1 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/08/2025

No accident occurred. I just believe that the symptoms our car has are the exact same issues that caused a recall. I’m just relaying information to help set the parameters of the recall. Secondly I am curious why the service manager didn’t mention about a recall possibly concerning our car. Even though it isn’t in the window of the recall ( but shows all symptoms). Guess I’m feeling a little jaded with the way the service manager conveniently left out they didn’t have any parts for our car and they would have to order them. Anyway they knew I was driving the car home and they only had 6 hours to mess with it.

2 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/27/2025

Odometer fraud. The contact owns a 2013 Honda Accord. The contact purchased the vehicle on October 27, 2025. It was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale by an individual who was a registered dealer. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 105,000. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to immediately start. Several attempts were needed to start the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who informed the contact that there was exposure of red wiring on the underside of the vehicle, which could be a potential safety hazard. The dealer also informed the contact of an oil leak, a previous abs replacement, a previous transmission replacement, and that the engine was not the original engine. The dealer also informed the contact that the mileage on the vehicle was not what had been documented at the time of sale and that the actual mileage was 205,000. The contact confirmed the actual mileage as 205,000 in a carfax report. The failures persisted. One morning, while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start after several attempts. The vehicle was towed to a certified mechanic to be diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the flex plate had failed. The starter was replaced; however, the vehicle failed to start. The contact had spoken with the seller, who had taken possession of the vehicle but had not provided any additional repairs. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The odometer fraud was not reported to any other government agencies.

3 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/09/2025

Started car and dashboard light came on then off showing steering wheel and exclamation point. Then re-started and drove normally. A few days later, when starting the steering wheel unable was unable to be turned. Dashboard light show steering wheel and exclamation point. Required towing. Dealer determined diagnostic code dtc 34-05 power relay stuck off I found multiple reports of power steering failure in this model Honda Accord 2013. Since there is no recall, it should be an extended warranty until next year. I’m asking if the power relay is covered by the extended warranty. Is there going to be a recall since this is so dangerous?.

4 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/07/2025

No start condition. Car takes minutes to start due to faulty push button start. This is a well documented condition by the public. The safety concern is that repeated attempts to start will drain the battery and cause degradation of the starter, which in case of an emergency or an occupant in an unsafe environment, or on a public roadway, puts the driver, occupants at risk. Honda is well aware of this problem but rejects any liability.

5 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2025

In the past 2–3 months, multiple door lock actuators/latches on my 2013 Honda Accord have failed. Both rear doors will not reliably lock or unlock, and the front driver door actuator is intermittent. This means that three of the four doors cannot be secured or opened normally. This is a serious safety and security issue. The car cannot be locked to prevent theft or unauthorized entry. Children or passengers in the rear may not be able to exit safely in an emergency. I am also concerned that the failure could compromise crash safety if doors cannot be unlocked quickly after a collision. Performance kings Honda (cincinnati, OH) inspected the vehicle, confirmed the failures, and diagnosed both rear door latch/actuator assemblies as faulty. They provided an estimate of $1,000+ for repairs. I have an open case with american Honda. Honda acknowledges there is no recall, but this appears to be a systemic defect rather than normal wear, since multiple actuators have failed simultaneously. There were no warning lights or messages. The issue developed gradually, starting with difficulty locking/unlocking one door, followed by failure of the others. The vehicle remains available for inspection at the Honda dealership.

6 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2025

I have been having problems with many dashboard lights coming on at once. I got it checked out and I got abs code 123 - 11 and code 81 - 20. This has been going on since the beginning of August 2025. This could lead to dangerous malfunctions, and is one of the most expensive things to repair. It is my understanding that many many vehicles between 2013 and 2017 in the Honda range I've been experiencing this to the point of where we need a recall.

7 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/12/2025

While driving the car the power steering light comes on and power steering goes out then. No warning just goes off and power to steering wheel is not working. This has happened going 55 mph. Very dangerous. I feel this should be investigated. I did read this was a problem with this car. Why no recall??!! also was checked by mechanic. This has happened more than once before today.

