Failure Date: 07/20/2025

I noticed a loud grinding noise and reduced braking power coming from my 2020 Honda Accord while driving at normal city speeds. A local mechanic inspected it and found that the rear brake caliper was sticking and causing premature wear. I contacted Honda service, but they refused to cover the cost or inspect it under goodwill, even though similar issues have been reported with other Honda models. This issue puts my safety at risk as braking is compromised and steering becomes harder. The problem was confirmed by a local certified mechanic and is available for inspection if needed.

Failure Date: 06/06/2025

My 2018 Honda Accord has become unsafe to drive. The car will not go over 15 mph, all the warning lights on the dashboard are on, and the engine and transmission feel shaky. The entire car shakes when I try to drive it, and it seems like multiple systems are failing at once. This happened suddenly and has made the car undriveable. My safety was put at risk because the loss of power happened while I was on the road. The problem has been looked at by my independent mechanic, but it has not been resolved. The vehicle is available for inspection.

6 Suspension problem of the 2013 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 05/07/2025

I had my passenger drive shaft broken in may 2025, and there's a recall for the same issue for my model announced in June 2025. I had to change my shaft with an aftermarket part due to emergency during that time. Now, after the recall was announced I went to mccarthy Honda overland park for replacement. But the service personnel said that they don't see any dynamo on either of the shafts and denied recall. Then I told the front desk lady(alyssa waller) that I have replaced it in may due to emergency. She said that they don't do repairs if there is an aftermarket part and she was really rude. I was trying to understand the situation and trying to be very calm but her rudeness made me very upset with the overall service. Finally it's the thing they refused to do the recall even though I showed a picture of my broken shaft.

Vehicle drives fine but a week ago the steering, traction, abs, & brake lights all lit up on my Accord's dashboard. Took car to our regular mechanic, who then conducted diagnostic testing. This in turn, indicated that the abs control module is the cause. Steering, traction, & braking are quite vital in the safe manuerving of stopping & controlling a vehicle in motion. If unable to manageable do so, I, as well as many others are potentially at risk.

10 Suspension problem of the 2024 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 02/17/2025

Turning the wheel causes a popping and crackle type of noise. The sound is continuing to worsen and I can hear it from inside and outside of the car. Local Honda dealer told us there isn’t a replacement part as of now and this is a factory defect that hasn’t been recalled at the present time. I feel it could be a safety issue related to the ability to steer and control the car when it sticks or pulls.

12 Suspension problem of the 2024 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/07/2024

I purchased this vehicle in January 2014 and it’s been giving problems since then. I have replaced the gas cap twice because it always gets stuck and I’m unable to open the door. I spoke to the Honda dealer where I purchased and they told me to contact american Honda. I have replaced my tires twice because once it blew on the freeway and the other time on the street out of nowhere. I’m currently at the dealer because the tpms light came on yesterday and I’m afraid to drive the car with my small children and the service director told me there’s no staff to assist me and I might have to wait over 3 hours to take a look at my car. He said the recall for the steering wheel is not a safety issue. Every time I park and rotate the steering wheel it makes a squeaky sound and I’m tired of dealing with issues on a vehicle that I leased less than a year ago. Please help, I use my car to drive my kids to school.

16 Suspension problem of the 2024 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 10/01/2024

It seems like the steering gear assembly is making a popping/clicking noise when stopped or at slow speeds. This has been diagnosed by an independent shop and inspected by a Honda master technician and confirmed that the steering gear assembly has an internal issue. It was informed to me to have the car immediately serviced at the dealership due to a major safety concern to myself and others on the road as if the steering gear were to malfunction it could cause a crash. There are no warning lamps or any messages on the dashboard that has popped up. And there has been no other symptoms leading up to this issue. The vehicle is also available for inspection upon any request. No insurance representatives, police have inspected the vehicle.

17 Suspension problem of the 2019 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/25/2024

The issue I have been having since I bought the car has been a wobble/vibration from the front end. Took the vehicle in to planet Honda rt22 in union NJ, where they told me my factory rims where bent which was false. I ended up selling my factory rims and buying a pair that I liked same size as factory. I put new wheels and tires on same problem. I then went back to the dealer ship for a second time told me they heard the bearings and proceeded to replace them as I approved the work. Received vehicle drover for a couple days same issue went back for a third time and the technician stated my rims are bent again. I then became very upset as to if the tech knew how to diagnose a vehicle correctly. Took car back drove it for almost a year with the vibration and wobble got car aligned several ties since the car started drifting and pulling both ways. Went and took vehicle in to my personal mechanic where he showed me the front wheel bearings and intermediate shaft and bearing are bad. Went back to Honda on [xxx] with repeat concern with the same issue. Took the dealership 5 hours to assign my vehicle to a tech that has no clue on how to inspect a vehicle bad for business. So dealership got back to me and stated that since vehicle was lowered they where not going to replace or fix the issues that are present I bought the vehicle used certified from them at 23k miles and have been having this issue since vehicle was purchased. I drive my wife and my 3 year old daughter in this car and with a car that has no control or stability and puts my family at risk just because they dont want to do a warranty job. I do have proof of bearings being replaced so they say also have proof of head gasket failure injector failure high pressure pump failure in tank pump failure. Just have no way to upload. 20 Suspension problem of the 2002 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/07/2024

The right side of the main front subframe of the car broke. The subframe on the right side was completely rusted out and corroded away. However, the left side of the subframe was perfectly intact with no damage and only minor surface rust. The car has only 50,000 miles on it. When the subframe broke my friends [xxx]aunt [xxx] old) was driving and the right side of the car dropped down and the steering was compromised. The broken subframe resulted in a loss of control of the car but an accident was avoided thankfully due to her only driving at low speeds. They took the car to an independent mechanic, who welded some support brackets to the subframe to get the car to move. After doing some research, I found multiple forums, websites, videos, and repair tsbs about this issue. The failure occurred because of an engineering failure of the placement of the hvac evaporator drain hose. The hose drips the draining moisture right onto the right side of the subframe. Over time, this trapped moisture leads to corrosion and rust formation on the subframe. The corrosive effect weakens the structural integrity of the subframe, which caused the subframe to break under normal driving conditions. A mechanic has inspected and patch repaired the subframe. I am willing to have the car inspected if requested. There were no symptoms before the failure, it happened all of the sudden. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
