The seam seals on the rear driver's quarter panel of the vehicle are faulty and allowed water to flow into the cabin of the vehicle. The resulting damage was loss of function to the rear power lift gate, front seats, remote start and other key fob functions, as well as a dead battery(assumedly due to arcing on wet circuitry). The damage rendered the lift gate inoperable as I it initially closed but came open during operation. We continued to receive a power lift gae problem on the "heads up display" but the power gate would not open or close, electrically or manually. After a few days the gate opened but would not close, rendering the vehicle unsafe to operate. Furthermore, the battery was dead and would not start. Had this incicdent not occurred in our driveway we could have been susceptible to being stranded in sub-freezing temperatures with kids. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and they confirmed a roof leak was a cause of the water incursion. The power lift gate module and floor harness were damaged causing failures to lift gate operation and other electronics. It will cost $7000 to have it repaired at the local Honda dealer. Pending completion of repairs and paperwork for submission.

I was attempting to move the passenger side 2nd row seat forward so that my children could extricate themselves from the third row while we were stopped. The mechanism locked, and subsequently the seat back was unable to lock. This was a safety issue, and so I move my child to another seat. We took the vehicle to a dealership and we're informed that it was an issue with the lock for the recliner function and that it was damaged. Upon reviewing recall information, it was noted that there were recalls for 2016 Honda Odysseys with a reported similar issue of second row seats being unable to lock after releasing to allow access to the third row. (recall numbers 18v170000 and 16v933000). I was informed that my vehicle was not covered as the end of the recall ended with vehicles made two months prior to mine despite being the same year model. A seat not locking is a significant safety issue and I question if the above recalls need to extend to include more cars.

The third row seat latching mechanism will not lock the seat into place on the floor. We had a child who was sitting in the seat and the seat flipped backward. It is the left side seat in the third row. It appears the mechanism inside the seat that secures to the floorboard is missing or broke.
Left drivers side seat back does not lock on second row seat. This puts passengers at risk for injury. We are working to schedule an appointment with the dealer for inspection / fix. There are no warnings associated with this failure. We are unsure when the defect occurred, as our children typically sit in this seat.
The passenger side second row seat will not lock. It has been diagnosed by a Honda dealer that the seat back frame part number 81326-tk-a22 needs replaced. A recall has been made for the drivers side second row seat in bulletin 18-026. The part number is 81726-tk8-a22. It is the seat frame as well. Honda said they would assist me in paying 1/3 of the bill, but I was responsible for the remainder of the balance. But I see it that there was a seat frame issue with the drivers side second row seat and now I also have a seat frame malfunction on the passenger side second row. I believe they should cover the passenger side as well because of it being an important safety issue.
Dear NHTSA representative, I am writing to formally express my concern regarding the failure of Honda to notify me of a safety recall related to my vehicle, as required by 49 u. S. C. § 30119. As a current owner of the vehicle in question, I was never informed of the recall despite actively driving the car with my children, unknowingly putting our safety at risk. According to the law, manufacturers are obligated to obtain up-to-date owner information from state dmvs and notify all registered owners of safety defects or noncompliance issues. This lack of notification not only violates the legal requirements but also leaves me deeply concerned about how such an oversight occurred. As a consumer, I expect manufacturers to prioritize safety and follow mandated processes to ensure proper communication. I kindly request that you: investigate why I was not notified of the recall in accordance with federal law. Take appropriate action to ensure no other current owners face similar risks. Provide a formal response outlining the steps being taken to resolve this issue. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I trust that you will treat this situation with the seriousness it warrants and look forward to hearing back from you promptly. Sincerely, [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] VIN: [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Car was parked at home. Entered car to get something, noticed car smelled of faint smoke. Didn't think much of it. Next day when I went into the car noticed a large burn hole in passenger side seat.
While breaking, rear driver’s side passenger seat disengaged. Our 8 year old son was in seat with seat belt on. Upon breaking the seat propelled him forward. His face hit drivers seat and he was lacerated and concussed. Not only did the seat locking mechanism fail, but seat belt lock did not engage or prevent him from being flung. Brought vehicle to dealership same day as incident. They claim to have attempted to recreate incident, but used an adult male (instead of a 50lb “dummy”). Because they couldn’t recreate the unlocking of seat or explain failure of seatbelt to restrain, was told nothing is wrong and they attempted to “close the case” with nothing fixed, replaced or explained.