8 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/11/2025

Vehicle included in 2017 battery sensor recall, repaired promptly upon notice. This is a separate issue/sensor. ***electrical safety hazard impacting eps, abs, tpms*** *** all other electrical components involved *** car has had electrical issues since the day I purchased it in 2016, with no codes indicating an issue. Car would fail to start, testing would indicate starter or battery failure. For the last three months, voltage would drop to unacceptable levels whenever the headlights were off (6 week old, brand new, not reman alternator unit maintained 14 amps with lights on, dropped to 12. 1 with them off). On July 11, 2025 (4 days ago as of this report), while driving approximately 47 mph, the plug in voltmeter on the car abruptly started plummeting on a road with sharp angles and no shoulder to pull onto, despite lights being on. No improvement after shutting off lights, climate control, and radio displays, continues lowering to 11. 8. Turned climate control back on, headlights back on, briefly alternator reached 12. 2 amps, before rapidly dropping to unsustainable levels (I was aware of this because of my plug in voltmeter. The car's built in electrical system didn't alert until the voltage hit 8. 8). Still nowhere to pull over safely. Electronic power steering cuts out abruptly, followed by abs, tpms, traction control. Turning the car into the first available lot to get out of traffic, on my left took an inordinate amount of strength, and I barely coasted to a stop when every single electronic component on the car blinked out and the entire car shut down. The car is exclusively maintained by a licensed, accredited automotive repair facility's owner, who is a master automotive technician and able to provide proof of all of the above, including previous electrical repairs listed below. The issue is the vehicle's eld sensor. One small part has cost me nearly 7 figures in repairs car has gone through 4 starters, 8 batteries, and is now waiting on a 3rd alternator.

9 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/10/2025

After a driveshaft recall repair was performed on July 10, 2025, at germain Honda of dublin, my 2013 Honda Accord ex-l immediately began showing multiple safety system warning lights, including abs, vsa, traction control, and check engine. These lights had never appeared prior to the repair. Diagnostic codes included: •vsa solenoid valve malfunction •modulator control unit power source circuit (ig) low voltage these point directly to the abs/vsa modulator, which is located near where the driveshaft repair was done. Despite the timing, Honda has refused to cover the repair, quoting me nearly $3,000. The dealer also cleared the codes before I arrived and then claimed they were “historic” with no documentation. I’ve confirmed my battery and alternator are in good condition, ruling out the common causes of voltage errors. I believe something was disturbed or left improperly connected during the recall service, resulting in a dangerous condition involving the vehicle’s braking and stability systems. This is a potential safety risk that arose after a manufacturer-issued recall repair, and I am requesting a formal investigation into similar cases if reported.

10 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/10/2025

The abs pump/motor, abs modulator needs to be replaced. This is a pretty common issue with the Honda Accord from 2008-2017. Fixing this problem is expensive at the dealer. I believe Honda motors should have a recall about this situation because how pricy this is. Looking online for information and videos on youtube many people have been quoted 2,800 dollars and up to replace it. I just replace the abs sensor driver side and abs, brake, steering wheel came out. These are coming on and off. Please I would like to get some help with this situation.

11 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/25/2025

Vsa abs fcw eps warning lights, According to Honda dealership it needs a vsa abs module, these are thousands of dollars and there’s thousands and thousands of pissed off customers. This should be warranted. It looks like Honda of europe did warranty it. I’m not sure what’s going on in Honda north America. It can cause the brake pedal to go soft, and is definitely a safety hazard.

12 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/24/2025

The car has keyless entry and push button to start. Recently I noticed the car was not able to start correctly when pushing the push button. Sometimes it can start but it needs the keyfob to be very close to the push button. 3 days ago the car wont start at all no matter how I tried it. Testes battery and starter all are at working condition. I suspected the keyless push start button is faulty.

13 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2025

The car has starting issues where it takes up to 20 attempts at the start button to get the car to start. This is a safety issue, since a person can get stranded in the middle of nowhere. I now leave my car engine on all the time (wasting gas, adding CO to the atmosphere, overheating the car) while I run errands, as I don't want to get stranded.

