Air Bag Not Deploy problems of the 1999 Honda Civic

The contact owned a 1999 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while traveling west bound at 45 mph, there was another vehicle who had jumped into the left lane without using his turn signal. The contact proceeded to accelerate into the left lane as a result, the contact collided with the other vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained two fractured rib, shoulder and concussion due to his head collided with the steering that required medical attention. The contact stated that the other driver did not sustained injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard. The contact also mentioned that there was property damaged. The vehicle contact insurance deemed the vehicle as totaled. The VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 20v026000 (air bags). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

My girlfriend was involved in an accident where she rear ended a SUV causing total front end damage to my vehicle. The problem I have is the airbags never deployed ,and my girlfriend had to go to the hospital for chest pain. The car is a 1999 Honda Civic lx 4dr.

During a 35 mph rear end collision, the front air bags did not deploy. The consumer had the vehicle towed. The consumer suffered minor injuries. Please provide more information.

While traveling on the highway vehicle struck an object sitting in the road that appeared to be a cargo carrier top, and the air bags did not deploy. Consumer struck his head on the vehicle roof and sustained spinal injury. Consumer did not go to the emergency room. However, the family physician made this diagnosis.

I was traveling about 25 mph and was hit head-on by a driver in a Ford taurs traveling about 40 mph in the wrong lane. Both air bags in the tarus deployed and mine, in the 1999 Honda Civic did not deploy. The impact of the crash has caused injuries to my chest from the seatbelt which probably could be expected, and saved my life; and injuries to my neck and back from the forward thrust caused by the head -on impact. But, the air bags should have deployed in the Honda. It is unreasonable to think they would not deploy based on the degree of the impact . The Honda body shop manager said the other car hit the Honda above the frame rails, which is why they did not deploy. If that is the case, the air bags will not deploy in most crashes that this vehicle is involved in. This is a vehicle design defect. I have digital pictures of the damaged Honda . Was traveling 50mph and had rearended a cougar. Upon impact with other vehicle, both air bags failed to deploy. Driver suffered some injuries, and received emergency room treatment.

Consumer was traveling approximately 45 mph on I-75, there was construction on the side and traffic was stopped over a hill, consumer did not see stopped traffic and rearended a vehicle, upon impact the driver and passenger airbags did not deploy, the seatbelts failed causing the driver and passenger to hit the windshield.

Consumer was driving at 55 mph applied brakes suddenly to avoid accident, but still vehicle did not stop in time, and ended up hitting vehicle that pulled out in front unexpectedly. Upon impact, dual airbags did not deploy, vehicle was totaled.

While driving at 30 mph both airbags deployed, there was no pothole on road, did not hit bump either. Dealer told airbags do not deploy without a collision, and to see her insurance company.

While driving 40-45mph had a frontal impact, but driver's and passenger's airbags did not deploy, which won't protect the occupants in the crash. No prior problem with this system. Please provide further information.
