While driving down the freeway at 6:00 am in the morning, the headlights flashed on and then off intermittently. I thought nothing of it and then they went out completely and would not come back on right away. I was driving in complete darkness and thankfully the bright headlights still worked. After this incident, my left headlight completely stopped working and the right-side low beam will come on intermittently. The bulb in the left side appears to be working and I replaced it and it still doesn't come on.

I am writing to express my concern and disappointment regarding persistent electrical issues with my 2018 Honda Cr-v (VIN: [xxx] ). My vehicle has recently experienced multiple warning lights turning on simultaneously, including brake, vsa, and tpms. After inspection, I was informed that the issue may be related to the battery or sensor systems, even though the vehicle has not experienced any incidents or misuse. I would like to emphasize that this is a well-known issue reported by many 2018 Cr-v owners, as evidenced in online forums, service bulletins, and consumer complaints. It is extremely frustrating to be responsible for repair costs for what appears to be a design or manufacturing flaw. Additionally, I visited a local Honda dealership for diagnosis, but I was given no explanation regarding the cause of the problem and was simply asked to pay for service. I found this experience to be highly unprofessional and upsetting, especially considering the seriousness of the issue and my loyalty to the brand. Given the potential safety risks and the common nature of this problem, I respectfully request that Honda consider my case for goodwill repair coverage or reimbursement. I am also aware of an open fuel pump recall (campaign: 24-007:6fe00) on this vehicle, and would like to confirm that any and all necessary service campaigns are addressed. Please let me know how to proceed, or if you require additional documentation. Thank you for your time and understanding. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Honda Cr-v head unit or central console refuses to dim. This is a serious safety threat as display is glaringly bright and distorts night vision. I did take the vehicle to dealership for inspection and recommendation was to replace the head unit as they think this is a hardware issue. Professionally, I am a software engineer and I find it very hard to accept that this is a hardware issue. The hardware otherwise works perfectly with no defect. Judging by my experience this looks like software is overriding user inputs. Internet forums are full of similar reports by many users. As this can be a serious safety issue, I request you to look into this issue.

I demand answers for the issues I have been facing with my vehicle. I have been to multiple dealerships, but none of them have been able to provide a satisfactory solution. The dashboard lights have abruptly turned on, rendering various features such as radio, hvac, power steering, brakes, cruise control, and others useless. Every time we have read the codes, different issues have been identified without any explanation as to why they are happening. It's high time that someone takes accountability for the problem and comes up with a solution.
There is a known issue with Honda's body control module (bcm) in 2017 accord, pilot, insight, but except the cvr. Upon researching online, it looks like many 2017 crv owners are experiencing the same issue with the bcm; crv is not being recalled, but all other Honda models are. Bought it to our car technician, he indicated many cvrs are experiencing the same issue and recommended us to bring it to the Honda dealer. The Honda dealer wanted to charge us $1,700 to repair it, which is unacceptable when the bcm should be added into the recall as many parts are supplied by the same vender. Why did crv is not part of the recall?.
The reverse camera works poorly and is not clearly especially if it’s wet outside. Water smears on the camera more easily than other cars I have owned even if it’s not actively raining. My 2013 g37 and 2017 mercedes glc300 never had visibility issues for the camera and the Infiniti is 11 years older. Honda states it’s normal. I think it’s a bad design that allows camera lens to hold water on it. It’s a potential danger when reversing during rain or if car is wet.
Inferior light for night driving. I avoid night driving but there are times when I must. Had to take a pet recently at for emergency help.

