My mirror turn signal and left front turn signal flashes randomly on its own. Several times in a 24 hour period. The left back turn signal does not. I smell some type of electrical burning fumes from the left side of the car next to the hood where it comes to windshield. This is very distracting as it is happening randomly and often. This happens when the vehicle is parked , unattended, and in the off position. All times of the day and night. Also, while driving my touch screen system will randomly switch the brightness and change from nav to phone to radio ect all by itself, it is distracting to the driver. .

Smoke started arising from the steering column while driving on a city street during the daytime. Driver was not using lights at the time and was using normal occasional turn signals for a urban metropolitan area. The turn signal was evaluated and showed melting of the turn signal switch and the terminal harness. This is similar to what is described in NHTSA 12v-136 or 12v-486. Honda America and Honda dealerships said the 2002 Honda Cr-v was not included, because VIN was not included in the recall. However, the model and year of the car were included and having the same problems described as previously mentioned recalls.

Both low beam headlamps go out. Hi-beam lamps still work. The problem is the contacts on the dimmer switch corrode; there have also been reports of scorched connectors - meaning the possibility of fire. To access the switch you have to remove the steering column cover and then locate the dimmer/turn signal wiring harness. Most consumers would not know how nor be able to do this. This is extremely dangerous. It has been reported many times on internet blogs.
