This was such a strange occurance. After pulling off from a stop sign attempting a right turn, my vehicle stalled, readjusted, then stalled again. I was driving on a cobblestone road while it was raining, but did not find any issues with vision or traction. However, during this process, my passenger airbag deployed out of nowhere causing me to immediately stop the car to see if I had hit something. There was nothing under or beside my car indicating any significant impact that would have caused this to happen. There were no other cars, or any pedestrians involved, nor any debris or blockade in the road so I did not file a police report or contact my insurace. My sister was in the passenger seat, and my 3 children in the back. No one sustained any injuries, but the entire incident was extremely startling, shocking, and confusing. There is no damage on my car that suggests I hit something, but I have no idea what could have caused an airbag to deploy, and why only that one? being that I was pulling off on a turn, I was not going fast enough for me to think that the cobblestone could have set off a "pothole like" effect to the sensors. After research revealed there have been recalls on previous models concerning the takata airbags, I reached out to a local Honda dealer for help. The associate immediately disregarded my account of the incident stating that "there hasn't been any recalls on the 2018 Honda Civic" and that I should "take it to a body shop and see if the insurance will take care of it". I assumed he had no intention of helping me at all because I had reached the service department with a Honda service issue, so why would he not at least offer to have me bring it in to be fix there, even if I had to pay out of pocket? this lead me to do further research in which I found that there is in fact a current recall on the fuel pump, which is known to cause issues with stalling. I feel misled by Honda, and would like an explanation, as well as accountability.

I received a recall notice in the mail dated October 2024. The notice sent to inform me that these parts are now available and I can bring my vehicle in for a free repair. I scheduled my repair appointment on 11/08/2024 at 7am to john hinderer Honda in heath, OH 43056. When I arrived they told me they have not received any parts. They don’t know when they will receive them. The service department did acknowledge that they had some parts but were saving them for any breakdowns. I found this recall letter misleading. I have attached this letter to this complaint.
Our local dealer, hall Honda in virginia beach va has not been able to repair this recall in a timely manner. It has been over 6 mo. This is the only place I could find to report a complaint. Your website does not make it clear where to go to submit a concern or complaint.

Reached out to hill country Honda, san antonio texas since the inception of this recall, approximately 2 years ago, and when I received Honda notifications to contact dealer for scheduling. Received another notification from Honda, today, November 4, 2024 and service advisor at hill country Honda stated they do not have the part and do not know when they will be receiving and to k=just keep checking in to see if they have the part. This is unsafe, disapointing, and just bad business practice from both Honda and hill country Honda.
Honda motor CO. Has not made replacement parts available. This recall is 8 months old, is a severe safety risk and dealers are unable to provide any estimates for when parts will be available. Although we have received a letter stating parts are available dealers tell us to call on Monday to see if replacement parts have been received. For an important safety recall, this situation is untenable.

My car has one recall part . It say :american Honda motor CO. , inc. (Honda) is recalling certain 2016-2021 model year Civic vehicles. The fuel pump impeller was improperly moulded, resulting in low density impellers. Over time, the low-density impeller can deform and interfere with the fuel pump body, rendering the fuel pump inoperative. I tried to contact some Honda dealer but they don't have the part to replace please help me out thank you so much.
Several occasions between September, and now the car had difficulty starting. I towed it to two different Hondas, bowie, darcas and Honda in silver spring and nobody was able to help me even though they claim to have done diagnostics on the car.
Engine began misfiring and would deliver inconsistent power. The fuel injector was faulty and leaked gas into the engine oil.
Lean fuel code all lights come on -on dashboard coming on and off.

