Honda CR-V owners have reported 6 problems related to turn signal (under the exterior lighting category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Honda CR-V based on all problems reported for the CR-V.
Headlights, brake lights, turn signal lights continue to burn out. On a monthly basis we are paying to have them replaced. Then we get stopped for one being out, take it to our mechanic and they are working. Nothing short of frustrating. These occur when driving and when stopped. All driving situations. This has been going on for the 20 or so months and appears to be coming more frequently.

Wiring harness on passenger side headlight is breaking leading to marker light, turn signal and headlamp failure. The wires are breaking at the point where they leave the wire sleeve in the harness. In this location, the conductors are protected from stress only by heat shrink tubing and the wire insulation. Stress from the weight of the rising wire harness and transferred strain from the back of the lamp connectors is highest at this point. Melting of the wire insulation and heat shrink tubing was found.
Headlights keep burning out. I have replaced them four times in the past two months. The dashboard lights are burning out too. I had to replace the glove box light, the temperatue control, air conditioning, recirculate, odometer lights. Now the rpm light is starting to go. It is getting very expensive to be replacing all these lights. The headlights are $8. 99 each and I paid $230 to replace the dash lights. After replaceing the dash lights, when I use the remote to unclock my car, all the dash lights blink three times (they never did that before). I also noticed that when I turn on my turn signal I hear a high pitch noise. I am worried that my headlights will go out when the store is closed and I can't get it fixed. I may get a ticket or get into an accident. I drive to and from work in the dark. Also what if both headlights go out at the same time, that could be dangerous. I worry that my spedometer may go I and I won't know how fast I am going. I have told the dealer that I think there is an electrical problem, but they insist there is not. I do not agree with them.

Left and right turn signal lever does not return to the off position during lane changes - no loud alarm alert to driver that directional signal is continuously operating. Many other makes and models produce a loud audible tone to alert the driver of such dangerous conditions - but the Honda does not.
The position of the turn signal at the top of the Honda Cr-v and the clear lens has resulted in me being hit 3 times in the rear in the 1 1/2 years I have owned this vehicle. The last incident, the person who hit me insisted that I did not have my turn signal on even when he stood behind the vehicle and looked at it -- it was only when pedestrians told him that the signal was on did he finally realize that he just had a hard time seeing it. The first incident the woman said she didn't see the turn signal. In all 3 cases, the accidents occurred on a sunny day. I am constantly being sworn at and yelled at to turn on my turn signal and I get out and look and it is indeed on. The position of the signal at the very top of the vehicle is higher than any other vehicle on the road -- not in a position that people routinely look for a turn signal. In addition, the clear lens make it very difficult to see the turn signal on sunny days-- I have purposely driven behind 2005 Cr-vs (the only year that Honda had clear lens on the turn signals) and can understand why people have a problem seeing the signal. I called Honda and expressed my concern about my safety in this car because the position of the turn signal so high on the car and the clear lens -- I was told that it was the design of the Cr-v and they got approval for the design so they were not going to do anything to improve the safety. I asked them why the clear lens were used for only 2005 thinking that other had problems with the clear lens so they switched back to the yellow lens in 2006 but they denied this. They even refused to switch out the clear lens for the yellow lens that they have used for every other year of this vehicle. I wish someone would look into this by driving behind 2005 Cr-vs on sunny days and checking out the turn signals.
Consumer cited the poor or lack of service by the dealership as well as the poor quality of his vehicle. The consumer had several problems with the vehicle. When the consumer took the vehicle to the dealer for a routine oil change, the cap was not tightened properly which caused a significant oil leak. The vehicle failed to start on another occasion, it was determined that the fuel pump failed, which has since failed again. The vehicle had a flat tire, when the consumer went to change the tire, she noticed the vehicle did not have a jack. The timing belt was replaced, however when the consumer proceeded to drive there was a strange noise coming from under the hood, the consumer discovered the belt tensioner was not properly adjusted. The parking brake was adjusted. The transmission did not shift properly, the rear differential fluid was replaced, the right cv boot was leaking and the turn signals did not cancel.
