I was driving down the road and all the sudden I hear a loud bang/shatter noise. I look over and see that my passenger side mirror is hanging down and shattered. Didn’t notice any impact or anything when it happened. The mechanism that works the mirror broke. No damage to the plastic casing or nothing.

The auto idle start/stop feature failed to recognize a bad battery and shut the car off while I was stopped in the left turn lane. The vehicle failed to start and lost all power, including hazard lights and brake lights. I had no way of indicating to other drivers behind me that the vehicle was disabled other than getting out of the vehicle and waving them around me. This happened while I was taking my son to school and could have resulted in us getting in an accident or causing another accident. Honda was not able to identify root cause and replaced the battery. I do not trust this vehicle as reliable or safe any longer.

The night before christmas eve, I was commuting home from the neighboring city, which is about a 25 minute drive home from where I was currently located. It was late in the evening and 2 of my children were in the car with me. I live in a rural area that is extremely dark in most of the areas. As I'm driving along both of my low beams go out without warning. This made for a very dangerous situation. I reacted as quickly as I could to prevent an accident and tried my high beams. Fortunately, they turned on but unfortunately I had to drive the rest of the way home with my high beams on possibly blinding any driver that came in contact with me. Currently the low beams still are not working. I have read forum, after forum, after forum stating how this is a problem from a 2004 to at least a 2010 Odyssey before I discontinued reading any further. I'm not exactly sure what causes but I do know it's not caused by the spark plus, the light bulbs and there is no individual relay for this vehicle low beams independently.

Infortainment center shuts down and loses connection. Which means there is no communication with the backup camera or navigation. Popping noises from the front speakers start static and pop then the screen states connection lost then goes black. Turns back on in about 5-10 minutes depending. Also the lighting for the buttons around the center are not working as well. Idk if this is related or is an overload that the system cannot keep up.

Windshield wipers and also the key fob and the sliding doors as well as the blinkers do not work all at the same time first time it’s ever happened. It was December 8, 2023 and now it happened again in January 29 of 2024 and the issue still persisted when I look this issue up this has been an ongoing issue for many years and yet Honda has done nothing about this and it’s not just the 2009 it’s other years as well as other Hondas from other years as well, it is a defect within the company where they’re doing something that causes these things to go! it is a safety issue as this just happens out of nowhere without any warning while I’m driving. All of a sudden it just happened the first time and I didn’t even realize it until I didn’t hear the clicking and someone said hey your blinkers are not working. Also, the second time it happened happened all over again while I was driving out of nowhere would not work and it was raining as well and I couldn’t see anything and my lights wouldn’t work so it’s definitely a safety issue .

The engine vcm system is burning oil and destroying emissions systems on the vehicle. Catalytic converters are mainly affected as burned oil goes through the exhaust system. The check engine light comes on and the the engine starts to misfire and very abrupt engine vibrations make it into the cabin.

I have a 2019 Odyssey elite and the following lights come adaptive cruise control problem (acc); auto high-beam problem (a); road departure mitigation system problem; collision mitigation system problem; lane keeping assist problem (lkas); brake system lights. My problem is intermittent. I can make it go away most of the time by pouring water over the camera or spraying it from the windshield wipers fluid, then turning the car off and back on. That works sometimes. This makes me think it may be due to heat as the windshield (especially the black web lines around the camera) gets very hot. I also have noticed that at night or in cooler parts of the day the lights do not come on most of the time (have not kept a log of problem yet). One problem could be heat but cooling off with water does not always work. In that case, I lightly tap the camera case with a small rubber hammer (it is locate in front of my rear view mirror), turn the car off and back on, and the lights go out. Water plus tapping works and sometimes tapping alone works. This makes me theorize that the weather (heat in my case but I have seen other say it is cold due to snow) causes the cable/wiring within the camera to loosen (meaning weather [heat or cold] sensitive) cable connectors. Thus cooling with water and or light tapping fixes the problem until the next episode occurs. Who knows it could even be the windshield glass. As I said earlier, there is a black webbing type glass etching around the camera. Some say it is the battery, but I have yet to see a post where changing the battery fixed the problem. When the lights are off, all safety features (mitigation, adaptive cruise control, cruise control) work. I assume auto high beam and brakes system will work also. Forgot to add that when I turn the car off and back on, I have to press enter on the steering wheel a couple of times before the lights go off.
The contact owns a 2023 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the headlamps failed to properly illuminate the sides of the road on the driver’s and passenger’s side of the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact had spoken with the dealer to discuss trading the vehicle; however, the vehicle had not been taken to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 158.
Honda Odyssey 2021 has major safety issues – the van starts engine on itself, shuts the engine on itself, tail lights are on when the engine is running, the knob for the lights on the turn signal handle was in off position when the van was observed starting, running and shutting engine on itself – for no reason. In all occasions key fobs were untouched. Once Honda Odyssey was observed with the engine starting and shutting on itself when both of the key fobs were in 10 miles distance from the vehicle. Brought twice to the dealer, cannot fix it. Contacted Honda on 2/17/22 informed about the problem. Called Honda on 2/21/22 to check on the case, was told that will assign a manager to review this safety concern, but it may take two weeks, possibly two month or maybe more, depending how busy they are. 8 days have passed, no response yet from Honda. I am concerned that it may shut the engine on its own while driving.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the front driver's and passenger's side head lights displayed a horizontal line and above the horizontal line, no light was projected. Additionally, the light below the horizontal line was not adequate for safe driving. Keenan Honda (4311 w swamp rd, doylestown, PA 18902) was made aware of the failure. The contact was informed that another vehicle was brought in with the same issue, and the halogen bulbs were replaced with led bulbs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that they were aware of similar issues however, the vehicle needed to be diagnosed at the dealer. The contact was informed that the repair had to be paid for out of pocket or through the warranty coverage. The failure mileage was 36,000.