Honda failed to notify me of a fuel pump recall and has failed to replace or fix it within a reasonable time frame. Honda still have not given a timeline of when they will be able to fix the recall and told me to “figure it out” if I want it done sooner.
I called Honda as part of the recall issued on 12/13/2023. But they said they don't have the parts to honor my recall issue.
It’s almost been a year since the recall came out. The dealerships are saying Honda hasn’t issued any parts. Called the marysville service center, was told Honda wasn’t fixing any cars unless having problems. Am I supposed to wait until something happens, get in an accident???.
Car has delayed cranking time. Recently got a new car battery but car has weak, struggling and delayed start up. Video proof has been sent to dealership since issue could not be reproduced while car was there for 4+ hours recently. Recall on fuel pump in the past. Other vehicle models are on current recall list but mine is not. I fear that my car will stall while driving or I will become stranded on the road due to this issue.
The vehicle had a light for emissions. Brought to Honda dealer. Charged me for two diagnosis fees. The tank / neck and fuel pump all rusted out at connection. No rust under or on the vehicle. Obviously the manufacturer has poor quality tank. This does not happen on 8 yr old vehicle and they want $4500 to fix.
Once again while driving on the interstate at highway speed the car lost power and then died. At first it wouldn’t start and then finally did where it could be slowly driven to an exit for safety. I 100% think this vehicle needs included in the fuel pump recall! this is probably the 30th time it has done this. This is my 19 year old daughter’s car and it is very unsafe. We bought a Honda because we heard they are very good and safe and reliable cars. This hasn’t proven to be that! we can’t afford to just get another car or pay to have it fixed. I know there are many other Hondas with this recall in effect! add this VIN number. I have reported this issue multiple times! do better Honda and fix my daughters car before she gets in an accident that could injure or even kill her!.
There is an active recall on the fuel pump for Honda Civics. My car fits within the range of time of manufacture, but my VIN does not appear with any recalls. The vehicle shakes when starting and will stall most of the time. I can turn it off and turn it back on and the car will start okay, but if I accelerate too quickly or drive too fast or for too long the engine will stall. I have been driving on the highway before and the engine stalls and I have to pull over. The car can be turned off and started again okay, but it’s a safety concern when it happens randomly on the highway with plenty of other cars around.
Honda issued a recall for the fuel pump system. Initially, when the recall came out, I contacted them about the recall they stated that the parts were on back order and they had a waiting list of people who were supposed to be serviced first. It took about five months for the parts to come back into stock and another month for me to get an appointment. Now I’m continuing to have issues with my fuel line.
After the recent fuel pump recall repair, there has been a smell of gasoline for about a month, bad enough that it seems unsafe to keep the car in the garage. (there is no smell of gasoline inside the car. ) fuel mileage has consistently been about 2 mpg lower. The problem is especially bad after refueling, and gradually gets better as the tank empties. The problem returns with the next refueling. There seem to be many cars in the same situation. There is inadequate work dealing with this recall, and dealers are not fixing what they broke, despite the hazard.
Honda issues a recall on my vehicle in Feb 2024, for months they keep telling me they do not have the parts. I had to move back to canada and now I can't register the vehicle in canada because it has an open recall that they can not fix until end of this year or start of 2025.
Vehicle is stalling and not moving forward when pressing accelerator, resulting in almost getting hit at intersection on [xxx] in ogden utah at intersection of [xxx] and [xxx] [xxx] when starting vehicle, the engine turns over and won't start for several attempts and then randomly starts when tapping accelerator. I believe my vehicle has a bad fuel pump and needs to be replaced in accordance with NHTSA 23v-858. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The car stalls randomly when turning on, and it just cranks but doesn’t start. This has happened to me 6 times already. I took it to braman Honda dealer in miami and they said that because it is not happening "now" referring to the time of the visit. It cannot be identified or repaired. There are no parts available for the recall . What is this? I need someone to help me out.
I would like to report an incident on my 2019 Honda Civic hatchback. On [xxx] around noon, I was merging onto [xxx] in fremont, CA. As I was was picking speed to merge around 50mph, suddenly my car lost thrust. As I pressed on the accelerator more, my car couldn’t go faster than 30mph. All the warning lights came on. I could have been easily hit by cars behind me picking up speed to merge onto i880. It was a near miss. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The fuel pump failed prematurely. Car would not start and had to be towed to mechanic. There were no warnings leading up to the failure. There is currently a recall for the fuel pump on 2020 Honda Civics, however my VIN is not included in the current recall.
Fuel pump affected by recall. Vehicle tends to not start at times and leaves me stranded. Honda unable to replace part in timely fashion even though I have gone to the Honda dealer several times prior trying to get the issue resolved. Paperwork shows open recall. No warning lights. Will need to be able to drive from mcb camp pendleton to washington state to drop car off at home of residence prior to deployment.
I was stranded on the road after filling up gas my car would not start due to the fuel pump recall I tried calling different Honda dealerships for the recall and they all said they didn’t have it due to back order. Is there something that can be done so my car doesn’t have anymore damage then it does now?.
I am going down the road at 65mph and car loses all power, compression, speed. . . Starts shuttering, stuttering & shaking the car then it dies. . . It doesn't matter the conditions, whether I'm in city or on road. . . It does it anywhere and unexpectedly, never know when it's going to do it but it's dangerous it's not just once, it's every time I drive the car! not just once but several times!.

