Malfunction of the Honda crv's rear upper control arms. Yes it will be available to inspect until the 13th of October. Safety risk is the fact there is no more adjustment on the factory installed rear upper control arms. When on the rack and they align the vehicle, they only want a . 5 degree when being done. The factory installed rear upper control arms makes the camber maxed out at 1. 25 degrees to the negative. This causes severe wearing of the tires if they are not watched closely and rotated frequently. Yes. The vehicle has been inspected by a certified shop and the dealership. Yes there was wear on the tires that made me request a four point inspection at the dealership. They did not preform an alignment. Said it was the lack of quality tires installed at the factory that made them wear so badly. This issue is not covered by manufacturing/ extended warranty available. Honda's response "more aggressive tire rotation" to prevent the problem. That is unacceptable. Especially when it is being said right off the alignment rack: "we only want to see a . 5 degree for the toe and camber. This Honda is maxed out and will not move away from that 1. 25 degree mark. " there is such a thing as adjustable upper control arms to prevent the premature wear of tires.

Tpms warning light was on and then entire dash lit up while steering was crooked on the column. Driving while incident occurred did not cause accident. Disabled vehicle due to the same manufactured defects in the 2007 through 2011 Honda crv models that have a recall on them my vehicle was manufactured August 2012 past cutoff date for the gen 3 model. Submitting this request for repair unable to drive the vehicle and it's current condition. This all due to the same manufacturer defect found on the rear control arm gen 3 body type and suspension of the 2007 through 2011 models same gen 3 should be repaired and accepted as a recall having exact same issue because it's the exact same type of model car.

Service bulletin 16-012 was issued for 2013 crv for the vtc actuator. This is obviously an issue that Honda is aware of but is refusing to fix. I’ve had to replace this part twice at the same interval of time. The first replacement was covered under my warranty however now that I am out of warranty this repair costs almost 3,000$. I contacted american Honda who refuses to provide good will even though they are aware this is a known issue. I was advised that if this wasn’t repaired it would be a safety issue. I believe this should be covered on Hondas dime especially if this has to replaced multiple times at no fault of the customer.

Was driving my 2012 Honda crv home from the store when the awd light came on. By the time I got it home another light came on eps. When I got out I noticed the drivers side rear tire looked tilted. Upon further inspection I could see that the control arm had fallen down along with the whole trailing arm from rust. After investigating I learned that there was a recall for this exact thing but only for 2007-2011 models. I called Honda and they told me to get it to a Honda dealership for diagnosis report so I haf it towed there. They said that if ut were the same issue as the recall that they could make an exception after a case manager reviewed everything. The Honda dealership documented that the rust on the underrails of the frame were critical for the overall integrity and safety of the car and that the control arms were rusted and broken through. When I sent everything to Honda, they said that since my VIN was not part of the recall there was nothing they would do for me. There are many more complaints regarding this exact issue for the 2012 models and something needs done before lives are lost. My daughter and I were leaving for a trip the next morning and had I not decided to take my car to the store the night before we would have been on the interstate when the trailing arm and control arm broke and fell which would have been catastrophic while driving at interstate speed, from what I understand. I have only had my 2012 Honda crv for 3 months and it only has 120k miles on it. These models need a recall ASAP as they are extremely dangerous!.