[xxx] 2015 Honda crv would not start, called aaa who determined battery needed to be replaced. Aaa replaced battery on the spot upon purchase. [xxx] 2015 Honda crv would not start, called aaa who determined battery was bad, needed to be replaced, aaa replaced with a aaa battery. Battery drain continued, exhausted the aaa road side allotment. 10/2023 local service center checked battery and determined aaa was bad. Purchased and had interstate battery installed. Battery drain continued. Purchased allstart microburst to jump start the 2015 Honda crv. 12/15/2023 went to balise Honda (see attachments) for diagnostic testing. Balise Honda provided a diagnostic result for the "good" battery, but determined that the remote start system that was installed by boch Honda when I purchase the 2015 Honda crv on [xxx] was the problem. The remote start was disconnected. 9/17/2024 went back to balise Honda requested another diagnostic test. Car needed to be "jump started" almost daily even though the crv is driven daily to charge the battery. Disconnecting the remote start did not solve the battery drain. Balise determined a $3212. 12 instrument panel wire harness and keyless access unit was needed. No diagnosis report provided. 10/9/2024: to date the electrical cause is uncertain. Found a consumer reports article that confirmed there are issues with the 2015 Honda crv: [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

When I first purchased the vehicle (brand new in 2020), the condensation in the tail lights occurred but the Honda dealer replaced it since it was under warranty. It’s still happening and it’s even more severe now risking the brake and turn lights burning out. The same Honda dealer now refuses to replace them despite the tail lights still being under the 3 year 36,000 mile warranty.

The headlights on both sides, specifically the low beams, will almost randomly turn off for up to 30 seconds. I used to drive about 90 miles at night, and on the highway this is dangerous since the speed limit is 65mph. It’s a danger to other people on the road since it’s incredibly difficult to see with the headlights turn off like that. It’s happened multiple times on my ~90 mile trips but have not taken it to a dealer for it to be checked. After the headlights come back on, it’s rare that it happens again but has happened multiple times within a quick span of each other. I’m quick to turn the high beams on, since they are still functional during this time. I don’t want to blind the vehicle in front of me by potentially shining the high beams through their rear view mirror. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to the problem occurring nor after. The vehicle is available to be inspected.
Both driver and passenger day time running lights have burned out. The Honda cr v has 19000 miles on it. Honda did a recall on the accords for the same issue, why not the cr v and civic that have the same problem.
2010 Honda Cr-v. Based on a Honda dealer report and diagnosed in las vegas, nevada, on August 27, 2022. The a/c compressor, coil and a/c system clutch burned out during a trip through high dessert on interstate 15 north from California to a trip to las vegas, nevada. Temperature 107 degrees, heavy raining and in the middle of flash warning storm. According with mechanic and Honda service advisors at nevada's Honda dealership, the a/c compressor's friction also, most likely rested engine power and proper performance to engine water pump and engine alternator. During this incident, we (my spouse and I) were so concerned of vehicle total engine failure and monitored engine temperature constantly, during remaining part of the trip. We continued traveling at reduced speed at approximately 40 miles per hour due to heavy rain and high altitude. We were forced to stop and reduce the speed to 15 miles per hour due to lack of visibility and poor engine performance and lack of power. The a/c compressor and a/c clutch burned-out completed, and a/ c ceased to fully operate. Cost of repair is estimated at $2,934. 55 this incident has similar conditions and a/c system failure, as previously reported in NHTSA complaint no. 10056005.

The contact owns a 2021 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed at night, the vehicle stopped independently. Additionally, the contact stated the headlights failed to operate as needed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact stated that the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 9,000.

Shortly after 3 yrs of ownership, problem lights on the dashboard for the entire system turned on (road departure mitigation system problem, brake hold system problem, vehicle stability assist problem, hill start assist problem, adaptive cruise control problem, brake system problem, emergency brakes, emission system problem, tire pressure monitor problem, lane assist, etc). That was in August 2021. We were told a new battery was needed, so we changed it. The lights went off. Eventually it happened again. The battery was readjusted, so it reset everything. It has happened several other times. It happened again recently (April 2022) while driving. The safety issue took place during this incident when the vehicle started to decelerate (from 45 mph) on a busy road. We barely made it to the shoulder, turned off the car, and restarted it. This keeps happening with no repair solution yet.
Every few months one of my low beam headlamps goes out, and I replace it to stay in compliance with local traffic laws. Within the last week, both low beam headlights went out, and both sockets show burn damage that is similar to the issue reported in NHTSA recall: 04v086000. I am concerned that even if I replace both the lights and the sockets, there may be something else going on that could cause a fire. I'd like NHTSA to look into this please. Thank you.
Driver's side low beam light went out. High beam and marker lights remained in working order. Spontaneously came back on. A few days later 12/23/2021, both the driver's side and the passenger side front low beams did not illuminate. Again, the high beam lights and marker lights remained in working order. I tapped the plastic on the lens, and both of them came back on. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Having no lights creates a serious safety problem in the darkness of night. I have not taken it to the dealer or independent mechanic yet. No officer, manufacturer or others have inspected the vehicle. No warning lamps illuminated and no messages were visible on the dashboard.

