1 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2019 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 07/22/2025

Having done some research I discovered that my problem seems to be happening to a number of crv owners. My signal lights are flickering while the car is turned off. I discovered that Honda had done a recall to fix this problem on several other models but not the crv. From what I can determine is that this is a problem with the body control module. I feel that there seems to be a lot of crv with the same problem and maybe your organization might want to look into this. To see what has been posted you can go to utube and type in the link (2017 crv lights flickering when car is off).

2 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2003 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 07/15/2025

Srs light came on 2 months ago. Fear for my safety. Recall please. Electrical. Back rt window and rt front door lock cannot be operated from front driver door. Lighting. Back interior light does not turn off automatically. Paint is peeling from all over the car, especially on the front of it. Looks ghastly.

3 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2017 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 07/15/2025

Our 2017 Honda crv ex body control module has to be replaced due to the alarm system coming on and the car trying to start itself along with a parasitic drain. I have driven Honda's my entire life because they are suppose to be reliable and I guess this is no longer the case. Very disappointed with this vehicle.

4 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2024 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 07/03/2025

The 2023+ Honda crv hybrid model have paddles on the steering wheel that increase and decrease the strength of regenerative braking. I use this feature often on our 2024 hybrid model. The issue arises when increasing the strength to the second or third (highest) level. The braking force at these levels should trigger the brake lights to illuminate, but they do not. Often I see drivers brake late behind me because my vehicle is braking with noticeable strength, but the driver behind me can’t tell. So they slow late and very close to my vehicle’s rear bumper. Honda should recall the hybrids and retrofit the brake lights to activate when regenerative braking is increased to the second or third level. Just as Tesla brake lights activate when their regen braking system works by releasing the accelerator, Honda’s should activate when turned up to the higher levels.

5 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2017 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 04/14/2025

The car first does not respond to the key fob and when you look inside the dash is on despite not using push-to-start and you have to use the manual key to open the door. Then the car alarm will go off and continue not to repond to the keyfob until you, once again, use the manual key to unlock and silence th e car. The only solution I have gotten is to take the battery out of my key fob and disable push-to-start function. They already replaced my key fob and car battery and the problem has persisted. No recall information as of yet and I'm taking it to the dealership for further scrutiny. . .

6 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2018 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 01/20/2025

All lights on dash board on and would not cut off. We were told it was the battery that was bad. The battery in the vehicle was not a year old. We purchased the new battery and within a couple weeks it happened again with all of the lights on. This is a safety matter because this can cause problem with the heads to the motors or can just stop running. We took the car back to the dealer and then they said it maybe the fuel injectors. Now, we are paying for another maybe. This car is sending off different codes. No, one has inspected this car except the dealer. I was informed that if not inspected by Honda that it would not count. No, other symptoms before all lights on dash board just coming on. When the lights on dash board came on it was all light for all operations of the vehicle. We are not paying for fuel injectors to be replaced based on recommendation from Honda. We have several people we know that are currently having this problem with their crv. Please look into this expensive repair. My car is a 2018 with only 40,000 miles on it. This is not a car driven on a daily basis to work or anything. This is a safety matter as well due to it may just shut off while driving.

7 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2019 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 01/20/2025

I am filing a complaint regarding a premature failure of the led turn signal on my 2019 Honda Cr-v at only 81,000 miles. The turn signal is a critical safety component, and its failure presents a serious risk of accidents due to decreased visibility to other drivers. Unlike traditional bulbs that can be easily replaced, Honda’s led turn signals require replacing the entire headlight assembly at a cost of $1,200. 00, which is an unnecessary and expensive repair for a basic safety feature. The failure of an led component at this mileage suggests a defective part that should be investigated. Given that turn signals are an essential part of vehicle safety, I believe Honda should issue a recall or provide an extended warranty for this defect. Safety concerns: •the led turn signal failed unexpectedly, reducing visibility and increasing the risk of an accident. •unlike traditional bulbs, the led failure requires an expensive full headlight replacement, making it inaccessible for many drivers to afford repairs. Requested action: I urge the NHTSA to investigate this issue and consider issuing a recall or safety bulletin to ensure Honda takes responsibility for fixing this problem. This is a serious safety concern, and I believe it is unfair for consumers to bear the high cost of replacing an entire headlight assembly for what should be a long-lasting led component. I appreciate your time and consideration in reviewing this matter. Please let me know if any additional information is needed.

8 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2024 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 01/18/2025

I have a 2024 Honda Cr-v hybrid awd sport model. On two occasions within the past 3 months, I have attempted to start the car, but when I did so, the dashboard lights, including all the error indicators lit up and flashed, the alarm went off, and I couldn't drive the car. In both cases, I called roadside assistance. While waiting for the tow truck, we were able to shut off the car and alarm by putting the car into "accessory mode," (pushing the ignition button without a foot on the brake. ) but when we then tried to start the car normally (pushing start button with foot on brake) the electrical light show resumed and alarm started up all over again. Both times this happened, by the time the tow truck arrived (1-2. 5 hours) the car had "rebooted" so we just drove home. The first time this occurred, the Honda dealer had just performed the recall repair to the steering gear box 2 days before the first electrical failure.