Vehicle: 2025 Honda Cr-v sport-l hybrid date of purchase: April 2025 date problem first noticed: April 2025 complaint summary: I purchased a brand new 2025 Honda Cr-v sport-l hybrid in April 2025. Since the day I brought the vehicle home, I have noticed a persistent clanking or metal-on-metal noise coming from the rear of the vehicle, especially noticeable when driving over minor bumps or rough pavement at low to moderate speeds. This issue was reported to the dealer, and in June 2025, they attempted a repair by replacing the rear shock absorber and a rear rod assembly. However, the noise returned within weeks, and by mid-July 2025, it has become significantly worse. Now, the clanking sound is loud and alarming, resembling something coming loose or at risk of falling off. It has reached the point where I feel unsafe driving the vehicle, especially on highways or interstates. I am concerned that a suspension or structural component may fail, potentially leading to a loss of control or an accident. The fact that this issue has persisted despite repairs and is worsening raises serious concerns about the safety and structural integrity of the rear suspension system on this model. --- additional notes: the noise occurs whether the vehicle is loaded or empty. It is especially pronounced when driving over uneven roads, minor bumps, or potholes. I have checked the cargo area for loose items—this is clearly a mechanical issue. The service team initially acknowledged the issue and attempted a fix, but the recurrence suggests either a design flaw or improper rear component durability. Given that other owners have reported similar noises and rear-end suspension issues on owner forums, I believe this may not be an isolated case. --- ?? safety concern: due to the intensity of the noise and the sensation that rear components may detach, I no longer feel confident driving the vehicle at highway speeds. This poses a serious safety hazard to myself.
My 2014 crv has 83,131 miles and I am a careful driver and like to keep my vehicle in top shape. The service done was replaced outer tie rod ends that were cracked and I could have lost control , replaced front lower control arms, replaced front struts, replaced rear sway bar bushings, reseal coolant passage housing , head gaskets, my vehicle could have quit in traffic. The top of my crv has paint faded and gone to a white powder look. There are things that a car with low miles driven carefully and taken very good car of should not be happening. There should be recalls because there are issues with timing chains and fuel system. I am scared to drive it anymore. I won't stay loyal to Honda now and I am very disappointed that they know these issues and haven't attempted to fix them.

The car was being driven and the rear wheel and hub assembly all came off. Luckily, the car was being driven at a slow speed at the time. The problem turned out to be that the rear frame was all completely rusted out and where it was connected it all pulled out. After doing some research, there was a recall on the previous years for the exact same thing. Evidently, the problem still was not taken care of. If the car would have been a few months older it would have been covered under the recall. The car was taken to the dealership and had the factory rep look at it but they refused to do anything.
Complete rear tire assembly came loose from the unibody frame from rust. Not a drop of rust on the body of the car. Thank god we weren’t on the highway. They told me it was unfixable. Thank you Honda. And the recall stopped at 2011? Honda obviously doesn’t care about safety and human life.

I was driving with my family home and my vehicle began to move from side to side in a very violent manner. When I stopped and checked my vehicle I saw that the frame where the rear suspension arm is held was completely rusted and broken, the rear tire was about to completely detach from the vehicle and luckily I was able to stop without harming the health of my son and wife, after the incident I investigated and realized that it is a fairly common problem in multiple Honda crv models of various years and so far no mechanic shop has wanted to repair my vehicle because they say that it is a major and very expensive repair, no warning lights came on before this happened and no one has wanted to inspect the vehicle, neither the dealer nor the insurance company, as they say this is not their problem but mine.

As I was driving home from work last week 04/22/25, I noticed a drop in the rear passenger side and an odd noise I had never heard before. I only live 3 blocks from work and I immediately pulled it in the garage and put it up on the jack. Once I removed my drivers side rear tire and got a closer look, I found that my drivers side rear trailing arm and the frame have rusted through and completely broke. On Monday, April 21, I was traveling down a long hill (2 lanes up, 1 downhill) when my vehicle went into an uncontrolled, broadside skid into 2 lanes of oncoming traffic. I continued to skid back to the right side of the road, back to the left, and finally back to the right where I got it pulled onto the berm. Upon examination, my right rear tire was tilted outward at approximately 30 degrees. The wheel was totally locked up. I called a towing company as the vehicle was completely unable to be driven. A state police officer showed up, apparently called by a passerby, for traffic control and assess the safety of the situation. The car was hauled via tilt-bed truck to my local auto repair shop. One of the mechanics there told me his wife had the same vehicle, only a year older, that he been recalled due to this being and issue for 2011. I called Honda customer care and was informed that the recall was not in effect for 2012 model year. Customer care advised me to have the car taken to a Honda dealership, which was done, again via tilt-bed. Both my local shop and the dealer said the damage was irreparable. Customer care said the case would be assigned to one of their agents, but nothing has happened since April 24, the day they were initially notified.
This issue occurs daily and has progressively worsened. Even with lane keep assist (lka) and adaptive cruise control (acc) turned off, there is noticeable resistance in the steering wheel. It happens at all speeds, but it's especially noticeable—and potentially dangerous—at higher speeds. The resistance is most apparent when turning the wheel to the right while the steering wheel is still positioned to the left of center. At the same time, it often makes a creaking or rubbing noise. Additionally, at lower speeds—such as during u-turns or in parking lots—I experience resistance and the same noise when re-centering the wheel after turning fully to the left. However, I don’t notice the issue when re-centering from a full right turn.