The seats gave me to second-degree burns and are reaching temps of 120 in the hot spots.
Have a 2006 Honda Odyssey. The third row seat on the right side will not latch reliably to the floor. Sitting on the seat and/or accelerating causes the seat and passenger to flip backwards. The seat latch is on a swinging panel and is too far forward to meet the floor mounted hoop. There doesn't appear to be any way to adjust the latch position.

Water keeps leaking in the trunk. Everytime it rains there is a puddle in the trunk. This has happened well over 15 times and american Honda has not acknowledged this being as recall. This issue has been all over the forum and reddit as well. I am not the first one that has faced this issue.
Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving at 40 mph, he depressed the brake pedal and the second rear passenger seat disengaged as the passenger went forward colliding with the rear of the front seat. The contact stated that the passenger sustained a bloody nose which required no medical attention. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnosis or repairs. The manufacturer was not contacted. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA campaign number: 16v9333000 (seats) and 18v170000 (seats), however his vehicle was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was 131,500. Dl.

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the second-row seat on the passenger's side failed to latch securely. Stockton 12 Honda (10860 s auto mall dr, sandy, ut 84070, (801) 981-4920) was contacted and informed the contact that the passenger's seat was not under recall. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was inspected but, not repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 16v933000 (seats) and 17v725000 (seats) as possible solutions to the failure however, the VIN was not available to confirm information. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
I have an issue with a second row seat not latching properly and sliding while driving, but when I check my VIN it doesn't show any recalls or repairs needed. I know this is an issue with the Honda Odyssey. The seat has started to become harder to slide forward to gain access to kids in the third row when trying to get out of the van.
The metal bracket that is riveted to the front driver seat securing it to the frame snapped. The bottom of the seat is loose and in a collision the seat would not hold the driver in a fixed position.

From the last 5-6 months (not exactly when I realized but probably around may 2020 I'm feeling that the driver side seat gets heated automatically while driving continuously more than 10 miles (as its equipped with the heated seat feature) even though the switch is off. This is really strange as without truing the heated seat into hi/low position it shouldn't heat the seat. It feels very unsafe if we go on a long drive. Note: I didn't checked the passenger side seat if that behaves in the same way.

