"my 2019 Honda Cr-v experienced a 'false positive' trigger of the collision mitigation braking system (cmbs) while driving over a metal road grate. The vehicle applied hard, emergency-level braking without any actual obstacle in the path of travel. I am aware of the active NHTSA investigation ea24003 regarding this issue. I have taken the vehicle to a dealer, but they were unable to replicate the issue during a standard test drive on asphalt and cited a brake fluid code as the only finding, which does not explain the sensor misidentification. " I am bringing the car back to the dealership since I have video proof of what is happening but they were reluctant to do anything about it and said there may be a 180 dollar charge to re align the sensors which I shouldnt be charged for something that is a safety issue. This incident has happened several times over the year. About 4 times total.

After driving in snowy or icy conditions, per jl freed Honda dealership in montgomeryville, PA, snow/ice accumulates in drive axel. This causes loud noise when accelerating, and when braking. This happened twice this winter.

Other than the emergency brake system coming on suddenly a couple times (seat belt has hurt me, but not medically documented), there have been no other issues with this car. In the November of 2025, it overheated in gridlock traffic in boston, MA, which had me freaking out. The engine coolant was low, so I had to find a spot to pull over and let the steam out. I drove it safely home and refilled the tank. It was checked out by my local mechanic and he said it looked fine. Towards the end of January, the car overheated again, so I immediately went to the auto store to buy prediluted coolant to fill the tank (which was now full). Last week (February 2026), I was driving home on the highway and all the emergency lights came on and the car stopped accelerating. I was able to get the car home, but moved my pump module recall appointment up to the following day. Honda north in danvers, MA (where we purchased the car) investigated and found a cracked cylinder, head gasket needing replacement, turbo chargers needing replacement, and the fuel injector needing replacement. The report also says the engine coolant tank was empty, but I only filled it a couple weeks ago. The mechanic said I could drive it home on the back roads, but it is no longer safe to drive, as there are severe safety risks (the car passed every other inspection). The sales team expected me to make a deal that day, because I could not drive home. My car's mileage is just over 127,000 miles, and they are only offering $6000 or $8000 with trade in. I have learned there are lawsuits over the 1. 5v turbo engine and am surprised Honda is not recalling the engine due to safety risk. My family has had 5 Hondas in the past decade and up until this point, believed they were safe, reliable cars. I am really dissappointed by this, especially because the cost to repair is over $11,000. I also want to note that someone on reddit coincidentally had the same issue within the same hour as myself.

I received a safety recall notice that states that Honda will be replacing the fuel pump due to "improper production". Honda is refusing to replace the fuel pump. They are now stating that they only need to test the pump even though the recall is very clear that it is to be replaced.

