Windshield Problems of Honda Odyssey

Tl the contact owns a 2012 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the front driver's side windshield was cracked at the top of the windshield. The contact stated that an unknown dealer was contacted however, referred the contact to a third party to get the windshield replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

Tl the contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the windshield was cracked twice within the last two weeks. The dealer (Honda superstore of lisle, 4475 Lincoln Ave, lisle, IL 60532, (630) 852-7200) replaced the windshield the first time, but it was not covered under the extended warranty. The contact went to speak to the dealer upon the second windshield crack, but they would not acknowledge the possibility of defective glass or cover the windshield repair. The manufacturer was contacted and sided with the dealer. The contact was referred back to the dealer. The failure mileage was 4,500.

Traveling on the highway, one rock hit the windshield of my 2010, Honda Odyssey. The star crack was about the size of a penny. I contacted my insurance company who sent out safelite to repair the windshield. Safelite inspected and said the windshield could be repaired and then determined that the windshield would need to be replaced. The car is less than 3 years old, has less than 20k miles, was struck by 1, small rock and the windshield needs to be replaced. This is my third Honda, all of them have been struck by rocks, none of the others experienced any damage.

New 2011 Honda Odyssey touring model had a snowflake like crack the size of a half-dollar in passenger side top corner of windshield. Crack was in the center of the glass and could not be felt from the inside or outside. Windshield was replaced by Honda dealer two times and each time the windshield starts to crack after a few days of driving. Each time the installation was performed by a different vendor. Local Honda dealer has come into contact with three similar issues with the 2011 model. The latest crack found is about 8 inches long over the passenger side about 12 inches from the top of the windshield.

The contact owns a 2007 Honda Odyssey. He stated that while he was driving 45 mph an object hit the windshield and the passenger side was completely shattered. There were no injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed, however the windshield was replaced. Neither the dealer or the manufacturer were contacted. The VIN was unavailable. The failure and current mileages were 30,000.

Windshield wind noises. . Noises started 7 months and 9900 miles after possession of vehicle. Starting hearing whistling noise when drive vehicle @ low speeds on windy days. Took vehicle into the shop and they replaced both moldings and adjusted fender. Took vehicle back into the shop a month later with same problem. They preformed bulletin #04-078. Drove vehicle additional 2000 miles and wind noise started again. This time I had other dealership in town try to fix windshield. Picked up vehicle and drove it out of town and rt. Windshield moldings came loose. Pulled over and noticed that dealership had scratched and dented fender and windshield post. Pulled back the loose and flapping moldings and noticed that they had shoved a red shop towel in the fender/windshield area to stop the noise. * this proper procedures in the repair manuel** shoving red shop rags in the fenders to stop wind noise?? what to do now - fender and windshield post and quarter needs to be repainted - I now have lost value on vehicle because vehicle will be painted and windshield molding is held on by duck tape. --fyi, windshield moldings are only held in with double sided tape clips - double sided tape will only hold for a couple of years, before they deter ate and they will need to be replaced. . Factory did not think of the longevity of the windshield moldings. Many, many more people will continuously have problems with wind noise.

Defective windshield. Windshield has waves throughout causing visual impairment while driving. Waves are very prominent on the passanger side, but less of an issue being that they are on the opposite side. One prominent wave through driver's side causes headaches and dizziness due to optical effect. Taken in to dealership who acknowledges the problem. However, they refused a replacement saying that they are all defective, so there would be no improvement.

The piece on either side of the windshield to get the water to go off the top of the van instead of the side windows, is bad. My dealer said that the maker knew about the problem. There has been no remedy yet. Due to the bad pieces, the windshield whistles once you hit 45 mph or higher. I am taking it in now for the third time to see what they can do about it. In addition to being distracting while driving, I am concerned about my resale value when the time comes, if a prospective owner test drives it and hears that sound. Very frustrated and can't find on the internet any other complaints about this problem. The service dept said that they have had others with my van that complained about the same issue, so I am concerned about why it hasn't been addressed on a broader scale by the company.

At baseball game ball hit his windshield on passenger side. Windshield shattered into millions of pieces that went all over the car. The contact feels the glass is not safety glass.

While driving through baton rouge enroute to new orleans, there was a major exploding sound and my passenger side window completely shattered in my lap. We were on the interstate and there were no cars immediately in front of or on the side of our car. We did not see any flying depree or rocks. A truck driver who was behind us did not see any rocks or anything either , he was as shocked as we were. What I would like to know is if Honda has replaced many side windows and if anyone else has had this experience. I know if a rock hits a window, it usually shatters in place, but this window exploded in my face and lap.

Consumer stated the windshield is made of some material other than glass, which has caused consumers vision to be obstructed by the scratches.

Sliding door window has shattered and is completely cracked. Dealership has not examined vehicle to determine a reason for shattering. . *note: approximately in June 1999, rear windshield shattered and was replaced. Reason given for that defect was excessive heat. Vehicle was eventually examined by local dealership and was repaired under warranty.

Husband tapped windowshield from the inside of car to kill small bug and windshield cracked on the outside. Windshield is indented on the outside. The inside has no cracks or marks. Husband and I could not remember any objects hitting the windshield during a recent trip. Talked to dealer about posssible defeat. Dealer has not returned calls. Very concerned about tapping windshield or the possibility of objects hitting the windshield.

There is a loud wind/vibration noise from front left side around windshield and or driver's door. Noise is constant when driving on open highways. We have returned it to the dealer twice. First time the dealer adjusted drivers door (which was out of spec according to dealer). Second time, replaced rubber molding/insulation on drivers door which was defective. After both visits, the noise continues to be a problem during highway driving. When the noise appears you can feel a vibration in the interior molding on the left side of the windshield.

Other problems have included loose gasket at front windshield, sticking left passenger sliding door, squeaky brakes (not yet resolved) and pulling to right hand side of road.

Left sliding door not locking, unlocking, or opening properly. Dealer tried to fix twice now and still broken. Door locks and unlocks itself while in motion. It pops, clicks, and buzzes at random. Right sliding door opens while in motion. Dealer tried to fix once and still broken. A/c makes tremendous "thunking" noise-clutch engaging improperly. Dealer tried to fix twice-told me"could not duplicate" still broken. Left & right front windows both had bad parts. Left still waiting on parts to be put in. Seatbelt in middle, left rear locked so tightly while van in motion that I was trapped. It would not release even while van was not braking, turning, etc. Doors are main safety concern and dealer not able to correct problems and zone office #6 unwilling to return my phone calls regarding this important matter.

While driving on the freeway passenger 's side door window exploded without reason. Dealer has not seen vehicle.

While loading vehicle with groceries, and upon shutting rear cargo door, glass shattered and broke into little pieces. Please provide any further information.
