I was sold a car with an active recall, that came out on 7/28. I purchased the car on 8/13 and had no idea about the recall. . . I am extremely upset that I was sold an unsafe vehicle and for a recall that could affect the safety of my wife and children.

38 Wiper problem of the 2006 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 06/30/2020

When driving there is a very noticeable blurriness in the windshield. Seems like a defect in the glass. It's like wearing glasses that are way to strong for what you need and makes driving blurry. I am asking for a new windshield as this one is a defect.

40 Wiper problem of the 2005 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 10/10/2019

Failure of high beam, running lights, directional signals, power door looks, intemittent wipers. Failed safety inspection. Mechanic worked all day could find the problem. I drove it home. A couple of days later it was working. I brought it back to get a inspection sticker. All good. Worked for about a week then stopped working. I realilized the only difference was that outside temperature. It failed in the cold. I ran the heater in the car for about an hour on max heat. Still no good. A few days later while walking by I pressed the door open button on the key ring and they worked , I jumped in and tried the directionals, high beam, running lights and power door locks. A few days later the outside temperature dropped and it stopped working. Today (milder weather) I tried it wasn't working. I turned on the heat to high and the heated seats and left running for an hour. When returning I found the intemittent wipers were running and so was everything else. This a safety issue. If you went out in the day and it got cold while parked and issue came back ,you would not have running lights, high beams, and no directional signals. I think there are other electrical components that also dont work. This has happened many times. I live in the northeast and the weather is now cold. Never know when this will happen. This happens typically when in the morning.

41 Wiper problem of the 2019 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 10/01/2019

In multiple vehicles after contacting the dealer and looking at two vehicles it appears as though the rear glass has not been manufactured correctly as there are obscurities in the glass and those obscurities create a blurry patch to the right and the left of center at the edges of the glass. If you can see it's faintly like a corduroy effect in between the layers of glass. A manager at from sunset Honda in san luis obispo has seen the defects noticed it and other vehicles but declined to do anything since it was the same in two vehicles. I stated that that doesn't prohibited from being a defect in the manufacturing he agreed that there was blurry vision and that he could see the lines that I'm speaking of.

45 Wiper problem of the 2014 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 06/10/2019

Rear window exploded when drivers door shut with no unusual force -- just shutting the door as normal. The this happened at about 8am. The car was parked/stationary. The shattering left a hole about the size of a bowling ball behind the driver's side. Glass flew everywhere; luckily my children were not in the back seat at the time. Interior and exterior air temps were not extreme. There was no evidence of anything that hit the window. Several people were around at the time and nobody saw anything unusual.

46 Wiper problem of the 2018 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 04/24/2019

Van was parked inside a garage with no damage. Walked into the garage hours later and noticed the drivers rear quarter panel window cracking and breaking apart on its own. Glass breakage pattern appears to be spontaneous window failure possibly due to manufacturing defect. May cause safety hazard if I were driving the vehicle with kids in the rear seat and it gave way then.

47 Wiper problem of the 2014 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 04/11/2019

While driving my 2014 Honda Odyssey, I heard a loud bang, and when I reached my destination, saw a bow tie shaped hole in the middle of my moonroof. When I heard the noise, I was driving about 40 mph in a local street in start stop traffic during the morning commute. Temperatures were mild, and there were no large vehicles or flying debris around that I noticed that may have caused the hole. I am getting it repaired immediately for safety reasons around my family, and was quoted about $900 for parts and labor.

48 Wiper problem of the 2010 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 04/04/2019

I was driving (in motion) with my wife and 5 children on a straight, smooth stretch (no curves or lane changes) of eastbound I-84 near burley/rupert, idaho. There was a light drizzle, temp of ~60 f, and no other vehicles within 300 feet front, side, or rear. All windows of the vehicle were closed, and interior temp of the vehicle was ~68 f. We heard a very loud, scary sound -- like a shotgun or as if we had driven under a huge waterfall. I looked around and saw no obvious issues, then looked up and opened the closed sliding sunroof cover. I found the sunroof had shattered, which scared me even more, and promptly closed the cover to prevent glass from falling on me, my wife, or my 1 and 3 y/o daughters who were seated in the second row. We stopped at the first available rest area to assess the damage and take photographs. As we drove, we heard glass continue to break off and both slide from the car roof onto the road surface, as well as toward the rear of the vehicle between the roof and headliner.

