Radio/tape Cd Player Problems of Honda CR-V

In car mounted screen for radio etc randomly changes while driving. From brightness off and on and darker to volume changing on its own. Only way to stop it (sometimes) is to turn off and turn back on the vehicle. Blind spot sensors also go out randomly sometimes because of weather other times (rarely, but still happened) randomly while driving.

Vehicle was driven to a restaurant, placed in park and turned off. It was turned onto accessory mode with the only radio playing. Within 10 minutes of the vehicle being in accessory mode, the touch screen turned black and the radio went silent. The dome lights came on when multiple attempts were made to turn accessory mode back on, but the touch screen and radio would not turn on. Attempts were made to start the vehicles engine, but were unsuccessful. The car was then jump started successfully. Several days later, the vehicle was taken to the dealership for testing. The battery was tested (4 year old original batter) and still had substantial life remaining. No other testing was completed.

Dash panel freeze running the vehicle , cant see speed up or down , revs etc. . And radio panel freeze too have to turn off the vehicle every time this happen.

Gear shift button popped out while driving: I was driving with my children in the car, the button popped out as I was trying to drop them off at school. This could have been a truly deadly situation in a crowded drop off because the car would not go to park. Thankfully I quickly recovered from shock, hit the brakes and scrambled to grab the piece that had fallen to the floor of the car. The button piece looks cheap, so now the coil is exposed. I can't just stick my finger in so I am going to need to tape the button back on until I get it fixed. This is an obvious recall issue since so many people have mentioned it. I wouldn't have reported it if I didn't see so many online complaints.

On 9/23/19 parked the vehicle. Shut off vehicle while still in drive. The vehicle did not alert me that the car was not in park. Got out of car and door locked like everything was okay - no other beeps or notifications. Vehicle rolled out of driveway and hit a tree causing significant rear damage (thankfully did not hit any other vehicle or pedestrian). Brought to Honda dealership and they could not find anything although I explained that the warning indicators work intermittently. Finally on 10/2/19 I videotaped an incident where it did not alert me in anyway when I shut the car off and left in the drive gear (images from video attached). Honda states emergency parking brake should always be engaged; however, this does not fix the fact that the safety notifications are not working as expected. Definitely a vehicle safety issue.

The touchscreen is horrible. Delayed response often when touching any of the features like audio, changing preset stations on the radio etc. . . Freezes up often and the "brightness" feature would appear on the screen by itself and the only way to get ride of it is to turn the engine off and restart the engine. I have numerous videos of the issue. Complained to dealership even bought it in to have it looked at when the issue is happening so they can see it realtime and troubleshoot. Unfortunately they were not able to diagnose the issue the only resolution was to do a factory reset of the touchscreen. I am still having issues. The dealership recommend me to contact Honda directly to report issue. They can't replace the touch screen without Honda corporate office approving.

There is a rattle noise coming from the review mirror part. I had the recall done on the radio rattle but this is something new. Everyone I talk to has a rattle I'm hoping you do a recall on this so it can be fixed.

When vehicle is idling every few moments I hear a single whistle or whine noise. It happens randomly. We originally thought it was audio feedback from our phones or radio feedback but it's not as everything is off and it still happens. It sounds like it's coming from the front right of the Cr-v.

The cup holders in the front under the radio and the ones in the middle of the front seats do not hold empty bottles properly. I have had empty cups or almost empty cups and bottles fall and go to my feet while driving to the point that it could have caused an accident if I had anyone in front of me. The cup holders are not deep enough and are too wide to keep anything in them in a turn things fall out to my feet. Those cup holders are not good at all. I do not have a safe place to put my drink in the car, that is very inconvenient and a safety hazard.

The led screen goes out of control. Words and images become scrambled and it keeps buzzing constantly. I have no control over any settings including the radio. This has happened numerous times both in motion and stationary. If I stop and turn off vehicle and turn it back on it seems to correct itself for a while.

Florida arbitration claim in progress: after the first year of purchasing this vehicle, the crv navigation display system has begun to malfunction. This includes freezing, change in brightness, loss of functions such as navigation control, radio control and camera control. Additionally, this is a safety hazard for myself and those around me as the system will lock up and if the hands free is in use a screeching noise will occur until the car has been stopped and completely restarted as this occurs only while the car is in operation and moving. . The only temporary fix has been to restart the car until it occurs again. Also when this occurs, the a/c will cease functioning. Honda has repeatedly sated that the issue is an isolated issue and that it was due to my phone saying that my samsung is not compatible with the car. However, the car is feature specifically with android audio.

Push knob on my gear shift broke off while putting my car into park. I was able to tape the knob into place so I would be able to drive my car back home and change gears.