9 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2023 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 01/02/2025

Vehicle: 2023 Honda Cr-v ex-l problem: headlights – poor visibility complaint description: the led headlights on my 2023 Honda Cr-v ex-l provide inadequate illumination at night. The beam is shadowy with dark zones, making it difficult to see pedestrians, signs, and road hazards, especially in rainy conditions. Even after checking alignment, the visibility remains unsafe. Other drivers often flash their high beams at me, mistaking my lights for being too dim or misaligned. This design presents a significant nighttime driving hazard.

10 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2025 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 12/29/2024

I am not the owner of a 2024 or 2025 Honda Cr-v but I am regularly blinded by their new dual low beam led headlamps on the road. These lamps are shockingly bright and exceed the glare of some other vehicles with high beams on. I suspect the beam pattern of these lamps is poorly designed and can blind other motorists either in an oncoming traffic flow or when the Cr-v driver is following a vehicle and blinding them via rear view and side view mirrors. Photo attached of example headlamps and comments from crv owners acknowledging they glare oncoming drivers.

11 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2019 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 12/23/2024

I am writing a complaint for 2019 Honda Cr-v. While I am aware of the fuel pump recall for this model, what is not recalled and needs to be are the multiple dashboard lights that turn on and remain lit that many owners of this model and several years earlier have not been able to find solutions for. The lights turn on regardless of having a new battery. 2017-2019 Honda crv owners have not been able to get a clear answer from dealers, and only have been told by Honda to "go to a dealer" who is not able to give a solution. Some have reported that the issue is poor fuel inspectors that needs to be replaced. Finding answers to this is costly after already investing in a vehicle that we trusted would be safe. The multiple dashboard lights are distracting and a safety hazard, and the fact that we do not know the reason they are turning on puts us in a position of driving on the road without knowing if our vehicle will stall, break down, etc. My personal vehicle has been inspected. I am requesting, at minimum, that if a recall cannot be issued, then owners be provided at least one free diagnostic service at a Honda dealer to address an issue that was the responsibility of the vehicle maker.

12 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2024 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 10/10/2024

October 10, 2024 at about 1200 hours, the entire dashboard display and the upper center console display unexpectedly went black with no visible readout after having drivin 1-1/2 hours on the highway. Pulling off the road, we were able to reset the brightness to maximum and just able to see the readout. This event continued to be repeated several times during the course of the day. We had less than 9000 miles on the odometer at the time. I have checked the fuses, battery, and battery connections-all are in order. This event again repeated itself two weeks later on our return trip. In addition, the fuel gage has failed to fully up date on the display after being reset at the pump. I'm concerned about the possibility of the computer being the problem. We have less than 12,000 miles on the crv hybrid. The danger to us and others is that we had no idea of our speed, fuel amount, safety warnings, turn signals, nor what other safeguards were not working. The car is available for inspection upon request. We felt that this safety issue was serious enough to report it nationally before taking it to the dealers, which we will now do along with the other safety recalls on it. At this time, it has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, insurance representatives. Upon completing our first aforementioned long trip, we have not seen the electrical problem repeat within the short distance we drive. Possibly related, the lane departure warning has been activated for no apparent reaason.

13 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2018 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 08/01/2024

As soon as I turn the vehicle on, all the warning lights turn on. I cannot use any safety features of the vehicle as the lights remain on. It started a year ago however used to go away itself. But this time it is consistent for over 10 days and not going away.

14 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2006 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 07/15/2024

The contact owns a 2006 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 mph at night, the driver's side low beam headlight had failed to operate as needed. The contact stated that the high beam headlights operated as needed; however, the driver's side low beam headlight was inoperable. The contact stated that no warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local mechanic who replaced the driver's side headlight bulb. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that the failure had become a recurring failure and had recently occurred to the passenger’s side low beam headlight. The contact researched online and became aware of similar failures with other like vehicles. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.

15 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2019 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 07/03/2024

The turn signals rapidly flicker on & off when the crv is parked, engine off and continued off for hours. The turn signals flicker intermittently all night every night. I informed american Honda and headquarter Honda in clermont, FL the symptoms exactly mirrored the symptoms of a known questionable body control module that is used throughout their product line up and involved in a huge existing recall. I have a video I would like to share of the flickering lights.

