Door Problems of Honda Accord - part 1

The contact owns a 2024 Honda Accord. The contact stated that exterior molding/rubber on the drivers side and passenger side front windows and doors. Had detached. The passenger side lower rear door molding was detached. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who replaced the molding, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 2,000.

Tl the contact owns a 2006 Honda Accord. While the contact was inside the vehicle, both the front driver and passenger doors would not unlock on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to burns Honda (325 rt. 73 n. , marlton, NJ) where it was diagnosed that the seat track and clips were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 33,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the rear passenger door failed to open from inside or outside of the vehicle. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact owns a 2003 Honda Accord. Upon exiting the vehicle, before the passenger exited the front passenger side, smoke appeared within the inner part of the front passenger side door and a fire erupted. The driver and the front passenger were able to extinguish the flames. A fire report was not filed. The dealer was notified. The passenger was burned and had to exit the vehicle through the front passenger side window, which required medical treatment. The failure mileage was not available.

The contact owns a 2014 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the rear passenger side power lock failed to unlock the door. As a result, the door had to be unlocked manually. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the rear passenger side door power actuator failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure reoccurred with the front passenger side and the rear driver side doors. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 45,366.

2007 Honda Accord. Consumer writes in regards to rear doors latch issues. The consumer stated the rear door would not close, despite the several times she tried to close it. She attempted to push the white piece of plastic in the same position as the door, but it would not budge. The door had to be tied with rope, in order for her to proceed home.

The inside door handle of my Honda Accord coupe 2005 stopped working all of a sudden. A passenger riding with me discovered that they could not exit the car because the inside door handle failed to open the door. This was a one time occurrence and the door handle never worked again after that point. The problem was the cable from the interior door handle to the exterior door handle has a defective plastic insert where it attaches to the door panel. Failure of this piece results in the passengers of the vehicle not being able to open the door from the inside. This creates a potential safety hazard in the event of an accident or roll-over. The cable holding the plastic insert had to be ordered and replaced after taking off the door panel.

Both rear doors on my 2008 Honda Accord have defective doo handles on the inside. I can only open the doors from the outside. The first one quit working around mid August 2010, and the other about three weeks after that. I am concerned that if there were a fire after an accident that someone in the bsack seat would not be able to exit the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2008 Honda Accord. The driver side door arm rest cushion fabric tore. The contact planned to take the vehicle to an authorized dealer to have it inspected. Power door locks have been making a loud noise when locked for the past year. Two weeks ago the rear hatch back lock opens and then closes on its own making it impossible to open the hatch. Even if the button is held up manually the hatch will not open. All other four doors work properly.

While driving on normal condition road at the speed between 30 mph to 40 mph, rattle noises can be heard from joint between windshield screen and dashboard. And rattle noise from both doors. It happens after accerlarating then release the gas pedal, while cruising. Driving on freeway, at 65mph to 70mph, suspicious noise from under the car, feel a bit lose control sometimes. Brought to the dealship and they removed the cluster and panels, put on form tape. But noise still exist after repair.

The engine emitted a rotten egg smell. The driver heard a grinding noise. The vehicle also had a brake problem. The driver's seat was not stable. The vehicle has been taken to the dealer at least 9 times for multiple problems. Paint on the hood is flaking. Seat is not fixed. The door panel was fixed twice but problem still exists. Consumer confronted dealership about problem with vehicle but consumer was ignored. Consumer called american Honda to report issue with dealer.

1. Front brakes grind for the first 1-2 stops after sitting overnight or 1-2 hours. 2. Rattle or creaking sound in the drivers side window and b column, unresolved after 3 trys by the dealer to fix. Only present while driving on mildly coarse road surface.

When opening the driver's side door the consumer cut his finger. The dealer was notified.

Driver's side window regulator cable broke. No reason/abuse. Entire unit replaced for $400. 00.