14 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/10/2024

On December 10, 2024, while driving at approximately 45 mph on state street, my vehicle suddenly lost all power and stalled. The dashboard lights went out, and there were no prior warning indicators. Thankfully, I was able to coast safely off the road and restart the vehicle after it stalled. Before this incident, I had experienced multiple occasions when my car took unusually long to start. When pressing the gas pedal, the vehicle struggled to accelerate, feeling like it had no power. On December 26, 2024, I received an email stating that certain 2013–2023 Honda Accords might be subject to a recall due to a faulty fuel pump. However, after checking my specific VIN, I found no active recalls listed for my vehicle. Given the issues I have been experiencing over the past year—including stalling and power loss—I believe my vehicle may be affected by the same faulty fuel pump issue. I am filing this complaint to document that the identified fuel pump issue may affect more vehicles from these model years.

15 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/05/2024

2013 Honda Accord ex-l v6 2 separate malfunctions loss of all power steering faulty vsa module effecting dashboard indicators broken vsa (vehicle stability assistance) module causes the abs, fcw, ldw vsa, steering, and tire gauge warnings to light up solid. Causing the driver to be unaware if anything is wrong with the vehicle. Also leaving the car without working safety features promised by Honda such as the (fcw) forward collision warning and (ldw) lane departure warning due to the faulty vsa module I did not receive a warning at my loss of power steering. I was able to maneuver myself off the main road and take it to a local mechanic who after scanning and checking was confused and suggested that it would most likely need an entire steering rack replacement. Still haven't gone to an official Honda dealership. I did not receive any warning from the vehicle when my power steering went out. Due to the faulty vsa module affecting the lights on my dashboard that included the one that would indicate faulty power steering. This is the first year of the model to incorporate esa. Nhsta has had a open investigation into the faulty power steering but was eventually closed due to lack of reports. Many people have been reporting similar issues with this model and it has caused accidents and allegedly some deaths. At this current time there is no safety recall by Honda to fix either the broken vsa module or more importantly the power steering. Vsa modules have been recalled and replaced by Honda in different countries but not in the united states. The faulty vsa module puts drivers at risk by leaving the driver unaware of any potential issues with their vehicle until the problem already happens and leaves mechanics confused as to what the issue actually is. I implore NHTSA to take action against this very dangerous issue with both the loss of power steering and the vsa module with this year and model of Honda.

16 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/04/2024

While driving my 2013 Honda Accord sedan on the turnpike, I experienced a critical failure of the vehicle stability assist (vsa) modulator, which was later inspected and confirmed to be malfunctioning by a Honda service technician at south motors Honda. This component is available for inspection upon request. As I was traveling at approximately 65 mph, the abs (anti-lock braking system) malfunctioned, causing the brakes to lock up when I attempted to slow down for traffic ahead. This sudden loss of braking control put my safety and the safety of others at significant risk, as I nearly collided with the vehicle in front of me. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by an independent service center. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. Prior to the failure, several warning lamps, including the vsa, abs, and brake lights, illuminated on the dashboard. These warning lights first appeared about a week before the incident, but I was unable to get the vehicle serviced immediately due to scheduling constraints. Additionally, the front collision warning system was not functioning, which further compromised my ability to avoid a potential accident. This malfunction was particularly concerning as it failed to alert me to the rapidly approaching vehicle ahead, exacerbating the dangerous situation caused by the abs failure.

17 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/22/2024

The fuel pump on my 2013 Honda Accord went out. Ive taken the vehicle to the Honda dealer multiple times to get it diagnosed and they keep telling me its the high pressure fuel pump and once replaced my car will run smoothly. Not the case ive replaced it more than 6 times, my car still stalls and turns off at random so im unable to drive the vehicle. It starts and drives but you have to look at the rpms while driving, if I go over 2000 rpms itll stall. When the issue first started I was at a redlight when the vehicle stalled, thankfully no one was around me since it was late but had there been traffic my car would have been hit. I have 2 children and I cant and will not put them in that car knowing it has a problem no one is willing to take a deep dive into. Due to this issue multiple lights on the dash are on and wont go off until the problem is fixed.