We have a 2020 Honda crv lx -purchased new. This is our second Honda vehicle, that has the same defect, poor head lights. Night driving is a nightmare and we limit it as much as possible. High beams and low beams on a dark street are driving at risk. Several Honda crv lx owners on our street have the same night driving experience. I contacted the dealer staff regarding this saftey fault, but the responce was "I never heard any thing about that ! ? they need to be updated ! this is a great vehicle, had prior great dealer service, we have been treated as family, from the owner on down ! but my wife and I have dangerious vehicle as I have found out thru research. Low-beam headlight bulb repeatedly fails in 2006 Honda Cr-v, more often on the driver’s side, requiring replacement two to three times per year. This has occurred since the car was purchased in 2011 over ten years ago. Recall is needed for this common problem.
My cars automatic braking system engages when nothing is around. This has happened multiple times. One of these time I recall traveling with my child at a sped of 50-+mph. It was fearful for the both of us. This alone is dangerous, it could become deadly given different weather conditions causing loss of control of the car. I believe this issue will eventually cause someone injury and/or death. During this time my child was recovering from traumatic brain trauma. The dealership is waiting on a part the they feel should repair the issue. The emergency brake light flashed, beeped and slammed on breaks. I believe this is more than a sensor issue I believe it’s an electrical issue. The lights sometimes brighten instead of deeming in on coming traffic, there have been times that the usb port don’t work an then times that they do with the same charger, the windows an sunroof open on it’s on, the volume will max out an not turn down or off, the pixels on the screen become broken up(I have pictures) also when the car is idling the rear exhaust smalls like fumes from spray paint or something similar. I bought the car in may 2021 w/5miles - March 2023 w/about 7,500miles, I’ve had to call roadside assistance 3/4 times. I am a single mom with a young son who suffers from 4 rare diseases. I am unable to run out an get a new car. If these issues fix I’ll be on my own in the next 13 months with unnecessary expenses.
Lowbeams went out when I got off work but highneams were working. I bought new bulbs the next day and the problem unchanged. So I checked all fuses and relays those were all fine. I proceeded to remove the steering column cover and disconnected the connectors and the gray one had what looks like rust and or melted. This is very alarming because until I can replace the connector I have to drive home at nights with high beams. This may cause an accident and or me getting pulled over for having highbeams on. I do have a picture of said connector I took today 8/16/21.

