The car does not start consistently. I have replaced the battery two times and the starter. I will turn the key and the engine will not crank over, sometimes it will start up 30 seconds or a minute later after I attempt a couple of times. The Honda mechanic forum is stating that this is a very common problem from owners of this ninth gen Honda Accord.
Unknown. Just off of warranty, vehicle has started to exhibit intermittent failure to crank/ start on an increasing number of occasions. Could leave driver stranded. Turning key 180 degrees, using valet key, and waiting for various periods of time has allowed the vehicle to start ( so far). Research shows Honda replaces starters on 2013 and earlier Accords under a recall, but claims problem has been cured in 2014 and later Accords. An online search for 2014 and later Accords show the problem persists and has not been corrected.
At 104,000 miles the starter on my 2. 4 liter Honda engine began intermittently operating. I ordered a $200 starter online that arrived with damaged connectors and had to take my car to a Honda repair facility. They acquired another starter for $300 and installed it for a total bill of $544. 85. As a disabled retiree, I purchased the Honda Accord due to its reputation for reliability. I need it to be reliable transportation to take me and my wife to doctors appointments and the like, making it a serious health and safety issue for us. I do synthetic oil and filter changes every 5000 miles and rotate my tires at the same time. My plan was to keep this vehicle until the "wheels fell off" but now I'm questioning my decision and Honda's reputation. The original Honda starter core was sent back to autozone where the replacement starter was obtained. There were no lights or indicators of a pending problem with the starter malfunctioning.
The vehicle is taking longer to go into engine mode. It's lagging.
The contact owns a 2014 Honda Accord. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that the engine was consuming approximately 2 quarts of oil in between oil changes. The contact called the dealer where the vehicle was bought however, there was no response. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed him that there was no recall on the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.
We have an intermittent problem with the car starting. We found an online thread on the subject with workaround tricks. Sometimes putting the car in neutral and starting it from there works, but not consistently. What works most often is turn key one notch, wait 3 seconds, turn again and wait until lights go away, then again and then it starts. What is this issue? is there a recall that can fix this issue?.
I have a 2014 Honda Accord 2. 4l ex-l with only 40,000 miles. About two months ago, I started experiencing an intermittent starting problem with the push start button. When I depress the brake pedal and push the start button, all of my normal dash lights come on as if I put it in start mode and I hear one click, but the engine does not turn over. While this does not happen all the time, it happens more than it starts on the first try. When this happens, it can take between 2-6 tries before it finally starts. I replaced the battery 6 months ago, but the issue came recently and is still ongoing. I had the alternator and starter both tested by numerous places and both are testing good.
2014 Honda Accord will not start. I press the brake but it's hard to press down. Push start will not go in to start the car. The car has a brand new battery and the computer system was reset. This is the second time I'm experiencing this with my car. The car does nothing no sound. Everything just lock up.
Several months ago, my Honda that has run very well up until now, started having problems with starting. I took it to advance auto and they thought it was the battery so I bought a new battery for over $200. That didn’t help. Then my husband noticed that the dashboard showed to push the brake, gas pedal and starter at the same time. That didn’t really help because sometimes it starts and sometimes doesn’t. We made an appointment at a local dealer where we purchased the car and the maintenance man suggested a new starter but reading through the complaints on here, that doesn’t always help. So he will cancel our appointment. With so many complaints on here about the car not starting, I think it’s your duty to come up with a resolution that works. Several times I have driven the car to places not near our home and the car won’t start. I think this is an unsafe condition and should be repaired!.
I bought a new Honda Accord 2014. The transmission broke at 47k miles and after it was repaired at nardy Honda it once agin broke down at 75k miles . I have an 7 year warranty on the vehicle and nardy mgt. Extended it to 112k miles . Now in April 2020 the vehicle seems to have engine trouble . I have it towed to another dealership to repair vehicle since nardy was totally closed due to the corona virus. Once at huntington Honda, service mechanic shows me some thing happened to the wires on top of the engine by the fire wall. He stated a rodent may have chewed some wires. The service mgt. Stated I would not be covered and was an unbelievable expensive repair bill. They put some kind of rodent proof tape over the area , but didn't extended the tape another 2 feet to cover the entire back area. When I asked why not the mechanic stated that the tape was expensive. Well 2 weeks later the same problem arose a couple inches where the mechanic failed to e tend the tape. Service mgt stated that they were sorry but you will not be covered for the same repair which in total was over 1000 dollars when the dealership should of repaired the problem the first time . I also learn that Honda had made theses lines eco friendly from 2010 to 2016 where it attracted rodents . I feel I should be compensated for this very expensive repair.
5 times one or more spark plugs failed, causing power loss to gasoline engine, slowing car to a stop. Each time, the car was on the freeway (CA-2), utilizing cruise control. Dealer replaced special spark plugs as a waranty issue. Happened 2x in 2015, 1x in 2017, 1x in 2018, 1x in 2020. The car was climbing a slight grade, weather was variable (cool to hot), always on cruise control, speed never exceeding 60 mph.