A couple weeks ago as me and my 2 toddler sons were going down the road. The vehicle had what seemed a power surge and taillights went out and power went low radio stopped and doors unlocked. Luckily we were close to home I got new fuse for lights radio said error but music didn't matter the next day I had to jump it to got work but seemed ok. The next few weeks I dealt with doors locking and unlocking. And one morning came out both doors were open. I didn't let boys ride after problems escalated one day doors stopped and got stuck in middle when they were getting out. It I replaced some fuses and everything seemed ok but most days battery felt work when starting. I went to get boys and I'm glad I didn't have them when it died in middle of road smoking I got it in parking lot. Called father and we took battery out to go get a new one. The battery was swollen water and acid spitting out like it was going to burst. New battery installed and drove it maybe 5 min back home. Thought well it was battery whole time. Went inside to open easter things with boys I walked outside hour later and smelled electrical fire smell bad there was smoke coming out of hood not aloft but battery was dead. It seems like something keeps pushing power through the different elements causing them to short. If you look up on internet dead battery 2002 Honda Odyssey nothing but story's of power surges making vehicles loose power burn out the list goes on and on. What if my boys and I had lost power on highway. Or door decided to open I don't know the problem but every story talks of it. Kids lives in these vehicles are in danger. Please help. I say it could easily be accidents I was just Smart enough to avoid them by disconnecting paying attention and be prepared. Not everyone is like me most hop in and go now I have no vehicle no help and think of all the other children in these van's. Thank you.
A brand new 2019 Honda Odyssey ex with 80 miles on it, started having trouble with vehicle's central display. Message network communication lost , even on slight moves while the car is on smooth freeways. Radio clicking static noise. Display unit turns off and on sporadically while the vehicle in motion or even sometimes when the vehicle is started from parking lot. Vehicle display goes blank completely. Cuts off back up camera, no radio, no bluetooth, no apps. As most of functions are controlled with touch screen feel like the vehicle is unsafe to operate. Dealer tried to fix it 2 times but now they blame Honda does not a solution yet. Raised a case (10281802) with Honda corporate but Honda refused to accept the problem and refused to give a loaner car and said its up to to dealer to give a loaner as a courtesy. I feel like I was sold a lemon. Both Honda corporate and Honda dealer is not to help me. Dealer says they cannot do anything. I feel the vehicle is not safe to drive with the central display unit which so critical to the vehicle's function. Worst part is radio clicking static noise cannot be controlled as the display is blank. All the above makes me frustrated that it happens on a new car and no one is helping me.
Supper loud static noise. Board controls shut down, cannot control heat, navigation shuts down. Supper loud static noise. Took to local Honda. . They aware of this issue but no solution to fix at this time. . . 3 times already. Also vehicle while operating. . When this noises occur feels like its loosing power.
Failure of high beam, running lights, directional signals, power door looks, intemittent wipers. Failed safety inspection. Mechanic worked all day could find the problem. I drove it home. A couple of days later it was working. I brought it back to get a inspection sticker. All good. Worked for about a week then stopped working. I realilized the only difference was that outside temperature. It failed in the cold. I ran the heater in the car for about an hour on max heat. Still no good. A few days later while walking by I pressed the door open button on the key ring and they worked , I jumped in and tried the directionals, high beam, running lights and power door locks. A few days later the outside temperature dropped and it stopped working. Today (milder weather) I tried it wasn't working. I turned on the heat to high and the heated seats and left running for an hour. When returning I found the intemittent wipers were running and so was everything else. This a safety issue. If you went out in the day and it got cold while parked and issue came back ,you would not have running lights, high beams, and no directional signals. I think there are other electrical components that also dont work. This has happened many times. I live in the northeast and the weather is now cold. Never know when this will happen. This happens typically when in the morning.
The airbag light acting weird for couple days and then went off complete, and they have a sound very clear on suspicion the front and the driver side , and the head lights the driver side always been disconnected they have power electric issue.
Airbag light came on when starting vehicle and won't go off.
Vehicle was parked in space at work. The engine turned off. Sometime, later, the interior lights, front and rear lights came on. A few second later, the alarm went off. This happened numerous times. Took to Honda dealership, thought the issue went away. The issues come back again.