16 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2020 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 06/01/2024

The past year vehicle drivers side signal light and mirror light stays on when vehicle is turned off causing the battery to drain on the vehicle. Independent mechanic ran test unable to find issue. Multiple owners of the Honda crv are experiencing the same issue with out any help from Honda causing dangerous situation in operations vehicle. Turn signal randomly will go off when driving the vehicle or turning left signal won’t turn on sometimes.

17 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2024 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 05/01/2024

Headlights are super dim, not lighting the road properly. My halogen headlights on my old 2016 Mitsubishi outlander are much brighter than these Honda leds. To make matters worse, headlights are aimed a bit high. I took it to Honda service and complained and they acknowledged that the lights are aid a bit high and that they are weak, but cannot do anything about it. Honda should recall these headlights, they are a road hazard. You cannot see properly at night and if it rains and it is night, these lights might as well be off as they are completely useless. I follow Cr-v facebook owner group and many people are complaining about these headlights.

18 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2018 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 02/16/2024

Initially we had check engine light on and we felt that the car had difficulty to start after stopped at traffic light. We had to restarted the engine to solve the stall problem. We took the car to a mechanic and he changed oxygen sensor and spark plugs but the problem came back. Then we received the recall letter realized it was exactly the same problem we had. The mechanic re-examined the car and confirmed that fuel pump was the problem. The recall letter told us to wait for replacement. Since we did not have another car we had to use it. On February 16, the situation became worse. We almost ran into crash on high way 95. The check engine light kept flashing and the car seemed to lose power in the middle of high way. We managed to pull over. It was very scary and it was lucky to avoid any harm in this incident. . Talking to Honda service was not helpful. They insisted on us to pay diagnosis fee of $195 to do the evaluation and tried to deny the third-party mechanic's opinion. We lost trust of their objectivity to do a fair check.

19 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2025 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 01/12/2024

The headlights on this vehicle are very dim. It's very hard to see when traveling at night in dark areas and even much worse when in inclement weather. Calls to the dealer have all ended with them saying they have had no complaints but many consumers across the country have filed similar complaints online. Please assist in any way you can. * date entered below relates to the date I first leased the vehicle. I have not had an accident.

20 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2024 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 01/12/2024

The supposedly “led headlights on this vehicle is very dim and very unsafe to drive. I have contacted Honda of marysville wa state about the headlights inability to provide light on the roads but was ignored. We almost had an accident because the headlights are so dim we almost hit another vehicle. This needs to be addressed by Honda before something bad happens.

21 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2018 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 01/06/2024

The body control module malfunctioned in my crv. The alarm was going off at random and the car would start into accessory mode by itself after being shut off (after use). This is a safety concern as it draws attention to me, the driver, when parking my car in a public space. For females, this can be scary and is especially dangerous as after this the car will typically not start, nor will the doors lock, for several minutes. If it occurs in a garage, I worry about any emissions coming from the car (carbon dioxide) if the car were to start on its own, which is what was happening in my 2 car garage. I took the car to the dealer, who is replacing the body control module. I also read online that Honda is recalling certain 2018-2020 accord sedan, accord hybrid, and 2019-2020 insight vehicles due to this issue, though 2018 crvs were not included. The problem first appeared 1/6/2024, there were no warnings prior to it appearing. I had to get the battery jumped as it ended up dying and the same situation happened - I then took the car to the dealership.

22 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2018 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 01/05/2024

On my way home, the car began to tremble and make a very strange noise. I couldn't stop because I was on the highway, the next day all the lights car on the dashboard were on, I dropped my car on the dealer and still is there,.

23 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2024 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 01/02/2024

This hybrid model does not display red brake lights during regenerative braking, at any of the settings. I have have had two occurrences where the driver behind me was apparently not aware that my vehicle was slowing somewhat rapidly, and thus nearly drive into the back of my vehicle. One of those drivers mentioned that they did not see any brake lights even though I was slowing down, approaching an intersection. I can see how this might be a safety issue. If Tesla can have this function on their cars software then why cannot Honda? my vehicle also has times when I am travelling on straight city streets with no traffic in front of me, where the automatic emergency braking come on quite firmly for a second or two, without any apparent reason. Again, this presents a possible safety hazard to the vehicles behind me who may be following a little closer than they should, and may possible drive in to the back of my vehicle. Again, I am not aware of any brake lights present on my vehicle when this happens. A big improvement would be in the manner in which the radar sees things and makes false applications of this braking system, as well as having teh vehicle brake lights activate when this system decides to engage.

24 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2019 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 12/26/2023

Was parked on side of road. No previous warning lights. Car would not start. Unable to put on hazard lights in dark on highway. Had to be towed. All dash wearing lights on only. Was at dealer 2 months prior due to all dash lights on and power failure. Replaced battery and car was re coded per dealer. Prior to that all dash lights came on when car turned off and had to disconnect battery cable every night. Now car does not turnover when jumped and battery charged. Dealer thinks might be a Smart unit and parasitic battery drain. Car only has 42000 miles on it. No hazards, worried about being rear ended. I what if there was an abrupt power failure while driving. Living in wisconsin what if stranded in freezing temps. Unreliable car due to manufacture defects.