Lights appeared on dash associated with braking/sensors. Lights included: acc, collision mitigation, fuel emissions, traction control, electric parking brake, brake hold system, tpms, road departure mitigation, eps, vsa, hill start assist. Not running any different than normal, just lights suddenly appeared. Ran codes & codes said ecm failure & fuel too rich.
Date of incident: February 6, 2026 time: approximately 2:30 pm on February 6, 2026, at approximately 2:30 pm, I came to a complete stop at a stop sign. As I began making a turn, the vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly accelerated without my intention to increase speed. This unexpected acceleration caused the vehicle to strike a small tree. The vehicle sustained damage to the passenger-side front area. No other vehicles or individuals were involved. I was not injured. Component/system suspected: possible unintended acceleration related to the engine, throttle, or electronic acceleration control system. Exact cause unknown. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety risk: the sudden acceleration placed my safety at risk and could have resulted in serious injury or a more severe accident if other vehicles or pedestrians had been present. Dealer inspection: on February 7 at 9:30 am, my husband and I took the vehicle to Honda west, the dealership where it was purchased in December. We explained the incident and requested a safety inspection. No diagnostic or technical tests were performed. The dealer only drove the vehicle approximately 4 miles and stated that everything appeared normal. Manufacturer contact: on February 9, I contacted Honda customer service and opened a safety case (case no. 16162399). I was told I would receive a return call within 24 hours. As of February 13, after calling daily, I have not received any follow-up. I was informed again that I may receive a call on February 17. Warning signs prior to incident: no warning lights, messages, or prior symptoms were present before the incident. Request: I am requesting a full technical and safety inspection to determine the cause of this incident, as I am concerned about the ongoing safety of this vehicle.
On 02/03/2026 while driving on a flat smooth asphalt highway at 55 miles per hour our sunroof just exploded. We didn't see anything hitting us although we did meet a few oncoming cars and trucks, but none were close when this happened. Luckily we had the inside blind shut so we didn't get covered with glass chips. Neither my wife or myself ever remember opening the sunroof or the inside blind so we don't even know if the sunroof would move of if it was stuck. Called Honda dealership locally to see if there was a recall for this breakage, but they there was none and it would have to turned into our insurance. The new glass is ordered, but we have to keep our 2025 crv garaged and only driven very short trips. It will take 8 days to get this repaired. We have 15,000 miles on our crv and about 2/3 of the glass is missing.
Problem with emissions system on my 2019 Honda crv. Car was diagnosed and recommended to replace fuel injectors. This is a pervasive problem with Honda vehicles with a previous recall for odyssey, pilot and ridgeline. Honda needs to recall any of their vehicles with this problem and fix it. In addition pervasive issues with their infotainment system which includes navigation. I have had the system go out when using the navigation option while in heavy traffic. Again both of these problems are well documented online with other owners but nothing being done by Honda to remedy either situation.
Random problems since purchase with screen going out and emergency brake light either flashing for no reason and braking for no reason. In 2023 the brake system completely failed while driving. Honda dealer replaced fuel pump which helped for awhile. Now flashing brake warning for no reason is happening again. Fear the car will either start braking again for no reason or another system failure might occur. Afraid to drive the car.

I was driving on the highway when my sunroof suddenly shattered out of nowhere. There were no vehicles directly in front of or beside me, and the weather was clear. The sound was extremely loud, sounded like a gunshot and it happened completely out of nowhere. There was no visible impact from rocks or debris. Instead of a small crack, a large hole was left in the sunroof. This appears to have been a spontaneous glass failure and is very concerning from a safety standpoint.
The driver side mirror cracked. It occurred overnight during the first freeze since purchasing the vehicle. The crack was not a result of any physical impact to the mirror.
This is a new vehicle with around 800 miles purchased in early December, 2025. I started the vehicle and let it warm up at least 10 minutes. I was able to drive to my destination around 5 miles from home. 20 minutes later when I planned to drive home, many dashboard lights came on with some flashing and one beeping. Vehicle started but was cold and limp. Would not accelerate beyond around 20 mph. Had to drive home with flashers on. Based on reading, it may be caused by an inadequate 12v battery. Have service appt at Honda dealer on 1/26/2026. Talked to wilde Honda service dept. Staff immediately after incident, and they mentioned that they had recently seen other crv hybrid vehicles with multiple warning lights. I scheduled a service appt for 1/26/2026 but am concerned about driving safely to dealership.

Car was assessed for recall related to service bulletin 23-032. Recall was performed, but the mechanic who performed the recall says the car is not repaired because the rear frame corrosion, as described in bulletin 23-032, is so severe that a large piece is missing from the rear frame. The mechanic says the repair as described in the bulletin is not enough to fix the car. The service bulletin remedy was only performed because the rear trailing arm bolts were able to be removed, but the car is still unsafe due to rear frame corrosion that Honda has admitted to as per the recall. The car is considered unsafe due to the frame damage and likely cannot pass state inspection. After calling Honda, Honda says the repair is complete even though the mechanic who performed the recall says the repair is not complete and the car is unsafe due to issues with rear frame corrosion that led to the recall in the first place. Honda is refusing to discuss the issue any further. A screenshot of the damaged part of the rear frame has been attached. This is part of a video taken by the mechanic who performed the recall. In this video the mechanic also states that “this is not a repair. ” he also states that part of the damage is obscured by the brace that was attached to the frame, so the image provided does not show the full extent of the damage.

Car safely parked in driveway was turned on to defrost snow from it (no ice). When completed, drivers side mirror was cracked from corner to corner. No possible impact to the vehicle and had not been moved, so had to be the result of defrosting. Called dealer to schedule appointment for replacement and was told this would not be covered. Owned car for 10 months.

