Problem with structure - vehicle making a knocking/crunching noise. Took it to Honda dealership and was advised that the subframe on the front passenger side, below where the ac unit drains, is rusted through. The car was deemed unsafe and inoperable. To the extent that this was the result of a design defect - I. E. , where the ac unit/draining is placed - the manufacturer should be made aware of it and perhaps recall vehicles to protect consumers from injury.

14 Structure problem of the 2013 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 02/13/2013

I have purchased a 2013 Honda Accord touring model. It is equipped with a front collision warning system (fcw) which has a radar sensor in the grille. The system alerts can be set for long, normal or short. When set for long the alert should come on about three car lengths away from the vehicle ahead. If the system determines a collision is possible, it should give both visual & audible alerts, including a heads-up warning that flashes on the windshield. The fcw system is not working as it is described in the owners manual. In fact it only alerts @ random times. I have had the dealers technician check it out on highways, main streets & local streets. He could only get the system to give an alert once when the car ahead was standing at a red light. The alert came when we were about one car length away from the vehicle ahead. He tried it again @ the next red light & it did not give any alert. I have tested the system at all speeds & distances driving behind a car driven by my wife, no alerts. The technician said the system does not seem to be working & he would call american Honda to get information on how the system should work. Have been in touch with american Honda & at this point in time they do not admit that there is a problem. I would have no problem having them or any third party check out the fcw system.

15 Structure problem of the 1999 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/30/2013

These are 2 complaints, first one is the power steering leak on my 1999 Accord, after hearing about possible fire from fluid leak on newer models I was concerned that this could be an issue with older models also. The second is not a safety issue but a quality issue inregards to the clear coat coming off the car. It would be nice if Honda would step up and address these concerns from loyal Honda owners.

25 Structure problem of the 2010 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 11/28/2010

On Sunday, November 28, 2010, upon opening the trunk, the rear cargo area cover dropped down and hit my forehead leaving a large bruised lump. Today is Tuesday, November 30, 2010 and I still have pain and headaches. The cover was completely unhooked with nothing holding it safely in place. There is no locking mechanism for the rear cargo area cover. It appears that the side hooks became unhooked (pressure fit only) and the "mounting pins' are as the fletcher Honda service manager said, only for guidance and alignment. Not to provide support or keep the rear cargo area cover in place. There is nothing to prevent the rear area cargo cover to not fall out and down. And when explaining to fletcher Honda's service manager on Monday, November 29, 2010 the problem and unhooking only one side hook, the cover fell down on that side first, then the other side hook unhooked and the entire cover rell down. The service manager says he has no ability to change designs, however, he said he will pass this information onto his Honda rep. I was given a 1-800 number to call. Today, November 30, I called and this information is to be given to a Honda case manager within 1-2 business days. Also - previous complaint was filed -- 10368291. I provided the wrong VIN as I was looking at our Buick's insurance card, not the Honda crosstour. Correct VIN is supplied with this revised complaint.

27 Structure problem of the 2008 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 04/12/2010

I have a 2008 Honda Accord ex-l I picked up new in the fall of 2007. To date I have just over 30,000 miles. Today, (4/12/10) I took my car to my local Honda dealership for an oil change. I was told that my rear brakes were at 5% and repair cost would be $330. 00!!! I mentioned I paid an additional $2,200. 00 for an "extended warranty "on top of the $28,000. 00 sticker price back in 2007. Today I asked the Honda advisor what does my $2,200. 00 "extended warranty" cover? he said nothing mechanical. By this point I did not want to argue, but rather I paid the $38. 13 for my oil change and left. Also with my previous oil change maybe 3 months ago with about 29,000 miles I was also told my rear brakes were somewhere around 15% and I think the Honda dealership quoted me around $300. 00. I am definitely a named party in the gibbs lawsuit as of 12/17/09. I have not paid to fix my rear brakes yet. Other problems I am having is my navigation freezes up, I have this rattling sound in my front drivers door, my front passenger door sounds like it is not closed all the way because I hear road noise, and twice now my wipers have continued to stay on even though I turned them off or the wipers will be "delayed" even though the wipers are off, my glove box is misaligned on the right hand side and at times when I am pulling into the garage with my foot off of the gas pedal, the car will accelerate forward a little. I am finished with this car!!!! my 2008 Accord is my 3rd Accord and by far the most obnoxious lemon I have ever owned. My 1986 and 2000 Accords were more "Honda" than my 2008 Accord. I am thoroughly disgusted with Honda's caring integrity.