18 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/20/2024

Abs module failure. Lights up emergency brake, tire pressure warning, electrical power steering, and vehicle stability assist indicator. Did some research and the failure is caused by faulty soldering inside the abs module.

19 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/13/2024

I was involved in a accident in which my car had stalled on me in the middle of a intersection and I was hit by on coming traffic and I also got hit by a truck on my left hand side which had been just repaired by someone who was certified and pay through insurance company when I got my vehicle back the ads light was on my dash as well I was hurt and the airbags split open my lips and my head.

20 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/07/2024

The abs module failure has caused all my dash boards lights to remain on making the lan assist and calibration impossible to complete. This needs to be investigated for all Honda Accords from 2012 - 2018. I have had several mechanics say this should be recalled due to its occurrence. The other issue is the timing belt slips without any wrecks due to being poorly built.

21 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/05/2024

Car started to show fwc lights, ldw lights, steering warning, traction control. Inspected by two mechanics and say the codes come back to abs module defect.

22 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2024

Code 123_11 for bad abs module. Lights that turn on within the dashboard are: front crash warning (fcw), lane departure warning (ldw), tpms, traction control, and electronic power steering. This issue is common within this generation of Accord and Honda needs to issue a recall.

23 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/14/2024

Dash board lights indicated abs system module malfunction, per illinois Honda dealership diagnosis. Abs module failure also causes failure of forward collision warning system and lane departure warning system.

24 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2024

I was driving into a parking spot and the car started flickering, the screen turned off and the steering locked and would not allow me to move the car at all even though it was in drive.

25 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/02/2024

The car has just over 91,000 miles on it and the push button start is working only intermittently. I know I’m not the only one because the online forums are full of started problems with these. It’s my only car and Honda has known for years it is a problem with these.

26 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/17/2024

When starting the engine and while driving at speeds of 60+mph, malfunction lamp, fcw, vsa, ldw, low tire pressure (tpms), econ mode, and eps warning lights come on and vehicles slows to 10 mph. Vehicle will remain in this condition until restarted which may or may not resolve the issue. Car will drive but not at speed desired and vehicles appears/sounds as if it is trying to change gears but cannot. The car continues to try to slow down to lower speeds.

27 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/12/2024

When my 2013 Accord was around 80,000 miles my dashboard lit up with "forward collison warning system failure. " the following lights are also on, ldw, power steering, tpms, traction control. I took my car to a mechanic and was told I needed a new vsa/ abs brake control module. I was told this is a common problem for Hondas and is dangerous as it disables traction control and could affect braking as well. The mechanic and a Honda dealer quoted me $3,200 for this repair.

28 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/02/2024

All the safety error lights come up on dash (abs, steering control, tire pressure, stability control) all aluminate. Initially they would only come on when vehicle sat while running for more than a few min and once parked overnight they would not come back on. Now they are on 100% of the time and never go off. There a a ton of videos out there with a faulty ans module. Honda is selling them for like $1400 part + labor. An entire industry has started to repair them and video showing the fault in wiring showing bad soldering joints where very thin wire is attached. My car has 95,500 miles on it.

29 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2024

The abs/vsa module failure: tire pressure, traction control, steering, lane departure warning (ldw), and forward collision warning (fcw) dash lights come on; the vehicle is available for inspection upon request, pending recall or private repair. The safety of the driver, passengers, and outside parties is at risk in case of brake failure or brake locking in a situation where the ldw or fcw has failed to alert the driver of a pending collision. The dealer conducted a diagnostic service on the morning of 07/01/2024 indicating abs module and brake flush, codes 81. 19 and 81. 20, with a repair cost of $2,385. 49 for the abs module part and labor of 4. 95 ($3335. 49) and brake flush labor of . 8 ($179. 95) for a total cost of $3,575. 44. The vehicle or parts have not been inspected by police, insurance representatives, or others, although galpin Honda performed the above diagnostic. The vehicle dashboard lights mentioned above come on shortly after driving the vehicle at times, with the lights alternating between on and off at any given start-up—they can light up or be off at start-up/drive-off.

