I took my car in this morning for a recall. For the fuel pump. It took the dealership very little time to get my car out which was strange for me because originally they told me it would take 4-5 hours. Following the recall I needed gas since I was told to have a little under half a tank. I was on empty following the procedure. While I was pumping gas I had my hand help on the pump. There was not automatic pump enabled. My car keep taking the gas which was weird and then suddenly I saw gas leaking from my fuel point. I stopped the pump instantly. I soon called Honda but there was no pick up for a long time so I began driving a 3 mile trip from my gas station to the dealer. I started with 365 miles of gas remaining. Once I got to the dealer I had 355 miles remaining. Never in the years I have had that car have I seen my car consume so much gas especially on such little trip. Arrived at Honda. They are very nonchalant about the issue and I do not want them to rush the fix and create more damage and a bigger issue.

The contact owns a 2017 Honda Civic. The contact stated that a gasoline smell was detected in and around the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. This is an obvious safety risk. The vehicle was driven to the closest independent repair shop and diagnosed with fuel pump crack/failure. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 23v858000 (fuel system, gasoline) but the VIN was not included. The local dealership was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 88,000.

Was driving and vehicle broke down. Pulled a code p0087 which has to do with fuel pressure and do to all the fuel pump recall and everyone else’s experience, I believe the 2020 ex Civics need to be recalled as well. Put my life in danger breaking down while diving down the road.

On my way to work my car stalled while being driven. I lost the ability to maintain my speed and my car decelerated to a stop in the lane of traffic. The car would not move forward and would not start after it was turned off. I was stopped in the right lane of traffic on a four lane highway during morning rush-hour traffic. A police officer had to remain behind my car in the lane of traffic with their lights on until a tow truck arrived to prevent an accident. My car could not be moved due to the high rate of speed of the cars traveling around it and cars had to merge quickly into the open lane. There were several near accidents while waiting for the tow truck. There were no warning signs or messages that the car had an issue. The mechanic the car was towed to believes the problem is with the fuel gauge and stated they had recently repaired several cars with this issue that were the same or similar base model and year as my car. When inspected the car was found to be out of fuel and, after fuel was added to the car, the cars computer system showed a higher amount of fuel then was put into the car. At the time of the incident, the car showed three or four bars of fuel left on the dashboard fuel display and about 40 miles until empty on the digital display range. The police officer at the scene observed the that the car was showing that it was not out of fuel. The component or system is available for inspection upon request. This issue is similar to a previously repaired recall that effected this car with the fuel pump which stated that the car could be prevented from starting or cause a vehicle to stall while being driven, increasing the risk of a crash. The car is regularly maintained, kept in good working condition, and is mainly used to travel to and from work.
Today my 19 year old daughter was driving and her car just died in the middle of the road. And it wouldn’t start back up. It finally did start and she was able to pull over out of traffic. This is a huge safety issue and about the 20th time this has happened to my daughter. It is maybe even happen more. I fill out one of these reports every time and I don’t feel like my voice is heard or that anybody cares. One of these times somebody is going to hit my daughter and I hope she doesn’t die due to an accident. This is a huge safety issue and I know there is a safety recall on fuel pumps. Just not my daughter‘s model. She needs this fuel pump fixed and replaced and Honda needs to pay for it. Every other 2020 Honda has a fuel pump recall except my daughter’s model and I think that this issue happening about 20 times warrants a recall. Would Honda rather fix the fuel pump or have somebody get into a serious accident because they didn’t. We don’t have the money to just buy another car or pay to get it fixed as it is expensive and I know that other cars are being fixed for free under the recall. If this is the wrong site to to bring this issue forward and have something be done please somebody let me know so I can address the correct people. Like I said I have filled this out about 20 times and nobody has ever contacted me or got back to me.