28 Structure problem of the 2010 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 03/01/2010

2010 Honda Accord crosstour. Consumer states design defect impedes proper rear view vision. The consumer stated the rear window of the vehicle has a heavy bar running horizontally in the middle of the window. The bar may have been required for the structure of the rear door, but it substantially blocked the rear vision for the driver.

29 Structure problem of the 2000 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 02/13/2010

2000 Honda Accord v6 4 door sedan, wanted to report the drivers side Honda carpet jams under the brake and gas pedal.

30 Structure problem of the 2008 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 02/10/2010

Whenever the vehicle is exposed to water, water leaks in through a sunroof drainage tube, entering the vehicle adjacent to the rear, passenger side airbag. Per Honda, it was caused by a leaf entering the drain, and is something I risk happening anytime this sunroof is open, operating under "normal use. " as confirmed by Honda, because their sunroof cassette design allows for this, there is nothing I can do to mitigate the risk, and there is no way I can be aware that it has happened until the damage is done. Additionally, nowhere in any manual does it warn owners of this risk, the possible effects, and actions to take. Per Honda, it may occur again, but all I can do is wait and see if it happens again, in which case they'll 'fix' it the same way, and at the owner's expense. The drains were disassembled and cleaned, and it was confirmed that no damage had yet occurred to the airbags, electrical, upholstery (mold), or metal (rust/corrosion). Honda is not able to provide any recommended maintenance actions (in addition to their standard recommendations, which do not address this issue), thus the problem is likely to continue to occur.

31 Structure problem of the 2008 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 04/01/2009

2008 Honda Accord ex with a couple issues. One issue is water setting around the door seals when it rains and there are water stains. Paint seems to scratch easily.

32 Structure problem of the 2008 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 11/01/2008

I to have a 08 Accord exl 4 cyl and so far I have a list of things wrong with the car. 1. The famous vibration 2. Terrible fuel mileage 3. Lights flashing to the extent that people are high beaming me [that's fun] 4. Drivers seat jerks and moves real slow 5. Wind noise on r/h front of car 6. Hard starting in cold weather 7. Gear shift rattles 8. R/h front door rattles 9. A banging in the trunk over moderate bumps or railroad tracks [there is nothing in there] 10. Squeaking and sometimes grinding brakes 11. Right front shock bangs at times 12. When you push the accelerator about one third of the way the car bogs until about 3 thousand rpm's then doubles and triples in power.

33 Structure problem of the 2008 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 10/21/2008

2008 Accord coupe purchased 3 months ago, 4800 miles; whining sound that worsened over a week. Power steering fluid level well below the lowest acceptable level. Replaced with Honda power steering fluid. No signs of leakage under car. The Honda service department examined the car today and says the steering rack must be replaced. They confirmed that Honda will cover all charges. Not what I expected of my first Honda.

34 Structure problem of the 2008 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 10/06/2008

Headliner had to be replaced on my 2008 Accord lx because raw edges were showing at weather stripping on all doors. Original dealer had car all day for repair. Three days later, the driver side sun visor fell on my head while driving on the parkway at high speed (knocked off my glasses). This could have caused an accident since I swerved after visor hit me. Went to different dealer for repair and it took two tries before they attached visor properly. They admitted that 2008 Accords now use plastic latch instead of 2 screws (civics still use screws), so it breaks easily. Honda should acknowledge and change back to the metal screws. The pleasant attitude that Honda is famous for is missing.

35 Structure problem of the 1999 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/27/2008

We have a black 1999 Honda Accord that has a severe paint/clear coat issue. We have taken great care of this vehicle, keeping it garaged and washed and waxed on a regular basis. We contacted Honda regarding this issue and they told us that "it is our responsibility as the owners to take care of our car". They also told us that because of the age of the car, paint issues 'happen' and they don't offer service on that old of a car. That is ridiculous. We just had it in to fix the ignition that was under a recall, and they tell us that they don't offer service on that old of a car? my wife and I are extremely frustrated at how we have been treated over this. The car has a defect in the clear coat finish that was backed up by our local service tech who said it wasn't sprayed on thick enough, thus the problem.