30 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/20/2024

There is something wrong with the electric power steering. Every time I drive my steering wheel pulls to the left so if I let go of the steering wheel the steering wheel will pull to the left and could potentially cause a car crash and while driving and difficulty steering (either steering feeling too firm or too loose). This is happening without the electric power steering warning light being illuminated. I do not feel safe.

31 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/28/2024

I lost control of vehicle while driving because the electrical steering motor stopped working. I’ve had the electric starter already replaced twice with Honda parts and it’s still not working. There’s something wrong with the steering. I already placed a complaint and I have not heard back from Honda or NHTSA. I sent letters to nys senators schumer and hillabrand and I have not yet heard back from them yet either. I sent letters emails to congress and the senate transportation committees. I’ve found testimonials for the same issues online even with videos. I just read a complaint that was nearly identical the experience I had except it happened in 2020. The power steering stops and starts same for the cars starter and windows. I took the car to Honda dealer to repair it on March 29th, 2024. I now have a car repair bill for $8500 at curry Honda in yorktown heights. They said I needed to replace entire exhaust system $3000 because they couldn’t get to the steering column without taking down the fragile exhaust system. Basically, I had no choice. In order to start the repairs they wanted a $4,500 down payment which I paid. They’ve now had the car for 37 days. They described the steering column and motor system as being completely corroded to the point where the steering column was going to snap/break. What they said at the Honda dealer was the Honda steering motor and wiring was completely corroded which is not common. A few weeks later they told me that the knuckle/ball bearings were rusted out and that all the shock absorbers needed replaced as they were also rusted out even the screws According to them. They said these should all be replaced or I would fail inspection. The bill went from $3000 to $4700 to $6200 to $7900 to now $8500 includes tax. They’re still working on the vehicle and they’ve had it since March 29th, it’s now may 05th, 2024. I’ve asked them for the parts that they’re removing and they said they’ll save the parts. Do you want them? recall?.

32 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/26/2024

Abs contol module failure. Error code 81-19. Ther is a major defect with the modules failing from 2013 through 2017 Hondas. There are so many failing that there are no parts in the market and the part cost around $1600. This is a safety concern as abs breaks can lock up.

33 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/05/2024

Unknown.

34 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/29/2023

Lost ability to steer vehicle. It was impossible to steer the car. The car was running on and in one instance moving at low sped in my own driveway. There have been 3 instances when this happens. The problem went away after turning the car off and restarting the vehicle. 2) the starter won’t start on occasion as it takes multiple attempts to start vehicle. 3) I had to replace the starter and also a sensor forward collision sensor so the entire dashboard display for every light would turn off. Literally, every light on the dashboard turns on, even for low tire pressure. The bidders concern from operation perspective is the steering. There’s no doubt in my mind that this is a critical and serious defect with this make and model of the 2013 Honda Accord. I looked online and there are literally thousands of reports of the same issue. There are complaints of uncontrollable steering too. One gentleman did a youtube video demonstrating what’s happening. I will do the same for the steering in this vehicle the next time it happens. Why hasn’t the NHTSA issued a mandatory recall and forced Honda to make this recall happen now. I hope this isn’t a political decision because I know lives are in serious jeopardy with this loss of ability to steer the vehicle with no warning. Lastly, I’ve bought and owned 5 Honda in my lifetime: 3 Honda Accords, 1 odyssey and 1 pilot and I’ve never needs to file a complaint in the past as they’ve always been a reliable, safe vehicle. I’m extremely concerned about this problem and I urge NHTSA and Honda to do the right thing and issue an immediate recall to remedy this issue. You are now aware of this issue in a formal complaint and it appears that there are already several thousand complaints based on what’s online. Please take action.

35 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/26/2023

I have had car serviced faithfully since ownership in 2013. Last visit to dealer I was informed that the vsa modulator control unit has malfunctioned. It’s very concerning that there has not been a recall on this since it impacts brakes, tires, steering. I am requesting a replacement of this modulator at no charge.
