1 Tail Light Switch problem of the 2008 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 09/01/2016

I am constantly replacing, tail lights, brake lights, third brake lights and reverse lights! all the locks whine when I put my vehicle in drive. They said that it would cost me $1200. 00 to replace them all ! I do not believe that they all need replacing! my lamp light is out and they said it would cost $180. 00 to fix that! I have had to have my back hatch repainted, and now above my windshield and grill need to be repainted! whats going to need repainting next?! I can not afford to have my crv repainted, and it is embarrassing! I hand wash my crv with special cloths! if Honda wants me continue buying their vehicles, they had better do something about this!!! I only take my Honda to the Honda vehicle for all oil changes, tire rotation, brakes, all fluid changes, alignments, tires, light bulb replacement (often). You name it, my crv goes to them for maintenance!.

2 Tail Light Switch problem of the 2005 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 09/03/2012

Have replaced low-beam headlights at least 8 times in two years. Both driver and passenger side. Have used sylvania, osram and wagner h1 bulbs. Bulbs last one to 6 months. Not a water problem. No sign of water in housings. Other bulbs also have shorter life than expected. Also had to replace dome light, running lights and tail lights during the same period. Obviously an electrical problem. Definitely a safety issue. Annoying and expensive. Headlights are easy to change but tail lights and running lights are not easy to change. You can find numerous complaints about this problem on the internet but there are no Honda recalls to address this issue. I have had other Honda, Toyota, Ford and gm vehicles where the headlights last indefinitely. Eight blown bulbs in two years is a design defect.

3 Tail Light Switch problem of the 2010 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 08/17/2012

Tail lights and headlights on the vehicle dim everytime the fan kicks on. Took it to the shop twice and they said that it is normal for them to dim when the fan kicks on. The first time however they said it was the battery and they replaced it, however no improvement have been seen and they still dim which can get dangerous at night time driving.

5 Tail Light Switch problem of the 1998 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 04/02/2006

This spring, while driving on the interstate my 1998 Honda Cr-v suddenly stalled. No warning at all. Luckily, I was able to pull to the shoulder. Turn the ignition off, wait a while and restart the car without another problem. A week or so later the same thing happened on local roads once one day and twice another day. Each time, I was blessed to be able to get to the center turn lane or off onto the shoulder without getting rear ended. It happened several more times before we could figure this out. My mechanic checked out the car and could find nothing "wrong". He looked on this site NHTSA and found the ignition switch recall. I took it to a curry Honda in chamblee, GA and they fixed it and the tail light assembly harness recall also. I've referred a few folks back to this site for future reference. Thanks, you may have saved my life. Btw- I love my Cr-v!!!.