We were driving on TX- 183 near bedford, texas, 76021. Lane keep assist and cruise control were active at the time of the incident. We were driving in the leftmost lane when suddenly we heard a loud thud noise and the tire immediately went 90 degrees causing us to lose steering control. The vehicle went from the left lane into the shoulder, making contact with the side barrier on the highway with the tire as first point of contact. We immediately attempted to regain control of the vehicle and managed to steer it out of the barrier and slowly come to a skidding stop in the shoulder area. Multiple suspension components damaged, possibly transmission, wheel damaged, ball joint and axle damaged, left front strut, strut mount, strut bearing, and upper spring seat damaged. We got it fixed for the first time for 6. 1k then they wires another fix for the back wheel because the entire wheel and more parts were damaged and they want to fix it for 1k more. And then today I got another quote for 1. 3k for the strut. They have done multiple diagnostic tests and alignment tests but keep coming with more issues.

The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 175,000.
While steering and turning, the wheel continuously feels sticky and there is a clicking and squeaking sound when I begin to turn the wheel. It is available to inspect. This vehicle does not feel safe. I have had to turn the wheel with more effort when changing lanes on the highway causing overcorrection and the brake also slipped when I was braking before turning to get onto a major street. I have taken it to firestone to get the brakes checked and for routine oil maintenance and a leak in the windshield reservoir. After the oil change, a firestone service tech recommended maintenance and repairs including an alignment, new brake pads and rotors, so I took it back to enterprise, the car dealership where I bought this vehicle on December 5, 2024. Enterprise reluctantly took it back to their service department and checked the vehicle's steering and brakes, denying there was anything wrong with either. The manager at enterprise stated that the sound I was hearing was normal wear and tear on the vehicle but I am still hearing the clicking and squeaking sound and when I turn the wheel it still feels sticky. There have been no warning lights flashing on the dash, but again, the wheel continuously feels sticky, and I have to overcorrect my turns. There is also a clicking and squeaking sound when I turn the wheel.

The frame rusted off where the right rear trailing arm attaches, causing the trailing arm to detach. Yes , it is available to inspect. I am was safe, because it happened at a stop sign. No one other myself has inspected it. Abs and all wheel drive light came on.

El parking collision no funciona, con objetos sin movimiento como un carro estacionado atrás, por lo cual si no se pone atención puede causar un accidente.

I purchased the certified pre-own 2021 Honda crv on August 26, 2024. I took it to the Honda dealership which we purchased it to inspect a noise coming from the passenger front wheel-well. Upon the inspection they noticed the passenger strut tower had split open at the weld seam. The Honda dealer claims its due to hitting a pothole and a driver issue. An independent mechanic indicated that doesn't hold true, since there is no damage to the tire, rim, shock absorber or strut along with the car being in alignment. I showed pictures to a master welder who indicated it looked like a failed weld seam. The car is inoperable in the current state given driving it could cause the strut to pierce the hood. On December 12/2/24 I reached out the american Honda motor inc, who then put me in touch with a case manager on 12/3 at which time I filed a failed part claim. They responded on 12/6/24 that the claim was denied. I ask for written confirmation of the decision, which they replied they don't provide written commnication.

The 2025 Honda crv, while driving on the highway, gets stuck, the steering wheel does not maintain a centered position in the lane, and also has strange noises coming from the steering wheel.
Dear national recall team, I am writing to report a recurring and potentially hazardous issue with my vehicle that has not yet been addressed through a recall. Since July 2024, I have experienced a problem with the steering wheel intermittently getting stuck, accompanied by a rattling noise from the left side of the vehicle. During a routine oil change, I asked the service technician to inspect the issue, but I was told everything appeared normal. Despite this, the problem has continued. I followed up with several phone calls but was consistently told that no issues could be found. I brought the vehicle back in again on Friday, where they replaced the brake fluid, yet once again reported no findings. Unfortunately, the steering issue and rattling noise persist, and I am increasingly concerned for my safety while operating the vehicle. When I contacted customer service, I was informed that only vehicles from model years 2022–2024 are currently covered under a recall for steering-related problems. As my vehicle does not fall within that range, I was told I do not qualify for assistance — despite experiencing similar symptoms. I respectfully request that this issue be investigated further, as it appears to pose a serious safety risk. I am happy to provide additional documentation or bring the vehicle in for inspection if needed. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

