From what I can tell this is not a safety issue. Just bought 2006 Accord se mid April taking delivery a week later. Returned the vehicle today after long trip to bordering state in which the connection at the door panel of the shoulder safety belt rattles right into the drivers left ear. Had this trip been taken within the 5 day period after taking delivery and been told it was something which could not be fixed, it would have been returned to the dealer for return of our 99 Acura. Now I have a brand new car with rattle at my left ear and most unhappy. I love driving and this takes away driving pleasure. This is not the first Honda we have owned but may well be the last! we have praised the Honda products when asked about our thoughts and feelings on Hondas, as husband had Acura which was traded in for this vehicle. Was also told this is common problem and has been for a few years. We had 87 civic, 90 Accord se, 99 Acura, and 97 Accord se. This is first time we have had a problem that was not fixed!!!! had the feeling since does not affect how the car runs or safety factor, it is nothing.

Sirs: we have had two problems with our 2000 Accord ex from time of purchase that our dealer, crown Honda, has been unable to resolve. The first problem is the car has a stutter within the first mile driven when started. The second is a problem with the supplemental restraint system.

Rear seat belts on both sides have frayed in identical places, where the shoulder belt enters the housing in the seat. Plastic "guard" is sharped edged, and has cut 1/2" into each seat belt. Showed to dealer during routine mtc. They claimed they hadn't seen anything like this ("did you close it in the door?" "no, we hardly use the back seats at all, since only two adults ride/drive this car. ") they agreed to one round of replacement under warranty, but we expect it may happen again.
While driving at about 60 on the highway another car hit consumer's vehicle in front at about 60mph. Upon impact, airbags did not deploy, and consumer's seat belt didn't hold.

Because srs warning light did not go off after starting vehicle , it was taken to dealership. Dealership believes that the problem is with the seat belts. Vehicle has been at the dealership for a month waiting for part(s) to correct this problem. The dealer installed temporary replacement but it failed within a month.
Unless the front passenger seat is in the full-back position, and has been pushed hard to lock it into position, it is very difficult to get it to lock in position if the position is changed when a passenger enters the rear seat. The result is that after the front passenger is seated and the car begins to move, the seat will usually freely move forward or backward, unless the passenger has figured out how to move the seat fore-aft lever down into the locked position while gently moving the seat forward or back. Normally I warn passengers of this problem, but none seem able to accomplish the locking of the seat in a midway fore-aft position without endangering the knees of the rear seat passenger. I have not taken the car into the dealer yet due to time constraints, and no one has been injured because I have warned them about the seat. Still, this car should not have left the factory without the passenger seat lock working easily and predictably.
Engine check light went on twice. Took vehicle to dealer, and they said fuel filler: cap was not on properly. Then, it was electrical system causing engine light to come on. A week later, srs light came on, indicating something wrong with airbag and seatbelts.
Fuel gauge never read full, on a full gas tank. Dealer replaced fuel sending unit, which resolved the problem. Driver's side seat belt gets caught on the release lever of the seat-back while seat belt is buckled. This severely restricts the of movement of the driver. When this happens, I am strapped very tight in the seat until I can manage to remove the seat belt part that is stuck to the release lever.
I did not think much of my defective seatbelt system until I saw that Honda Accords have already been recalled (97v220000) for this system. My problem is that the belt locks up during normal driving. What I mean is it locks up , holding the person in securely-in fact too tight so that the person cannot move without getting held in even tighter(like a boa constrictor). So since there is no accident ocurring the passenger removes the seat belt to "free" themselves up and re-fasten. Well what if an accident occurs at this same time ? I did get the belt replaced in a week or so for free. So I am concerned that maybee others need to get checked out. Thanks for this easy site and service. Prosperity to you all.
Seat belt locked up and tightened, consumer had to cut to release.

Seat belt not long enough for my daughter in law to use. Contacted dealer. Was told Honda doesn't make extentions like Ford does. Can you help with this?.
The safety restraint light stays on.
Seat belt design allows for belt to wrap around the release lever and get stuck.
I feel there is a serious safety problem with the rear seat belts. When you put them on, they lock tight around your neck and you can not loosen them unless you unhook them and let the belt go all the way back. I went to the dealer today to see if this was a defect and was told that this is what they are suposed to do. If these belts do not give during a collision, they will break your neck or choke you to death. Please advise. I thought seat belts were ment to be adjustable.
Car was taken to the moreno valley Honda and spreen Honda regarding transmission problems and we were told that the transmission was fine. My husband owns a transmission repair shop and had to tell spreen Honda what was wrong with the transmission. I finally called Honda's main office and it took them about a week to remedy the problem. Home office contacted the dealer and requested the transmission be replaced. Spreen Honda had the car for several weeks and did not offer rental car or reimbursement. Terrible customer service all around. My husband could have fixed the problem but the car was about 2 years old and under warranty when the problems started to occur. The brakes are constantly squeeking even after replacement. The material on the rear interior door handles has melted. Passenger seat belts are extremely tight. This 2000 Honda Accord se has been a total disappointment. Dt.
The seat belt is not big enough. The dealer has inform me that Honda does not have an extension for the seat belt, it is illegle to drive anywhere but my state without the seat belt fasten.
Shoulder and lap belt combination had to be cut off the child because the seat belt became so tight that it nearly strangled the child. Please give any further details.
Not able to wear weat belts, not big enough , there is no extension avability.
Seat belt too tight across chest of consumer. Nlm.
Seat belt design allows for continued tightening when movement is felt, causing a very uncomfortable tight feeling on consumer.
Seat belts failed during collision causing injuries.
Passenger side front seat belt gets stuck. Passenger must unbuckle seat belt and retract it completely and then rebuckle it. This always happens whenever a passenger is in the vehicle since the vehicle was new.
The consumer can't buckle the hi-back booster seat into the car's seat belt system. The consumer feels that there should be a 2 inch extension added. The consumer states that her grandchildren has to use the booster seats until they reach the weight of 80 lbs. They are 3 1/2 and 5 1/2, and the consumer doesn't want anything to happen to them.