Safety recall #23v-858 received through usps indicating that parts are now available at dealership. Not true. On 12/04/24 vehicle was serviced at conicelli Honda, 1200 ridge pike, conshohocken, PA 19428. 610-832-1400. Service advisor advised that the safety recall parts are not available for installation. On 12/05/24 a follow up call received from the service manager indicated that conicelli Honda has not received any safety recall parts since the notice was announced. There appears to be a disconnect between corporate Honda and the dealership. Your attention with this matter is greatly appreciated. To whom it may concern, how are you? the reason for me contacting you today is because I am really not happy with the false advertising that Honda has done to me. You see, I recently purchased a 2025 Honda Civic hybrid sport touring because it was advertised on Honda's website (and still is) that the fuel tank capacity is 12. 4 gallons. However, today when I went to fill up my new car for the first time after 346 miles, which I thought was quite strange since I should be getting over 400 miles if this was a 12. 4 gallon tank, I only was able to put in 8. 374 gallons after the fuel light came on. Why is this? if the car is rated to have a 12. 4 gallon tank, then I should be able to put in closer to 12. 4 gallons. Probably around 11 gallons because of the reserve. What I think happened is that someone screwed up and put the 12. 4 gallon fuel tank capacity from the non-hybrid version of this vehicle instead of the hybrid one, which for the sedan is 10. 6 gallons. Knowing this, I would never have purchased the vehicle. This is false advertisement! to the point, where I thought today I should have put more fuel into my vehicle even after the pump stopped because I should be near the 12. 4 gallon capacity. I believe this is a safety issue/concerns if someone thinks this as well. So what do I do now in this situation?! I thought I was purchasing a vehicle with a 12. 4 gallon capacity and now I know it's false. I have a screenshot of this, which is attached and also a screen recording also that I will be keeping for my records. Thank you, [xxx] . The open recall repair (NHTSA 23v-858) has not been completed. Additionally, there is a separate open recall, NHTSA recall number 25e-071 (manufacturer recall mmz), involving 18-inch Honda genuine accessory wheels with improperly installed lug seat inserts. Both recalls remain unresolved. Beginning in approximately 2024, the vehicle exhibited intermittent jerking and stalling during acceleration, along with loss of smooth power delivery. No warning lamps were illuminated prior to failure. The vehicle was inspected in July 2025 after wilkes-barre Honda declined to provide assistance, and it passed inspection at that time. In October 2025, the engine failed to start, and the vehicle became fully non-operational. The insurance carrier was notified in October 2025 that the vehicle had become inoperable. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, law enforcement, or the insurance company. It is currently available for inspection but is not safely drivable. Loss of power while driving presents a risk of collision. Multiple attempts were made to schedule an appointment with wilkes-barre Honda regarding the outstanding recall; however, no response was received. The manufacturer was also contacted on several occasions, but no meaningful assistance was provided. Despite repeated requests, the dealership has not conducted a formal inspection or confirmed the cause of the failure. The vehicle has remained inoperable for several months. Under these circumstances, asking me to arrange towing is not reasonable, as delays in addressing recalls have created additional practical barriers to accessing necessary transportation and resources. *note: I've included a phone number for this complaint but do not have one. Additionally, lack of vehicle access due to unresolved recalls had already created practical barriers in obtaining one.
I was informed of recall on my 2018 Honda Civic. I have called my local dealership - lees summit Honda, since receiving the recall notification. I was told there was a national shortage on parts and my vehicle could not be fixed and to call back next month. I have been calling monthly since receiving the recall notification. I just received an "important safety recall" notice in the mail from Honda detailing the safety consequences of not repairing my vehicle and advising "parts are now available and you can bring your vehicle in for a free repair. " I again called my local Honda dealership and was told the parts are not available. I advised that I have been experiencing an acceleration issue after slowing down, such as when I slow down to make a turn. I was told that I could bring my vehicle in for diagnostic but if it is the recall issue they have to keep my car for safety. They do not have loaner vehicles but offered a rental for $50/day and no indication how long it would be before my vehicle would be repaired. Currently I have been waiting 10+ months (300+ days). If the repair takes another 300 days that would cost me $15,000 plus my monthly car payment. I believe Honda is encouraging people not to bring in their vehicles for repair, instead to continue driving a vehicle with known safety concerns.