The contact stated the failure had become more frequent over the past several months. There were no warning lights illuminated. Had my 3rd service done on my 2022 Honda Cr-v ex-l 5/24/21 and for the third time the rear end was out of alignment. When I researched the issue online I found that this was an issue with this body style Cr-v and a TSB was issued for this due to the excessive tire wear that is happening due to this alignment issue. My tires had been making a whomping sound since after my second service at 15000 miles. My vehicle now has 22750 miles on the tires and has worn unevenly causing the whomping sound and need to be replaced prematurely. They have worn down from 10. 1/32nds to between 5/32nd to 6/32nds depending where on the tire you measure. This is due to the alignment being out and causing this uneven wear. After showing the dealership the TSB about this they reached out to their american Honda district rep who graciously agreed to assist in helping with the cost of replacing my tires due to this issue. I had also contacted Honda consumer affairs to report my unhappiness with this issue and they informed me that my year model was not covered by the issued TSB 20-081 and 20-048 and refused to honor the repair under 20-081 and pay to have the alignment done to the new specs described in TSB 20-048. They stated it only covers through model year 2018-2021 which is the same body style as the 2022 and I am having the same issue that was reported as the previous years vehicle. The alignment should not be going out in that short of time and causing excessive tire wear. I did not have this issues with my two previous Honda's being driven over the same roads. The 2022 model Cr-v should be included in the TSB's.
Steering component locks up causing the vehicle to become slightly difficult to make turns and I get clicking sounds from steering column took vehicle to get fixed at independent service center they installed new rack and pinion plus other parts and with labor cost over four thousand dollars paper invoice available upon request I’ve owned Honda 2017 crv lx since 2017 which I bought new. Problem started in the beginning of may of 2024. No warming lights messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the start of problem.

I purchased my vehicle used in 2019 and immediately noticed a loud creaking noise from the front passenger area, especially in colder weather when driving over bumps at low speeds. By 2024, the noise became louder, more frequent, and occurred in all temperatures. In October 2024, I lost control of my vehicle and nearly flipped. Warning lights briefly appeared, indicating possible suspension issues, but they disappeared before I could diagnose the problem. Unfortunately, I had no choice but to continue driving despite the safety risk. In February 2025, I had a flat tire on the front passenger side and discovered it was nearly bald—far more worn than the other tires of the same age. Upon removal, it became clear that the front lower control arm was in a dangerously unnatural state and needed replacement. I recalled seeing a 2012 recall for this exact part in my Honda account, but when I entered my VIN, it stated the recall didn’t apply—likely due to age rather than the actual defect. This is a life-or-death issue that could easily lead to a fatal crash. Honda must address this immediately.
Purchased vehicle March 6,2024. On the test drive I noticed some front end passenger issues and jerking of steering wheel while driving. I was assured it was a tire issue and alignment. I put new pads, rotors, calipers on front end and bought new tires. Car is still jerking from side to side while trying to steer no matter the speed but worse over 50 mph.
My Cr-v lane keep assist will pull my vehicle one way or the other jarringly violently, and will overcorrect itself the rest of the time. The result being that I have nearly totally stopped using the feature. Recently, though, I have noticed a sticking point just off of dead center when steering in either direction- at any speed. The worst part of this issue is that it causes turning to be unsmooth because the wheel doesn't turn smoothly. At any speed, I can notice the weighting of the steering wheel when I hit the (replicatible) sticking point- and then it is as if the vehicle "skips a few steering teeth" because it cause the wheel to turn a little more quickly as if to catch up to where I had intended to point the tires. This issue has persisted to the point that I googled to see if other owners were having this issue, and that's when I discovered that NHTSA had added the 2023 Cr-v to an existing complaint involving Honda civics with the same steering components. I wish to lodge my complaint in the hopes of making Honda and the NHTSA aware that this issue is also affecting 2024 Cr-vs. I am extra frustrated because I feel like my front suspension/steering components are clunking where that was not an issue over the early life of the vehicle. For reference, I have put 13000 miles on the vehicle since purchasing 07/27/2023.