The Honda Cr-v has a optional backup sensor option which does not perform to prevent an accident. It does not provides necessary adequate warning to prevent backing up into a vehicle or person. The back up sensor has warning buzzer that can not be heard over normal conversation or a radio. The system I was told has not been updated for several years let Honda is still installing this inadequate warning system. Check it out for your self. I raise this safely issue with my Honda dealer and Honda executive officer in charge of engineering.

1. With and w/o snow tires, no matter the weather or road conditions: strong hot rubber burning smell by back right wheel. D/t no baffle near muffler. This happens with short trips, free way or city trips 2. At one time would not shift down on hills. Or would engine would nearly die going up hills with ac radio on, and latterly chugged up hill this is related to the gear not shifting. This is a terrible feeling going up hill with nothing but two passengers and no load 3. Seats memory foam fails and flattens out , nearly 96000 miles 4. Seat belts fray in time, 5. Seat belts won't retract well , especially on drivers side 6. Tires routinely have outside wear, even with rotation through discount tire where they cross rotate. They are better than dealer 7. Dome light in front failed 8. Tachometer runs high like 3-4000 rpm this has happened since purchase Jan 29, 2011, but I will put todays date below re last question about mileage on vehicle I will put todays mileage even though happened through out ownership.

Radio does mute when navigation system gives voice commands, forcing driver to look at display and thus distracting driver at critical times, e. G. , intersections and exits. Honda states it is aware of condition but no fix appears to be available.

A squirrel ate through my windshield washer hoses. I got the hoses replaced, then 3 months later it happened again, and I had to replace them again. One time I was moving when I discovered I had non-functioning washers, and the other time it was while my car was stationary. There is a class action lawsuit against Honda for the soy-based coating Honda uses, which attracts rodents. The Honda service manager pretended he knew nothing about this situation, even though Honda makes a rodent-deterrent tape for this very reason. Although the safety factor was minimal due to never knowing whether I have functioning windshield washers unless I test them each time I turn on the car, I have read about Honda owners who have had rodents eat through their main harnesses.

Letter from senator brown inquiry on behalf of constituent in regards to a 2017 Honda crv 1. 5 awd ex-l and the car saying it came with a hd radio but does not. The consumer stated according to an invoice the vehicle was supposed to be equipped with an hd radio, but it was not installed. The consumer was advised that since the no cost was added to the vehicle for the radio it would not be installed. The consumer requested to have the radio installed or receive it's fair market value.

The car has a terrible vibration issue when stopped at a light or in traffic with your foot on the brake and the car in drive. This vibration is felt on the inside throughout the car. Having to place car in n, at stoplights (many are now doing it, and some Honda dealers are advocating it ! they also suggest turning the ac on high, turn the lights and radio on, etc. ) all of this is very distracting. If one forgets to put the car into d in order to accelerate, he could get rear ended, or get stranded under a light; driving in s, however, one must be very careful doing this in traffic, as the car accelerates very quickly, and it tends to lunge a bit ! in this instance, it is very easy to rear-end a car in front of you. In addition, driving in s cuts fuel economy (I have learned ) about 25-30%. Where did I learn to try s instead of d ? a Honda dealer !! so, this idea that this issue is not a potential safety concern is not true for all drivers who are trying to reduce the fatiguing, annoying effects of these vibes, shudders, and shakes.

I had left my office about 10 minutes prior to pulling into a shopping center and was driving about 5 mph in the parking lot, looking for a parking space. I saw one and slowed down even more to barely moving, and was easing into the parking space with my right foot on the brake. Just as the car stopped and I was getting ready to put it into park, the engine suddenly revved up and the car jumped the curb and hit a tree about 5 feet in front of the parking space at full force. It was like the accelerator had been pressed all the way to the floor. I was totally stunned. The entire front of the car was smashed in and radiator fluid was coming out of the bottom of the car. When this incident occurred, I was not talking on the phone; I was not drinking or eating anything in the car; I did not even have the radio turned on. I was not in an emotional state; I am not psychotic, homicidal ,or suicidal. I had both hands on the steering wheel as I had just made a slow left turn into the parking space and was barely moving, with my foot on the brake. I have gone on the internet to research anything like this occurring with other Honda crv's, and there are numerous incidences cited involving the 2011 and 2013 models. It happens in very cold weather (freezing or below) , while the brake is engaged. It was in the low 30's at the time and my foot was on the brake. Luckily, the tree stopped my forward motion, or I would have ended up driving thru the plate glass window of the ups store. Other drivers have not been so lucky - some have been taken to the hospital, other cars involved, other people injured. I am absolutely terrified of driving this vehicle again.

Audio system does not display folder names as indicated in owners manual. The system operates the same on all 2010 crv models and always fails in the same way. American Honda motor CO. , inc. Will not escalate the issue to resolve it. This problem is commensurate with distracted driving practices. The doj has recommended this issue be handled by usdot and/or fbi as it involves fraudulent means to acquire customers. The issue: the audio system will not display all of the folder names (up to 700) on a flash drive as indicated in the owners manual, page 243.
