoid this.

9 Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 02/20/2015

My airbag indicator warning light came on at about 195k miles. I called the dealership asking if they had a recall open and said they did not. They thought maybe it was a sensor. Now that I see the reason for the latest recall, covering 2001-2003 whose takata airbags we declared at risk, particularly in high humidity states. I can't help but to think that with all the recalls before and after my model year, coupled with my airbag light, that I am driving around with a high risk of my airbag deploying.

10 Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 08/22/2013

I took my Honda in for a power steering recall that was issued and asked the Honda dealership to look into the reason why the airbag warning light was on. They called me back and said there were two fault codes one being the driver seatbelt buckle and the other being the drivers seat position sensor. I know there is already a recall on the driver seat position sensor but they said that my vehicle's VIN was not affected by the recall. Therefore, in order to fix this sensor I would have to pay to repair the part. I called Honda America and they also told me it was my responsibility to repair the part since my vehicle did not have a VIN affected by the driver seat position sensor recall. I find this odd that my vehicle is of a make model and year with a known defective part but yet it is not involved in the recall. I feel that this should be investigated further to see if there are more models that are affected by the drivers seat position sensor for the air bag.

18 Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 10/20/2010

The seat position sensor (sps) wiring harness in my 2005 Honda Accord is broken causing the air bag warning light to be illuminated and the sps to fail. Please note that this symptom is identical to that addressed by recall number: 07v001000, which applied to certain 2004 and 2005 Honda Accords. However, my VIN number is not included in the Honda recall. I believe that the omission of my 2005 Honda Accord's VIN from recall number 07v001000 is in error and should be corrected. The Honda dealer changed an initial $95. 07 for diagnosing the problem, and has offered to install a new wiring harness at my expense. At this time no action has been taken. The faulty wiring harness is still installed and the air bag light is still illuminated and the sps is still in failure mode.

20 Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 03/12/2010

The airbag warning light on my 2005 Honda Accord ex-l was illuminated. I took the vehicle to my Honda dealer and they replaced the wiring subharness. This was the same symptom, issue and resolution as NHTSA campaign #06e064000. My vehicle was not in the included in the VIN numbers recalled per that campaign and I feel that Honda didn't resolve the manufacturing defect by the time my vehicle was produced. In other words, I don't think Honda recalled all vehicles affected.

The contact owns a 2005 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was not inspected for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 55,000 and the current mileage was 73,000.

22 Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 08/18/2005

We purchased a new 2005 Honda Accord ex-l (4 cyl) on July 31, 2005. 3 weeks into ownership, the airbag warning light came on and stayed on. The car was being driven normally at the time. We followed the owner's manual instructions and returned to the dealer for service on 8/19/2005 (bankston Honda in lewisville, TX). The service department ran a computer test on the car and confirmed that the driver's side airbag was not receiving a signal, and in fact would not deploy in the event of a crash. In short, the airbag was non-functional. The dealer had the car until today, 8/24/2005. Their fix was to "clear the code" and make the light go off. They claim they were unable to find the cause of the problem, and wanted to return the car to us. No parts were replaced. The light simply turned off and they consider that "fixed" I suppose. I insisted on an explanation, since this is a critical safety item. We were told by the dealer that in Honda Accords, the airbag's functionality can be compromised by a cell phone being in the car! if this is the case, the cars should be recalled! there's even a special power jack between the front seats for cell phones. There's no telling how many Honda drivers are in danger if what the dealer told me is the case. How can a car manufacturer and dealer knowingly sell a vehicle whose primary safety feature deactivates because the owner is carrying a cell phone? we left the dealer with our car (8/24/05). About 2 miles down the road the airbag light came on again. We immediately returned to the dealer. They have the car again and are going to call "Honda tech" for advice. I am thoroughly disappointed with this vehicle and am angry that we and thousands of other Accord drivers could be at risk of injury/death because of a known problem that hasn't been announced by the mfg and remedied. I don't want the car anymore because I don't believe it's safe. I want my money back.
