36 Body problem

Failure Date: 07/24/2012

The morning of the 24th I opened my lift gate to put something in the trunk and once I lifted the gate up it just fell back down nearly crushing me. Had I not stopped it the glass would have broken as well.

37 Body problem

Failure Date: 06/17/2012

Back rear hatch lift struts suddenly failed. Hatch came crashing down with significant force. Did not directly see the event but it happened while my children were removing items from rear compartment. Rear hatch is very heavy and without operable struts the gate develops a significant force (appears to be large enough to cause injury). It is noticed that 2008 Honda Odyssey has a recall to similar part but for the powered lift gate version only. Honda dealer has replace parts, charged to owner = $178.

38 Body problem

Failure Date: 10/25/2011

The contact owns a 2008 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while parked, both rear sliding doors emitted a grinding noise while closing. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic. The technician stated that the center sliding rollers on each sliding door would have to be replaced or there could be body damage to the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.

39 Body problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2011

Lift-gate struts failure.

40 Body problem

Failure Date: 03/09/2011

The paint on the hood and roof of this vehicle is peeling off in droves. Large areas of vehicle are down to bare metal on both roof and hood of vehicle. Honda should repaint these vehicles at no charge to customer. Plenty of complaints online regarding same issue with other customers.

41 Body problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2008

Have three complaints. Complaint one: there is extremely long pedal travel for brake pedal. This travel gives the driver a sense of brake failure, as though the brakes don't work or will not stop vehicle. Has been noted in vehicle forums as a common problem complaint two: wind noise on the passenger and driver pillar that separates the front seat and the middle seat combination. Has been noted in vehicle forums this is a common problem. Complaint three: there is significant dirt in paint and paint shading where it doesn't match rest of vehicle (paint shading can be seen if the sun shines on the vehicle just right). Honda has offered to repaint affected parts. I feel this is a common problem and the owner shouldn't be required to have a new car repainted with less than 1000 miles. Has been noted in vehicle forums this is a common problem.

42 Body problem

Failure Date: 04/25/2008

Passenger doors on 2008 Honda Odyssey don't lock in place when they are open. . . This almost cause harm to my four small children with their hands and heads getting shut in the door. . . Took this back to the dealership they seemed to not find the problem when we took it to them. . .

43 Body problem

Failure Date: 03/19/2008

I have a safety concern for my 2008 Honda Odyssey lx. The sliding doors are very hard to open manually (from the inside and outside) when unlocked. In an emergency situation, a child or senior would be trapped inside the vehicle because he/she would not strong enough to open the sliding door.