When driving the brakes will seize up especially in the winter followed by a grinding sound. It did it twice yesterday(12/19/2020)while driving in the snow and the car will often slide making it difficult to stop. I have complained about this several times before on several occasions and once was told my brake like is probably frozen. The car dealership even took the converter heat shield off as it was dented and they thought that might be the issue. It is a scary situation when your brakes don't work good and you can't stop. I have changed my brakes on several different occasions but it still does it. Lights have been flickering and the car has even shutoff in the middle of parking.
Just purchased a 2015 crv ex. Everything was copasetic until the first time it wouldn't start up. When I pressed the ignition I let off the brake seemingly too early, because as soon as I did so, it putted to a halt. Turned it over on a jump and chalked it up to leaving a light on or old/week battery. The second and third time, about two and three weeks later was reason to be because of the same cause. Then the occasional not starting turned into needing a jump every time I used the vehicle. I took it to two auto supply stores to get codes on the issue. Onr shop said bad alternator diode, the other a bad alternator and bad battery. Then the battery blew up. I killed the car when I got home and tried to start it up again to see if the battery held a charge. When I tried to turn it over again, I pushed the button immediately after pressing it off. I imagine I tried to start it too soon to when I killed it because there was a deep boom, to find out the battery blew up. There was a large hole in thr side of it. So I put in a new/used/ larger battery that was never able to start the car itself so I continued jumping it every time I used it snd never turning it off while running errands. At one point I had a friend put his multimeter to use to test the alternstor. Those numbers where all over the place, jumping up and down on an idle. At this point ive chalked it up to a bad diode, parasitic drain, or bad wiring. Help! I can't afford to fix this thing.
1. Numerous people including myself have been affected by this car draining a brand new battery and leaving people stranded and needing a jumpstart. My car is currently at the dealership again to have this issue looked at, last time they told me I needed a new battery, now they can't give me that same reason since my battery is brand new. 2. My instrument panel wouldn't dim making it extremely bright at night and difficult to see the road. Honda had to replace the entire system. 3. My car randomly flashes a collision warning "brake" while beeping so loudly when there's actually nothing in front of me whether I'm on the freeway or side streets and this I believe is the most dangerous problem of all since my car has the ability to brake for me if it senses a collision, and my car braking abruptly for no reason could be what gets me into an accident!.
Head light low beams will not turn on, bulbs are good but the switch is turning off high beams but not turning on low beams.
The running lights & low beam lights fail repeatedly. Running, standing or start up; it doesn't matter. The bulbs burn out. Both lights use the same halogen bulb. This is the same problem covered in your Honda Cr-v recall # 12v13600 (Honda # s34) affecting the 2002,'03 and 2004 model years. Model years 2005 and possibly beyond should have been included.

This past summer, I was driving by myself when all of the sudden, the infotainment center (the screen that controls everything and is at the center of it all) started beeping uncontrollably and the screen's brightness setting started going from full brightness to full darkness. I had no idea what was going on. I was terrified and almost got into a car accident, rear ending the car in front of me. I became very distracted and startled. I wasn't sure if the car computer or battery was over heating, I wasn't sure if I should pull over across two lanes of traffic to make an emergency stop. . . It was terrible. I tried everything to get it to stop. Nothing would do it. Luckily, I was a few minutes away from home. I pulled into my driveway in a panic and shut the car off. I turned it back on and it was gone. I chalked this up to maybe a one time computer glitch and let it go. Two days later on the highway, the same thing happened. This continued many more times randomly without any warning or explanation. I never received a notice or warning in the mail. I wish my story ended there, but it doesn't. The random obnoxious beeping and flashing eventually stopped. However, two weeks ago I was driving home from work at night and noticed I could barely see the lines on the road. I almost hit a deer. Confused, I realized the brightness was turned all the way up on the infotainment center and on the screen directly behind the steering wheel. I attempted to turn the brightness down, but quickly realized the screens were frozen on the highest brightness setting. Even when I would press the (-) symbol to turn it down, it would scale down to the lowest setting, yet remain on full brightness. Honda told me they couldn't do anything. Tonight, I almost hit a pedestrian because I couldn't see them until the last minute. I've never been so mortified. Something has to be done. I have videos.
Head lights just turn off and I don't touch the switch, the high beam work fine. No warning they just go off and don't work on the lower standard setting both lights.
Low beams do not remain on when high beams are activated, leaving poor visibility near the front of the vehicle.

Was driving the vehicle at night and both low beam head lights went out and remained out. Had to stop to prevent crash. Driver could not see. Very dangerous! high beams working but did not realize until later. Read that this is a problem with many Hondas and a TSB issued for other models, but not this one. This model and year needs a TSB as well. Read that others with this model and year have had same problem but there is no TSB for it.
Video or navigation screen will not dim and blinds driver when driving after dark.
This lighting of this vehicle is poor. The low beam lights seem adequate, but the hi-beam lights are not bright enough. Compared to other cars, the hi-beams are dim. Replacing the bulbs does not solve the problem, the new bulbs do not improve the lighting. . This defect is more apparent in rural settings, in areas where outside lighting is minimal/none. It can be dangerous where deer/wildife are common, as the reduced lighting limits reaction time. Searches on automotive forums reveal this problem seems common among 4th generation Honda crv's (2011-2016), as it seems it is mentioned on numerous forums and topic threads.