While driving, I was intermittently using the seat warmers (toggling between the high, low, and off settings. ) upon exiting the vehicle, the back of my legs felt very sore and irritated. The next morning, it was evident I had second degree burns, which was confirmed 2 days later by a medical professional, who treated me for the burns.
Bracket holding seat to body of vehicle snapped. Appears to be manufactured incorrectly. Failure occurred while driving down the road causing the seat to suddenly jerk and fall.
Purchased 2012 Honda Odyssey with 49k miles, looked like new inside and out, dealership prepped vehicle, including new tires, a few minor repairs were needed, requested everything be gone over, vehicle safety was a priority. I gave them an additional month to order parts and to take their time to make sure all was completed properly. Discovered the new all season tires were really dedicated michelin winter tires as I am driving all summer, highway interstate. They didn't replace the corroded, leaking tpms senor/valve stems, they left the original ones in. While on an out of state trip, the pressure warning light came on. Also discovered the(2) safety latch recalls from Honda were still open as I am driving my kids and other students in our van. The dealership salesman ensured me all would be taken care of as he had children himself. He was sending the vehicle to a Honda dealership for the key cylinder replacement. Turns out the vehicle had 3 open recalls. Non repaired and they assured me they had been fixed. They marketed the van as a local trade in, later to find out the dealership purchased the van at an out of state auction. I had to put new all season tires on and replaced the leaking tpms units, they refused to acknowledge the issues as I had repairs completed at a Honda dealership and Subaru reimbursed me for the small repairs, but refused to acknowledge the tires or tpms units, dismissing additional questions. There is no love or safety at this Subaru dealership . All documentation has been filed with the ohio attorney general complaint. A big question is about the vehicles history from an auction and what else has been covered up and not disclosed.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the second row driver's side seat would no longer latch into the forward position, which caused the back support to become loose. The vehicle was taken to gwinnett place Honda (3325 satellite blvd, duluth, GA 30096, 678-534-2208) where it was diagnosed that the frame was damaged. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 09804235. The manufacturer stated that they would provide goodwill assistance for the repair; however, the contact would have to pay a small fee. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000.
When I got into the car, I had just started the car up and there were warning lights for the blind spot information system not working; other things that weren't working were the heated seats or the rear climate controls. Later that day, the backup camera screen was black. This is unacceptable for my 2018 touring that is almost 50k!.
***2018 Honda Odyssey caught fire while operational**** on 24th April 2019, on her way to drop our kid to school, my wife was driving our 2018 Honda Odyssey. All of a sudden, this vehicle got smoke at first and then caught fire while it was operational. My wife pulled over and took the kid out immediately. The passing by garbage truck driver started to control fire till cops and firemen team arrived. The fire was controlled by excellent efforts of that cop/truck driver. The fire appeared to have started near 3rd row driver side seat. . . My 3 year old was on the driver side 2nd row seat---just 1. 5ft away from it. Luckily, my wife and child were not hurt. I've been following up with geico insurance, us Honda (case# 09517538) rigorously. I am really inclined to know what went wrong with the vehicle that virtually threatened the lives of my wife and child. I am still awaiting response from them. One of my friends suggested me to report this incident to ntsb and they redirected me to NHTSA. My intent is to ensure that the root cause of this mishap can be identified and rectified ASAP by us Honda as these Honda Odysseys are driven mostly by families with kids. I was under an impression from these followups that this incident has been reported to appropriate federal/state authorities. I just want to make sure that NHTSA help me in my quest to understand what really went wrong.
While driving on a city street, a car pulled out in front of me so I had to quickly hit my breaks to avoid a car accident with the other car but in the process the 2nd row passenger seat that is directly behind the driver seat automatically flipped down then flew forward ramming the back of my seat and my back very hard. Luckily my son was sitting on the opposite side of the van and was not sitting in that seat. But the seat kept slamming back and forth into my back until I could safely pull over to latch the seat back into place. I have tried calling my local Honda dealership to see about having my seats checked out because I've been scared to drive my vehicle after the incident but they told me they cannot help me. Only to find out that there is not just one but two recalls on the 2nd passenger row of my Honda Odyssey. So I called the dealership back with the new information on the recalls, but I was told they do not have the parts to fix the issues with my seats. I do not know what to do now. This is my only vehicle but my lower back has been hurting ever since the incident happened but im worried if I keep driving the vehicle and the seat should unlock again then it could seriously injure me/my back even more or worse cause me to wreck.
~tl the contact owns a 2016 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the walk-in release lever to the second row outboard seat would not remain in the lock position. The contact had to manually lock the seat in order for it to remain in position. The vehicle was taken to Honda of santa maria (2175 s bradley rd, santa maria, CA 93455), but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall. The faiilure mileage was approximately 56,442. Parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Keep getting notice about 2nd row seat fix. As I have a hdcp ramp van there is no 2nd row seat. Have advised Honda numerous times.
The second row outboard seats come unsecured from the floor of the vehicle. This continues to happen after Honda performed its most recent recall repair. A four year old 38 lb. Child kicked the second row passenger seat back. The seat came dislodged from the floor hooks/anchors. See attached photos. The car was stationary when this happened.
Need a recall to be issued by NHTSA or proper gov organization. The passenger seat belt tensioner and the buckle were replaced after the srs light was illuminated. Now the driver-side buckle and seat belt tensioner is causing a problem and srs light is on again. Honda is using delay tactics. Want to scan the car for $100 to re-confirm the same problem even though the car was scanned in the prior week! srs light stays on after engine start (obviously stationary).
