I bought the car in February 2019, brand new. In July 2020 I noticed the paint peeling chipping. I contacted the dealer on 7/14/20, 7/29/20, 8/12/20. Was repeatedly blown off and was told they were contacting Honda of America. Honda claims that tree sap caused the paint to peel but the independent body shop I brought it to said that there would be other spots of tree sap and that the tree sap would be very difficult to remove from the car. They specifically stated that this is a bold faced lie. I filed a complaint with Honda of America and received a voicemail on 10/7/2020 stating that they were looking into it. I received another voicemail on 10/21/2020 stating that they were standing by the original Honda of America representative that the issue was caused by tree sap. The body shop, geist towing and recovery, stated that it is most likely a manufacturing defect and that since Honda is lying about the actual cause that they would recommend stripping the entire car and repainting. If they were honest only the sun facing surfaces may require repair.
Paint is chipping and peeling on hood, roof, doors and door handles. Car is parked in garage every night and in private parking space at work. Never under a tree or exposed to anything out of the ordinary.
Paint is peeling on the front bumper, trunk, hood, and door handles. Paint appears to be corroding on the door handle and rubs off even more when touched. The problem began with the door handles in 2019 and has now spreaded to other areas of the car. The vehicle was stationary, parked at my home when I noticed the issue. Both in 2019 and on today, 6/19/2020.
On June 15,2020 I washed my car and discovered that the paint on the hood was peeling off. I then took the car to the dealer and they took a picture and sent to Honda corporate. I also faxed my complaint letter to the Honda customer service on 6/18/2020. 6/22/2020 customer service called back and concluded that the peeling paint is not manufacturing defect. Honda refused to provide any written explanation as to why they denied fixing the paint issue when asked for one. A year-old cat's paint should not be peeling off this easily. I own 2 other older Honda vehicles and have had no paint issues. I just discovered that there are numerous complaints in the internet of this paint issues with Honda vehicles 2018-2019. My vehicle is under 5000 miles.

There is a warranty ext. On the paint and Honda corp. Will not cover rental which will take 7 days to repair. It is no fault of my own that the paint is peeling, and I can go with out a car.