Transmission problems with only 76,000 miles.
My car will have moments when it will not start. In order to start my vehicle, I have to keep turning the key into it turns on. My battery and alternator have been check but both are functioning properly. It will do this in various scenarios, if the car is off 5 minutes or 5 hours .
Engine rattles loudly upon startup. Car has been well maintained during entire period of original ownership. Appears to be a major engine issue.
During colder weather and upon cold start engine rattles until car engine is warm.
Defective starter; I'm having issues with the starter. At times my 2014 Honda Accord v6 will not start. After the third time, it will start successfully.
This problem with 2014 h Accord exists since Nov. 2018 (mileage then approx. . 49,000 mi). The starter clicks (battery is full) and nothing is happening. After several attempts the engine typically started. In June 2019 I checked at Honda dealership whether the battery switch recall is the offender. It was not. They could not replicate the issue despite my detailed description how the non-start event happens. In 2019 this issue started showing up with higher frequency just yesterday I got stranded on the road in parking lot. Had to leave car there overnight (attempted to start maybe 20 times with different p-n configurations battery about 13. 6 v) no success the car and starter were dead (1 click only). Came back next morning with towing service. The car started. This issue with malfunctioning starter is on- and -off. Hundreds of people have exactly the same problem with the starter with this h. Accord lx 2014 model. The h. Dealer pretended that they are not familiar with the issue (plenty of complains on the internet which I showed them). I am waiting for oem starter part to be replaced. Car has 61,000 miles now. It is way premature for the starter to develop these types of problems which for me last exactly for one year (Nov. 2018) and creates a real road hazard, especially in winter time. Recall from Honda is necessary. It is systemic issue here.
Vehicle has steering issues even after alignment. Vehicle has issues starting engine.
Parked in store parking lot, veh turned off for aprox 30 min. Vehicle needed multiple tries to start. Repl battery, was better for a week. Needed 8-10 tries to start yesterday. Would just click when turning the key. Taking in to have starter replaced. Vehicle only had 60k miles, should not be needing a starter this soon. Started having issues in the past month.
My 2014 Honda Accord starts by a key fob and push button starter. Recently, the car would take 5-6 attempts to start. . Now it will not start at all. It just will not crank over. I have about 65,000 miles but as I research "starter problems of the 2014 Honda Accord", I get over 70 of the same complaints from one website. Some of the other same complaints with milage from 15,000 to more than 70,000. I called american Honda, 1-800-999-1009, and my case number 10005695. I spoke to andrea on 10/31/19. She said they are aware of this "issue" but cannot do anything I asked how many complaints must they have before they do an official recall. She cannot answer. I asked if they will do anything for me in light of so many complaints? she says no, it is over the warranty. I could not obtain any information as to the cause of the problem not the fix from american Honda.
Push button start will not work. Dash lights up, but doesn't start motor. Push in on brake and pressings the start button many times and it will start. Where are many complaints on the internet. Please help us. You can pull up videos on youtube . There was a recall on the 2013 model.
Experiencing intermittent starting issues. Car usually takes multiple attempts to start. Usually on around the third or fourth attempt it starts, but has taken up to 10-12 attempts or more to start. Keyed ignition, not push button. When it fails to start, engine doesn't crank at all, there is just one single click sound. Took it to the Honda dealer, they said it's most likely a bad starter and quoted around $700 to replace the starter. The car only has 35k miles, which seems very low miles to have starter issues. After looking at all the other complaints about this issue, I believe there should be a recall to address this, as this is clearly a systemic problem. My teenage daughter and wife both drive this car, and I'm very concerned about this issue causing them to be stranded somewhere. That's definitely a huge safety issue. It also doesn't seem fair for me to have to pay $700 to repair an issue that is clearly due to a faulty part, just to a have a car that starts when it's supposed to. All those people who have paid to have the starter issues fixed should be reimbursed by Honda too.
About a week ago I called aaa for service for my 2014 Accord. It would not start. The technician checked the battery and found it to be fine. He then tried to start the car and it started right up. We drove home and had no problems for several days until last Saturday when my wife returned to the car with groceries and uncounted the same problem. My wife is 87 and with the high heat and perishables it was not a pleasant experience. Again, after calling my son for aid, the car finally started and we planned a Monday visit to your enterprise. Since my wife had a doctors appointment at noon, we prayed that the car would start for the trip to the doctor's and then for the drive to the dealership. It started for the first trip and then after about 10 minutes for the second trip to. A car that may or may not start can place people in danger and should be viewed as a safety issue.
When I had oil changed there was no oil showing on dip stick. Car only has 65000 miles.

This generation of Honda has known issue with the push start button to start the car. It sometimes take 3 to 4 or more attempts to start the car successfully. It has a grinding/whirring sound when the engine failed to start. I think it’s a clearance issue between the engine flywheel/torque converter and the starter motor that cause the engine failed to start. I strongly believe Honda should have a recall on this issue to resolve the clearance issue because it’s clearly the engineering design flaw on Honda.
I have been experiencing trouble starting my car recently. I push the start button have my food on the break and it takes a few times sometimes over 4 times to actually start the car. Lights and everything come on when I push to start but the engine is not turning over. Dealership tested battery, alternator, starter, and wiring and everything looked to be working correctly. My car was checked twice for the battery sensor recall issue affecting my make and model and it checked out fine both times.

Hi sandy how are you doing? the strangest thing happened to me yesterday. I was driving my 2014 Honda Accord came to a red light. When I put my foot on the brake the engine accelerated and it was hard to stop the car, so I put the transmission in neutral and the engine raced, I then turned the car off. I restarted the car and it was fine. The dealer tested it over night for 160 miles and could not duplicate. Car was out of warranty, so was charged for service. They did a software update on pcm (main computer) and eps system (steering wheel).
Since the expiration of the vehicle's warranty, the following issues have occurred. Both door locking actuators have failed and require replacement.