Received safety recall in mail for fuel pump module. Letter from 10/2024 says that "parts are now available and you can bring your vehicle in for a free repair. " called Honda oakland to get part replaced. Honda oakland worker colin said letter is incorrect, that no parts are available and to wait for another letter in mail. Called san leandro oakland because thought that colin's comment was strange. Letter already says "parts are now available. " it wouldn't make sense for me to wait for another letter. Turns out colin from Honda oakland provided misinformation, which could have gotten me into a car accident waiting for another letter that would never come and waiting for months and months to get my fuel pump replaced. Thankfully, confirmed with san leandro oakland that parts are available and ok to take car in immediately. Honda oakland needs to provide correct info to customers, and not tell them to "wait for another letter. " they should have just said to check with another dealership if they didn't have the part available. Although, it's strange they don't have the part available, when the recall letter I received says "parts are now available. " please contact Honda oakland to stop misinforming customers to "wait for another letter in the mail," which doesn't even make sense, since I already got a letter saying parts available. Dangerous comment to customers. Perhaps Honda oakland just doesn't want to deal with recalls? need to file this complaint to protect other customers who might have listened to colin and waited several more months for another letter that would never come. They should just tell customer to check with another dealership.
When I got the car, my insurance made me aware of the recall and I asked them if it was fixed they said yes but that was not the case, they straight lied to my face about something that could danger my life and the life of others.
This was such a strange occurance. After pulling off from a stop sign attempting a right turn, my vehicle stalled, readjusted, then stalled again. I was driving on a cobblestone road while it was raining, but did not find any issues with vision or traction. However, during this process, my passenger airbag deployed out of nowhere causing me to immediately stop the car to see if I had hit something. There was nothing under or beside my car indicating any significant impact that would have caused this to happen. There were no other cars, or any pedestrians involved, nor any debris or blockade in the road so I did not file a police report or contact my insurace. My sister was in the passenger seat, and my 3 children in the back. No one sustained any injuries, but the entire incident was extremely startling, shocking, and confusing. There is no damage on my car that suggests I hit something, but I have no idea what could have caused an airbag to deploy, and why only that one? being that I was pulling off on a turn, I was not going fast enough for me to think that the cobblestone could have set off a "pothole like" effect to the sensors. After research revealed there have been recalls on previous models concerning the takata airbags, I reached out to a local Honda dealer for help. The associate immediately disregarded my account of the incident stating that "there hasn't been any recalls on the 2018 Honda Civic" and that I should "take it to a body shop and see if the insurance will take care of it". I assumed he had no intention of helping me at all because I had reached the service department with a Honda service issue, so why would he not at least offer to have me bring it in to be fix there, even if I had to pay out of pocket? this lead me to do further research in which I found that there is in fact a current recall on the fuel pump, which is known to cause issues with stalling. I feel misled by Honda, and would like an explanation, as well as accountability.
I received a recall notice in the mail dated October 2024. The notice sent to inform me that these parts are now available and I can bring my vehicle in for a free repair. I scheduled my repair appointment on 11/08/2024 at 7am to john hinderer Honda in heath, OH 43056. When I arrived they told me they have not received any parts. They don’t know when they will receive them. The service department did acknowledge that they had some parts but were saving them for any breakdowns. I found this recall letter misleading. I have attached this letter to this complaint.
Our local dealer, hall Honda in virginia beach va has not been able to repair this recall in a timely manner. It has been over 6 mo. This is the only place I could find to report a complaint. Your website does not make it clear where to go to submit a concern or complaint.
Reached out to hill country Honda, san antonio texas since the inception of this recall, approximately 2 years ago, and when I received Honda notifications to contact dealer for scheduling. Received another notification from Honda, today, November 4, 2024 and service advisor at hill country Honda stated they do not have the part and do not know when they will be receiving and to k=just keep checking in to see if they have the part. This is unsafe, disapointing, and just bad business practice from both Honda and hill country Honda.
Honda motor CO. Has not made replacement parts available. This recall is 8 months old, is a severe safety risk and dealers are unable to provide any estimates for when parts will be available. Although we have received a letter stating parts are available dealers tell us to call on Monday to see if replacement parts have been received. For an important safety recall, this situation is untenable.
My car has one recall part . It say :american Honda motor CO. , inc. (Honda) is recalling certain 2016-2021 model year Civic vehicles. The fuel pump impeller was improperly moulded, resulting in low density impellers. Over time, the low-density impeller can deform and interfere with the fuel pump body, rendering the fuel pump inoperative. I tried to contact some Honda dealer but they don't have the part to replace please help me out thank you so much.
Several occasions between September, and now the car had difficulty starting. I towed it to two different Hondas, bowie, darcas and Honda in silver spring and nobody was able to help me even though they claim to have done diagnostics on the car.
Engine began misfiring and would deliver inconsistent power. The fuel injector was faulty and leaked gas into the engine oil.