My 2018 Honda Civic is presenting with issues related to another safety recall, but my VIN doesn't come up for that recall. I got diagnostics done for this issue at a Honda certified dealership, the wanted over $5600 to repair the safety recall issue because my VIN doesn't come up for that specific recall- only one of the safety recalls, which they do not have parts for. I got a second opinion with another mechanic who confirmed that what's going on with my car is a recall safety issue on Honda's part, not my own. My car is not safe to drive due to a rack and pinion safety issue and a fuel pump issue and the safety issues have gotten worse. Others and my own safety is put at risk because the car doesn't have a lot of power to maneuver the vehicle safely as well as the steering locking up. My vehicle shows no lights on the dash.
I have scheduled and attended several appointments to have my fuel pump replaced as per the recall. The only dealership that is within 20 miles of my home (el paso Honda 1490 lee trevino, 79936) keeps refusing to do the replacement. I have expressed that my engine is losing power when going uphill and when driving on I-10. They refuse because the check engine light isn't on. This recall has been in effect since last year and the dealership keeps blaming Honda stating they cannot order the part unless the check engine light is on.
My car is not starting properly due to the recall. I reached out to my dealership and they basically told me there is nothing they can do due to the part being on recall. I am a single mother to a [xxx] daughter and with this being my only form of transportation I cannot afford to get a new vehicle or miss work due to not having a vehicle. I am worried my car will stall in the middle of the road with my daughter in it. I am upset the dealership told me there is nothing they can do when it is primary not my fault there is a recall or parts. I understand but this is unfair to costumers for the company not having back up plans in this type of situations. I cannot continue paying for a car that is broken that is out of my control. Is there a different route we can take for this issue ? a replacement ? a refund ? anything. I don’t mean to be rude. Just very frustrated and upset. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Multiple misfires and rich fuel codes. Car losses acceleration at high speeds creating safety issue. Faulty fuel injectors. No current recall. Vehicle goes into limp mode.
The carr some times breaks self and the gasoline not passing through the engine.
Gas door opens randomly and it’s happened more than a few times now which is becoming a safety hazard especially because I drive 80 miles daily for work. Also my automatic brake senor is a hazard because it’s going off when cars or objects are farther away; which leads to the 3rd issue with my seat belts which is either to tight on the chest area and possibly choking me when the car automatically brakes when objects aren’t near or in close distance to my car.
Honda's 1st letter explained limited availability with the fuel pump recall. The 2nd letter also automated a schedule with an authorized dealer, norm reeves Honda of west covina. Unfortunately, the dealer claimed on 6-5-24 that this part was not available. The dealer was notified a complaint would be submitted to NHTSA.
I was first informed that there was a recall (23v-858) on my 2018 Honda Civic for a fuel pump module back in December 2023. When no information came from Honda as to when the dangerous problem would be repaired, I was informed by the dealership that the repairs could start as early as April of 2024. It is now the end of may and there still no word on when the Honda dealer will have the parts to repair the defect. It has been 6 months since the recall with no further information nor cooperation from Honda on when this issue will be resolved.
This is in regards to the open recall on my vehicle. The dealership is not able to perform the repair because they say they do not have enough replacement parts from Honda. They're only accepting customers who are experiencing a problem to do the repairs. This is unacceptable for a recall. I shouldn't have to wait til my car breaks, and potentially crash, in order to get a recall issue repaired. The recall number is NHTSA#: 23v-858 mfr#: mgl / 23v-858.