25 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2023 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 12/09/2023

This vehicle has the new "signature" Honda headlights. The low beam has two illuminated lights which oncoming drivers mistake as high beams. They flash their high beams at me to inform me that I am driving with high beams turned on when I am not temporarily blinding me and creating an unsafe situation. I live in a rural area with mostly single carriageway roads and this happens almost every time I drive at night.

26 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2021 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 11/11/2023

Interior lights switch does not seem to work properly. It started a couple of months ago. I have had issues with the automatic braking when the car "thinks" there is something in front of me and slams on the brakes. 4 out of 5 times there was nothing there. 1 of those times was during a rain storm, so that time I chalked it up to the radar being wet. I have also had several instances when the car flashes "brake" when there is no reason for it. Similarly, when in reverse, the car again "thinks" there is something behind me and beeps when there is nothing within 50 feet of my car. I keep my cameras and radar clean at all times. Before each trip, I wipe them clean.

27 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2023 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 10/04/2023

Tail lights cracked on their own during summer possibly due to high heat index. Adaptive cruise control system has given me an error/failure to start up several times when starting my vehicle.

28 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2018 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 08/22/2023

Danger light came on tell me to pull over.

29 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2023 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 08/07/2023

Driver side headlight stopped working, including low beam, high beam, turn signal. Dealer replaced whole headlight assembly under warrenty.

30 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2004 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 08/06/2023

While driving down the freeway at 6:00 am in the morning, the headlights flashed on and then off intermittently. I thought nothing of it and then they went out completely and would not come back on right away. I was driving in complete darkness and thankfully the bright headlights still worked. After this incident, my left headlight completely stopped working and the right-side low beam will come on intermittently. The bulb in the left side appears to be working and I replaced it and it still doesn't come on.

31 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2018 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 06/28/2023

I am writing to express my concern and disappointment regarding persistent electrical issues with my 2018 Honda Cr-v (VIN: [xxx] ). My vehicle has recently experienced multiple warning lights turning on simultaneously, including brake, vsa, and tpms. After inspection, I was informed that the issue may be related to the battery or sensor systems, even though the vehicle has not experienced any incidents or misuse. I would like to emphasize that this is a well-known issue reported by many 2018 Cr-v owners, as evidenced in online forums, service bulletins, and consumer complaints. It is extremely frustrating to be responsible for repair costs for what appears to be a design or manufacturing flaw. Additionally, I visited a local Honda dealership for diagnosis, but I was given no explanation regarding the cause of the problem and was simply asked to pay for service. I found this experience to be highly unprofessional and upsetting, especially considering the seriousness of the issue and my loyalty to the brand. Given the potential safety risks and the common nature of this problem, I respectfully request that Honda consider my case for goodwill repair coverage or reimbursement. I am also aware of an open fuel pump recall (campaign: 24-007:6fe00) on this vehicle, and would like to confirm that any and all necessary service campaigns are addressed. Please let me know how to proceed, or if you require additional documentation. Thank you for your time and understanding. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

32 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2017 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 04/10/2023

Honda Cr-v head unit or central console refuses to dim. This is a serious safety threat as display is glaringly bright and distorts night vision. I did take the vehicle to dealership for inspection and recommendation was to replace the head unit as they think this is a hardware issue. Professionally, I am a software engineer and I find it very hard to accept that this is a hardware issue. The hardware otherwise works perfectly with no defect. Judging by my experience this looks like software is overriding user inputs. Internet forums are full of similar reports by many users. As this can be a serious safety issue, I request you to look into this issue.

33 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2020 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 03/01/2023

Headlight assembly fogging from excess water entry reduces visibility of daytime running lights.

34 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2017 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 02/15/2023

I demand answers for the issues I have been facing with my vehicle. I have been to multiple dealerships, but none of them have been able to provide a satisfactory solution. The dashboard lights have abruptly turned on, rendering various features such as radio, hvac, power steering, brakes, cruise control, and others useless. Every time we have read the codes, different issues have been identified without any explanation as to why they are happening. It's high time that someone takes accountability for the problem and comes up with a solution.

35 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2017 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 02/10/2023

There is a known issue with Honda's body control module (bcm) in 2017 accord, pilot, insight, but except the cvr. Upon researching online, it looks like many 2017 crv owners are experiencing the same issue with the bcm; crv is not being recalled, but all other Honda models are. Bought it to our car technician, he indicated many cvrs are experiencing the same issue and recommended us to bring it to the Honda dealer. The Honda dealer wanted to charge us $1,700 to repair it, which is unacceptable when the bcm should be added into the recall as many parts are supplied by the same vender. Why did crv is not part of the recall?.
