The consumer did not understand why the same recall wasn't issued for his wife's vehicle, since the power steering pump failed and had to be replaced. Also, the gps navigation unit wa replaced, because the screen went dead.
Power steering failed at car park, difficulty steering the van out of parking spot,power steering resumed while driving at low speed. Problem reoccurred multiple time usually from starting the van and steering it out of parking spot. Honda found the power steering pump to be faulty and replaced it with me footing the bill of $687. 13,as the van was just out of the seven year extended warranty. Similar problem was noted when the van was about 2 years old but Honda couldn't replicate the problem at their center. . . . They never made a note of this in their records!.

Power steering pump failing. Nothing leads up to this, just the power steering stops working. The issue is mainly at low speeds and when trying to park - the power steering just stops working. We needed to have the power steering pump replaced and new fluid added. When taken to mechanic, told many customers have same issue as well as well documented complaints all over the internet.
Power steering pump failure for 2nd time in 2 years. Beyond warranty. Honda will not replace under warranty. Power steering reservoir has been re-designed due to known issue. Honda should fix this at no charge due to loss of power steering at low speeds.
Steering & control difficult at low speeds. Power steering pump failure at 52, 749 miles--required replacement. Same problem at 105,000 miles--required power steering pump replacement. . . Again. Same problem at 159,000 miles--required power steering pump replacement a third time.
Occasionally during heavy rain, we loose our power steering for a period of 20-45 seconds or more. At the same time the battery warning indicator lights up. It is almost impossible to control the vehicle when this occurs. Fortunately it has not happened in heavy traffic and have not had an accident as of yet. This is dangerous and could cause a very serious accident with serious injury or death. We have notified the Honda dealer whom tried to remedy the problem by changing the power steering pump but this failed to solve the problem and the issue remains. The dealer has been unable to fix the problem.