Lean fuel code all lights come on -on dashboard coming on and off.

Honda failed to notify me of a fuel pump recall and has failed to replace or fix it within a reasonable time frame. Honda still have not given a timeline of when they will be able to fix the recall and told me to “figure it out” if I want it done sooner.
I called Honda as part of the recall issued on 12/13/2023. But they said they don't have the parts to honor my recall issue.
It’s almost been a year since the recall came out. The dealerships are saying Honda hasn’t issued any parts. Called the marysville service center, was told Honda wasn’t fixing any cars unless having problems. Am I supposed to wait until something happens, get in an accident???.
Car has delayed cranking time. Recently got a new car battery but car has weak, struggling and delayed start up. Video proof has been sent to dealership since issue could not be reproduced while car was there for 4+ hours recently. Recall on fuel pump in the past. Other vehicle models are on current recall list but mine is not. I fear that my car will stall while driving or I will become stranded on the road due to this issue.
The vehicle had a light for emissions. Brought to Honda dealer. Charged me for two diagnosis fees. The tank / neck and fuel pump all rusted out at connection. No rust under or on the vehicle. Obviously the manufacturer has poor quality tank. This does not happen on 8 yr old vehicle and they want $4500 to fix.
Once again while driving on the interstate at highway speed the car lost power and then died. At first it wouldn’t start and then finally did where it could be slowly driven to an exit for safety. I 100% think this vehicle needs included in the fuel pump recall! this is probably the 30th time it has done this. This is my 19 year old daughter’s car and it is very unsafe. We bought a Honda because we heard they are very good and safe and reliable cars. This hasn’t proven to be that! we can’t afford to just get another car or pay to have it fixed. I know there are many other Hondas with this recall in effect! add this VIN number. I have reported this issue multiple times! do better Honda and fix my daughters car before she gets in an accident that could injure or even kill her!.
There is an active recall on the fuel pump for Honda Civics. My car fits within the range of time of manufacture, but my VIN does not appear with any recalls. The vehicle shakes when starting and will stall most of the time. I can turn it off and turn it back on and the car will start okay, but if I accelerate too quickly or drive too fast or for too long the engine will stall. I have been driving on the highway before and the engine stalls and I have to pull over. The car can be turned off and started again okay, but it’s a safety concern when it happens randomly on the highway with plenty of other cars around.
Honda issued a recall for the fuel pump system. Initially, when the recall came out, I contacted them about the recall they stated that the parts were on back order and they had a waiting list of people who were supposed to be serviced first. It took about five months for the parts to come back into stock and another month for me to get an appointment. Now I’m continuing to have issues with my fuel line.
After the recent fuel pump recall repair, there has been a smell of gasoline for about a month, bad enough that it seems unsafe to keep the car in the garage. (there is no smell of gasoline inside the car. ) fuel mileage has consistently been about 2 mpg lower. The problem is especially bad after refueling, and gradually gets better as the tank empties. The problem returns with the next refueling. There seem to be many cars in the same situation. There is inadequate work dealing with this recall, and dealers are not fixing what they broke, despite the hazard.
Honda issues a recall on my vehicle in Feb 2024, for months they keep telling me they do not have the parts. I had to move back to canada and now I can't register the vehicle in canada because it has an open recall that they can not fix until end of this year or start of 2025.
Vehicle is stalling and not moving forward when pressing accelerator, resulting in almost getting hit at intersection on [xxx] in ogden utah at intersection of [xxx] and [xxx] [xxx] when starting vehicle, the engine turns over and won't start for several attempts and then randomly starts when tapping accelerator. I believe my vehicle has a bad fuel pump and needs to be replaced in accordance with NHTSA 23v-858. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The car stalls randomly when turning on, and it just cranks but doesn’t start. This has happened to me 6 times already. I took it to braman Honda dealer in miami and they said that because it is not happening "now" referring to the time of the visit. It cannot be identified or repaired. There are no parts available for the recall . What is this? I need someone to help me out.
I would like to report an incident on my 2019 Honda Civic hatchback. On [xxx] around noon, I was merging onto [xxx] in fremont, CA. As I was was picking speed to merge around 50mph, suddenly my car lost thrust. As I pressed on the accelerator more, my car couldn’t go faster than 30mph. All the warning lights came on. I could have been easily hit by cars behind me picking up speed to merge onto i880. It was a near miss. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