Vehicle: 2026 Honda Cr-v issue type: parts – design vulnerability / theft-related defect I am submitting this complaint regarding the front radar/calibration sensor located behind the Honda “h” emblem on my 2026 Honda Cr-v, which was stolen due to what I believe is a serious design vulnerability. The sensor is positioned in a manner that makes it exceptionally easy to access and remove, even without specialized tools. As a result, my vehicle was targeted shortly after purchase, the sensor was stolen, and my vehicle was rendered unsafe and undrivable due to disabled safety and driver-assist systems. This is not an isolated incident. I have since learned that this specific sensor placement has become a known and repeated target for theft, impacting Honda owners nationwide. The accessibility of this critical component creates an unreasonable risk of theft, repeated financial loss, vehicle downtime, and safety system failure for owners. To make matters worse, the replacement sensor is currently on national backorder, leaving me without my vehicle for an extended and indefinite period. I purchased this vehicle expecting reasonable protection of essential safety components and did not anticipate that a core system could be removed so easily and leave the vehicle unusable. I am requesting that Honda: 1. Formally document this as a design vulnerability 2. Review and redesign the placement and protection of the front sensor 3. Provide guidance, support, or remediation for affected owners 4. Consider goodwill assistance due to the financial and logistical burden caused by this design issue this complaint is being submitted not only for resolution of my situation, but to ensure Honda addresses a preventable design flaw that continues to place owners at risk. I look forward to Honda’s response and a meaningful resolution.
While driving at 65-75mph down a highway the sunroof glass shattered outward spraying the hood of my vehicle with glass shards. I was fortunate my interior sunroof cover was closed but had it not been glass would have been all over me. Honda inspected and denied the warranty claim. I now have a claim open with a repair shop. They have preliminarily inspected it and it is just glass, nothing wrong with the track. Could have been weak glass.
January 18, 2025 subject: request for review – windshield crack on 2025 Honda Cr-v hybrid dear Honda customer relations team, I am writing to respectfully request a review of a windshield issue on my wife’s subject 2025 Honda Cr-v hybrid, which we purchased new in the summer of 2025. The vehicle currently has approximately 16,000 miles. Recently, a crack developed in the windshield measuring roughly four inches in length. The crack originates at the driver-side edge near the frame and began with a very small divot. There is no visible impact crater or evidence of damage from a foreign object. Based on its location and appearance, I believe this may be consistent with an stress-related edge crack rather than road debris. Our local dealership has declined coverage, which I understand may be standard procedure at the dealership level. However, given the vehicle’s age, mileage, and the nature of the crack, I am respectfully requesting that Honda corporate review this matter for possible warranty consideration or goodwill assistance. My wife and I have been Honda owners for over 20 years. We have consistently chosen Honda vehicles for their quality and reliability, and we have also purchased Honda vehicles for our children, who continue to drive them today. Our loyalty to the Honda brand has always been rooted in trust—trust in engineering, and trust in standing behind the product. I am not seeking special treatment, only a fair review of the circumstances. We value Honda and hope to continue that relationship for many years to come. I have attached four photographs of the windshield, including both full-view and close-up images of the crack for your review. thank you for your time and consideration. I appreciate your review and look forward to your response. sincerely, [xxx] [xxx] ? information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
While driving in arizona on I 10 at normal speeds, the sunroof glass exploded. No overpasses. No ice. No big trucks close by. The interior cover was closed at the time. Mileage at the time was 6600 approximately. Car was purchased new last summer in utah. Could not figure out what happened at first until we stopped the car at an exit. Glass was bulged up with the middle missing.
Sunroof spontaneously exploded.

I was slowly driving into a parking spot, perhaps half way into the spot when the car suddenly accelerated forward, went over the cement wheel stops and hit a cement wall. It resulted in me suffering a fractured sternum. I am absolutely sure I did not press down hard on the accelerator to cause this. I recall being slightly jerked back into my seat and then hitting the wall. I have no idea what system failed, but the car is available for inspection. I am unable to drive the car until repairs to the front end are done, which I am told will take a few weeks. Thus, the car has not been inspected by anyone as yet, but I most certainly want it thoroughly checked. It should be noted that the police report was taken in the emergency room while I was in pain and in total shock at what happened. That report was only my guess as to what might have happened.