I own a 200 Honda Accord that is causing me to bury my head in the sand. When my spouse and I went looking for a new car 3 years ago, I told him if he wanted a car that lasted long after the last payment to look at a Honda. I am quite surprised at the problems we have encountered. This new one the driver's side window regulator needs replaced. Car has 70k miles on it. I've talked to 2 friends who also own Hondas-same exact problems. $350 to fix. There's got to be a defect somewhere. Please help, we still have $$$ to pay on the car and although I have always wanted a Honda, it's making me second-guess myself.

2003 Accord lx manual transmission has a rattle inside the drivers and passenger doors in the area door lock post. The rattle appears when the car is in motion with windows up or down and doors locked or unlocked. I brought the car to a dealer 3 times to get it fixed however they still were unable to help me.

Driver and passenger door make rattling sounds while driving, as well as the area by the seatbelt, and by driver side mirror in front of car.

Both driver and front passenger doors will not stay propped open. They are very heavy, and when pushed open to either the first or second 'catch', the doors invariably fall back and crush the legs of the person trying to exit the vehicle. Both rear doors stay open, catching and locking properly on either of the two 'catch' points. When we pointed out to Honda dealer while the car was in for a different recall issue, they offered to order a replacement part for over $100 without even looking at the latch mechanism. I believe this is an original flaw with the car that they should repair for free.

While child was getting out of vehicle with with no warning sliding door starts to close causing child leg sto get crushed in between the door, causing injuries. Dealer will be notified.

Driver side seat shakes/moves when accelerating or appling brakes, the dealer replaced the track but the problem still exist, the windshield wipers are sluggish and the left wiper was very noisy and left streak on the windshield, the glove box door would not close properly, the drivers seat belt would not retract intermittently due to the belt being twisted/curled, the left rear door would not close properly, fog lights were out of focus, the air bag light illuminated.

Automatic door locks fail to lock automatically. Consumer manually locks each door instead of one door locking all. Consumer has yet to contact dealer. Power windows inoperable,only the driver side front would work.

When shutting engine off and pulling key out of ignition, automatic door lock would engage and lock doors as soon as consumer pulled on door handle to exit vehicle. Consumer would then have to put key back in ignition, unlock doors, and then exit vehicle. Dealer replaced multi plug system on 8 June 2001. Currently, when consumer pulls key out of ignition and pulls on door handle, doors lock again. Consumer has to insert key in ignition, shift from park to neutral, then engage the unlock door button to exit vehicle. Consumer has not contacted dealer about this new problem yet.

Both front and rear automatic door lock actuators do not operate. This makes it difficult to lock doors or, once locked, to unlock doors. Could present problem in an emergency. My independent mechanic has noticed high frequency of similar failures and said such problem should not exist on car so new with such low mileage.

Automatic locks does not lock when depressing automatic lock on driver's side door. The power door lock was inoperative due to control unit failure.

While driving, oil indicatior light started to falshing. Lost all oil in engine. Balance shaft seal burst. Timing belt and other belts replaced. Cost $700. Also, passenger's side door (front & back) power locks are inop.

Door handle inside of driver's side door fell apart, , door handle jammed. There was difficulty when consumer was in the inside. She had to roll down the window, and then unlock the door on the outside.

Rattling noises coming from instrument panel, center panel and moonroof when going over small bumps at low speed. Driver side door misaligned. Excessive wind noise even at 25mph.

Noticed water accumilation on bottom part of all doors after rainstorms. Water also accumilate directly underneath the bottom of the doors, along the entire plastic molding. Also can hear water dripping slowly within the doors. Also noticed holes on the bottom of each doors, they seem to be there to let water escape. Wont allowing water to be inside the doors damage the speaker, power window motor, and other electrical componants?.

Right rear lock makes grinding noise while locking. When I took it in for service I was told that the door lock actuator would require replacement at a cost to me of $ 198. 00. How common is this at relatively low mileage?.

Passenger door failure.

Interior of vehicle was damaged when delivered from factory (two door panels and back seat covers).

On two occasions the driver's side door was "adjusted" by the dealer for being hard to open.

Power door locks fail intermittently, the doors will not always unlock when the remote button is pushed.