I was driving on a busy 4 lane road at their set highway speed, right along with the rest of traffic. I had my 4 kids in my 2013 Honda Odyssey, which I trusted, when without warning, my van shut off. My key was still engaged. There was no warning light or sound. I did not run out of gas. My battery did not die. There was no slowing down, my check engine light did not come on. My car did not overheat. While driving normally, my engine suddenly cut, all my lights went out, my dash went black, and my wheel locked. I was barely able to get the car to go into the right lane and thankfully, my hazards still worked but the rest was dead. I had enough momentum to stay moving for a little while and I eventually got over into a small area beside the road. Somehow I wasn't hit by the many cars around me, including tractor trailers. All I did next was turn my van off, and then turn it back on and it started like nothing ever happened. I had a full diagnostic run at our local dealership and no one could find anything wrong with the vehicle. My car was in motion and driving normally. I needed to schedule a b1 service (oil change and tire rotation) soon but it was not due yet.

My complaint has to do with low tire pressure indicator and tire pressure (tpms) monitor. The experience we have since the vehicle was purchased is that if the former light appears and you replace the affected tire with a spare tire, the latter light (tpms) will appear it will disable the part. Once the spare is replace with a new tire, the former light comes back and stays on until the part is replaced. It has happened to us twice. Honda warranty does not cover the part or labor to replace it.

Low beam head lights are really low, making it hard to see at night. Researching online looks like many Honda owners are experiencing the same issue. High beams are fine, just low beams. There seems to be a recall on this issue, but not for my VIN #. Only issue is driving at night.

Takata recall my van was part of the recall and the fix was done but when it is humid outside then my srs light comes on and stays on. When we go down south to florida then the srs light comes on and stays on until we get into less humid weather. We are planning on moving back down south and we are worried that the airbags are not fixed right. Also the passenger headlamp goes out twice as fast as the drivers side. I have to replace the passenger side headlamp twice before I have to replace the drivers side.
Takata recall: I bought a used 2002 odessey with 200,000 miles on it. And after I got it home I noticed the srs light being on. I thought it is a simple loose connection. But after searching online, it seems to be a serious problem which needs urgent attention and fixing.
The contact owns a 2007 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the low beam lights intermediately failed. The vehicle was taken to a independent mechanic where the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 139,0000. The VIN was not available.

Honda is using soy product on wiring and it attracts squireels to eat my wires. The rodents ate the wires three times so far. While driving with children in car, my breaks did not work properly. I also had no windshield wipers or lights. It was raining. It was so scary. I have video of the squirrels underneath the hood.

The odometer dial is very difficult to see in bright conditions. This year they went to white letters on gray background. At 70 miles an hour, staring at the odometer to check one's speed is similar to reading text on a phone. I had contacted Honda a number of times to ask why we cannot adjust the lighting so the numbers when lit can be viewed more easily. There is a light detector built in that does not allow the dash lights to function during daylight. I have had several dangerous events occur due to drifting of the vehicle while taking my eyes off the road to try and read the dial. Why can't they fix it to allow use of dash lighting during daylight? it could be as simple as allowing the disabling of the day/night detector.
During rain at night, very little of the low beams reach the road way. The pattern of light from the projector type low beam is such that there is a bright line about 2 - 3 feet above the ground at 25 feet. Above that it sharply fades to almost nothing. Below that line, it gradually fades to darkness at ground level. At the factory setting, there could be more light higher up. The real issue is that very little light gets to the road. During rain, roadway center and side lines are not visible, however, reflective material about 1 foot off the ground is incredibly bright. Oi have taken the van to the dealer and they told me there is no solution. It is incredibly dangerous as there is insufficient light to illuminate roadway lane lines.
Seat failure - rear ended by Honda accord at approx. 40 mph while stopped on a 2-lane state highway to turn left . Foot off brake. Propelled forward about 3 car lengths. Massive failure of second row seat backs. Second row seat backs broke and reclined against 3rd row seats. Had there been passengers in the 3rd row, they would likely have sustained serious injuries. Front passenger seat twisted left. Other vehicle (Honda accord) had front driver-side airbag deployed and driver-side side air curtains deployed.
Low beams are not bright enough for driving. . Can't see see most or any sign clearly on dark highway and roads. Very unsafe and scary to drive at night.

My Odyssey was involved in a front collision at 45 miles per hour. T-boned another vehicle when they pulled out in front of the Odyssey. Neither front air bags deployed. I had just in the past few months had the air bags replaced due to the recall. My mother who was driving received neck, shoulder and back whiplash and a seat belt burn. The passenger in the other vehicle broke his hip and femur and went into surgery yesterday. Why did the airbags not deploy?.