There was a loud "pop" above the car while driving. The sunroof had shattered. No object or other damage on the car present.
Safety issue: absence of low windshield washer fluid indicator I am reporting a significant vehicle safety concern involving my 2025 Honda Cr-v ex-l, which is not equipped with a low windshield washer fluid level indicator. This omission created a serious safety risk to myself and other motorists during real-world driving conditions. While driving on a michigan highway during a severe winter storm, I unknowingly ran out of windshield washer fluid. Due to snow, ice, road salt, and grime typical of winter driving in michigan, my windshield quickly became dirty and my forward visibility was severely reduced. Because there was no warning or indicator to alert me that the washer fluid level was low, I had no advance notice of the issue. As a direct result, I was forced to pull over onto the highway shoulder at night, in dark conditions and heavy traffic, in order to refill the washer fluid reservoir. Stopping on an active highway shoulder under these conditions posed a substantial safety hazard, increasing the risk of collision to myself and to passing vehicles. This situation was entirely preventable if the vehicle had provided a basic low washer fluid warning. I later confirmed with a Honda dealership that the low windshield washer fluid indicator is not included as a feature on my 2025 Honda Cr-v ex-l. This confirms that the issue is not a malfunction but a deliberate omission in vehicle design or feature availability. I am further concerned because I also own a 2023 Acura rdx a-spec advance (VIN: [xxx] ), which similarly does not include a low windshield washer fluid indicator, despite being a premium vehicle and Acura being Honda’s luxury brand. This suggests a broader design or cost-cutting decision across Honda/Acura vehicles rather than an isolated model-level oversight. Vehicles sold in northern u. S. States such as michigan, where winter conditions routinely involve snow, ice, freezing temperatures, and heavy road salt use, depend hea information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia.
The hybrid battery fan is emitting a loud, high-pitched noise from the back of the vehicle while driving on the highway. It makes it difficult to drive and gives me a headache, which makes it difficult to focus and endangers my own safety and those around me. The dealership has acknowledged that this is an issue for my vehicle, but states that there is no solution offered by Honda at this time.
On 01-01-2026, while driving my 2026 Honda Cr-v hybrid, the vehicle suddenly emitted heavy smoke followed by fire. This occurred without warning and created a life-threatening situation. I had to immediately stop and exit the vehicle for my safety. Emergency services responded, and a fire department report exists. The vehicle had no modifications and was operated under normal conditions. This incident presents a serious safety risk to occupants and other drivers.
We bought this vehicle for our grandson for a great price, so we signed an "as is"agreement, knowing the dealer didn't inspect it. We were unaware that the rear axle housing was completely rusted. On 1/1/2026, he was driving and the rear axle housing broke off and the car is disabled. We had it towed to our home. Is this expensive to repair and if so, where do we begin. It seems the recall was ignored. Is it worth repairing?.

While driving my new Honda Cr-v, the vehicle suddenly caught fire without any accident, collision, or external cause. Warning lights appeared and smoke/fire followed shortly after. The incident was extremely dangerous and resulted in a total loss of the vehicle. No physical injury occurred, but this was a serious safety failure. The vehicle was well within the manufacturer warranty period.

The audio system including the computer screen/monitor which controls the carplay, am/fm radio, bluetooth connection, etc. Malfunctioned while driving on the highway. It was stuck on am radio at a very high volume for an unusually long period of time (15 minutes +approximately) the audio system sound and the entire system was unresponsive to attempts to power off, turn down volume and remained frozen even after I pulled over and powered off the vehicle engine ( I waited about 5 minutes and then turned the car back on). This could present safety issues for drivers and passengers. The overwhelming loud chaotic noise remained static .
I bought my car a Honda crv 2018 at a dealership brand new in 2019. The problems with car is now with abs system. Abs lights are all on and information was told by independent service. Abs system was replaced by independent service center, but the problem is still ongoing. Do you recover for the abs system?.
On 12/19/2025 my car was parked at my place of work between 12pm and 1pm my back window suddenly shattered from the middle of the window. I have seen other reports of Honda hrv having the same issues as well as some other crv owners from recalls for hrv and online forums of crv owners reporting the same issue with sudden back window combustion. I contacted Honda and several different departments to report this.