New 2019 Honda Accord ex in black with 7000 miles has multiple spots on the roof where the paint is peeling. The car is parked in the garage most of the time.
My 2018 Honda is not driven often. It sits in my yard most of the time. I had it detailed a week ago only to find the paint was peeling on trunk, hood and roof. Horrified at this news I went to social media to see if this had been a problem with other Honda owners. On google I found an article that explained that the paint indeed was peeling. I followed the steps in the article. Took it to the Honda dealership where it was purchased. They of course except no responsibility nor would they read the article. Made them give me written documentation that they were excepting no responsibility. Tried for days to contact american Honda with absolutely no success. Now contacting you.
Paint is flackying from car. Visible areas that can be seeing where paint is peeling away and primer is exposed. I have asked if I could drive car in or send pictures to ensure that this is not do to lack of care. My vehicle looks and runs excellent. Large areas of peeling paint that can easily be seen. I have made several attempts at contacting both the dealership and american Honda, yet I have had no success at a resolution.
I have the white orchard paint and it is peeling from around the edges of my rear roof and side panels. I wash it about once every two weeks with quality reputable products and dry it after. Even taking excellent care of it after 5 years-the paint should not be peeling!.
Clear coat and paint peeling on my brand new 2 weeks old car. Paint is black the car is 2019 Honda Accord. Areas affected are hood, roof and trunk but not limited to other panels. This is serios issue and I am in the process of dealing with my dealership on resolving the issue. . . Nothing was done to the car I purchased it with this probem.
I have a 2015 Honda Accord sport, pearl white color with 48,900 miles. I was washing my car (9/01/19) and I noticed that the paint is chipping on the sides of the rear window channel.
The white paint has begun peeling in the rain channel of the back glass. I am uncertain if this affects the integrity of the back glass. The primer is exposed in several places.
Paint chips and scratches easily. Clearcoat and paint started peeling. The slightest thing will scratch or chip the paint. Scratches on the hood and roof are pretty significantly ( really noticeably due to the car being black). Any little thing that touches the paint seems to damage it. The paint peeled off in multiple spots on the roos and the trunk. Now I can see the actual care metal. I boutgh this car (accord 2018 2. 0 t) in November 2018, and I started noticing all these issues couple months ago, but things got worse very quickly. Contacted dealer and the contacted Honda, but I received the expected answer that they can't do much as this form external environment. I used to have a c 300 black car that I used to park in the same place every day like my Honda and never had these issues.
I purchased a 2019 Honda Accord sport black March 2019, exactly 3 months after these white spots showed up on the top of the car the hood, roof, and trunk. I contacted Honda about the issue and they immediately blamed it on the weather and its sap. I reached out to corporate office first and they told me to take to the dealership that I purchased it from, I did and they said that they were not responsible for the paint chipping the way it is, you parked under a tree, here it is June of 2020 and I am still trying to get something done to my car. I called my insurance company and they agreed to look at the car and the body shop I took it to said they would not touch it, because Honda needs to do something about it, insurance now will not cover it at all. I am lost for words because not only is this a new car it should not be doing this. I can see 10 yrs and neglect but this is not so. I just want my car fix. It should be offered to any customer starting from 2018 to present they need to research it to see how many cars are defected, and they need to be held responsible for it. I reached out to the local news station and I hope something can be done.
Paint is peeling and coming off. It's like there is no clear coat.
Have automatic braking and lane assist driving. Brakes on its own with nothing in front. Happened twice. Dealer calls it a glitch. I call it very dangerous. Police officer was behind me when it happened last. Good thing he had good reflexes and the speed limit was only 45 mph I was in the center of my lane with no obstructions, no vehicles coming from the opposite direction. Turned off the program and haven't used it since. Service department said would have to keep car and test drive until it occurred. I will do this, but am afraid they will be keeping the car for awhile because it happens out of the blue. It's happened twice in a period of two months. I have had the car for four months. Another problem. . Paint is spotting on car like it was hit with acid. Had protective wax put on the week I purchased it. Vehicle has 3500 miles on it. Paint also shows tons of orange peel. I paid a lot for this model. Expected more.
Paint peeling & chipping - six months after I purchased my vehicle (Nov. 2018) the paint started chipping and peeling on the hood, top and trunk of the car. Every time the vehicle is washed, it gets worse, so I'm afraid to wash the vehicle. The spots are visible whether the vehicle is stationary or in motion. Bryan Honda and american Honda have been notified. Nothing was addressed until I reported it to diane wilson with eyewitness news troubleshooter on July 11, 2019. Now bryan Honda wants to communicate with me. I was told that the problem came from tree sap, bird droppings, and/or acid rain. Ridiculous! very disappointed with american Honda, bryan Honda and management. Will never but another Honda!.
My 2012 Honda Accord started having paint issues when it had 80,000 miles on it. I took it into the dealership and both the dealership and american Honda acknowledged there was a problem but refused to fix it. The paint started peeling in the back window well and has now spread to the side of the car. Large paint chips come off exposing bare metal.

Notice large amount of paint chipping off while driving and while parked and washing it with water hose. It's noticeably a bad paint job because it's just 7 years old with large paint patches chipping off.

Noticed some rust on the bumper there is a layer of paint and metal that scraped off from rocks driving down the highway. The under metal has heavy rust it has not snowed here in texas so there is no salt on the roads. We have only had rain. I'm afraid there maybe other parts of this new vehicle that are going to rust like this over time.
Condenser fin defective advised that the condenser fin was damaged from a rock the seat belt locks up, the alternator is causing the battery not to charge, the paint is chipping.
Clear coat and paint has started to chip and peal. This is a common problem with this make year and model and Honda is aware. To no fault of my own needing to get this problem fixed ASAP. At one time a large piece of the clear coat came off and hit my windshield and stuck to my windshield and I had to pull over to remove it from my windshield to avoid having this hazard to myself and others.

Metallic grey paint and sealer has begun to blister and peel away on the hood and trunk. Defect begins as a raised discoloration and then grows in size until sealer and paint just peel away exposing the primer. Many more spots are now appearing and soon will become the same. Condition is similar to a cancer and soon will envelope the painted surfaces.

Burning oil excessively since I have had the car. I never got a recall notice. Having to add a qt or better a week. June 12 it stalled out all the way home from work. That was a Sunday. Just checked the oil on Thursday. Oil was okay in Thursday. On Sunday no oil to show on dipstick. Burnt at least 3 qts in less than 200 miles! drained what little oil was left. Changed filter and put new oil in. Still would not run. Changed spark plugs and it ran better but still has a slight mis. Dtc p0303. The dealership deleted the code and said it wasn't a code in there. Will not do anything. I had it read before I took it there and have a picture of it. The paint has been chipping off for over a year, not where rocks hit. Places that are curved or rounded. Edges of the roof or fender. It's only 6 years old. Honda doesn't stand by either of these issues. Never again will I own a Honda. The car is not leaking oil and it is not smoking. The oil is going some place. And that is causing serious damage to my car. Not to mention the damage that's already been caused. A software update doesn't fix the damage that's been caused already.