49 Wiper problem of the 2017 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 02/11/2019

So recently my 2017 Honda crv has a crack in the very lower bottom of the windshield. It was 23 degrees. I was driving home 35 miles per hour, no vehicles around and it began cracking. I have owned crv's all my life. I saw online where this is happening quite frequently and for no reason. I contacted you guys and was told the windshield is 1700. 00. There is no chip in the crack it just started spreading, which to me means there is a flaw in the design. I contacted your service dept. And spoke with randy who is the advisor. He told me quite rudely , to contact Honda customer service. I asked for the number, which any decent corporation will provide off hand and he told me it is located in the front of my owners manual.

50 Wiper problem of the 2018 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 02/10/2019

On the us 2018 Honda Odyssey model, there is no low windshield washer fluid warning. This is a major safety issue as I found this out on a sloppy, salty wisconsin interstate next to a semi with my wife and kids in the vehicle. Salt on a windshield gives you zero visibility without washer fluid, and luckily I was able to exit the interstate and make it to a gas station to fill with washer fluid without incident. My 2000 explorer and 2010 rav4 have low washer fluid warning lights. With the 1000s of dollars of active and passive safety features built into the Odyssey, consumers expect the inexpensive simple things like a low washer fluid warning. This should be subject to recall.

51 Wiper problem of the 2016 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 06/22/2018

The back windshield exploded for no reason. The car was parked and not struck by any objects. Police investigated and first pointed out that it looks like it exploded outward, from the inside rather than being hit. Two holes where glass fell outside the vehicle, but it is clearly bowing outward.

52 Wiper problem of the 2011 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 04/09/2018

Low beam head lights are really low, making it hard to see at night. Researching online looks like many Honda owners are experiencing the same issue. High beams are fine, just low beams. There seems to be a recall on this issue, but not for my VIN #. Only issue is driving at night.

53 Wiper problem of the 2018 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 03/27/2018

My backup camera does not function or cannot be viewed due to error messages, system freezing, camera errors which is unsafe. The radio is effected and the hvac controls, too. This happens randomly while driving, when starting the car as well. I have rear windows that will not roll up, which is unsafe. Wipers also do not function correctly. They wipe too slow or too fast and cannot be controlled, which is unsafe. These conditions have happened since vehicle was new and continue to happen. Honda does not have a fix for this.

54 Wiper problem of the 2009 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 03/12/2018

Started vehicle in driveway Monday 3/12/17, outside temp approximately with rain. Turned on wipers, front and rear. Turned on defrost front and rear. Immediately rear hatch window shattered, glass all fell into rear compartment behind 3rd row seats. Had not even yet put vehicle into gear to back up. Vehicle had not been moved at all. Had used wipers previously with no issues. There was nothing to indicate any problems with the rear glass before it spontaneously shattered. Photos were taken next day after having pulled vehicle into garage overnight to keep from water damage.

55 Wiper problem of the 2018 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 03/03/2018

If I buy a new 2018 Honda Odyssey at around 4000 miles start having transmission problems at around five to six thousand miles I start getting a horrible toxic burning chemical smell coming from inside the car somewhere do you take it to the dealership they say nothing's wrong obviously there is something wrong with his doing what it's doing.

56 Wiper problem of the 2018 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 02/06/2018

The front window washer will not dispense fluid when the weather is cold. Dealership said fluid freezes in the bottle, but that's not true because back nozzle works. Front nozzles work if van left in garage overnight. This morning, after 15 min of driving in 10 degrees, front nozzles do not dispense. Honda dealership shrugged when I said it's a safety issue. Dry snow, salt, ice, mud thrown on windshield when driving, and no way to effectively clear it off. Washer fluid was filled by dealership one week ago. Dispenser bottle is 95% full. The issue is somewhere between dispenser bottle and front nozzles. This first happened yesterday evening when I was driving home in the dark (about 10 degrees out). Windshield was dangerously dirty by the time I got home.

57 Wiper problem of the 2011 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 10/07/2017

Sunroof of our Odyssey exploded while driving on highway. I took the car to the dealership and we saw that glass was bowed out. Serviceman at the dealership said this looks to have occurred from pressure inside the vehicle. We had no cargo and nothing was touching the sunroof. Luckily kids were not in the vehicle at the time and vehicle was in control, but this is dangerous and could cause injury.

58 Wiper problem of the 2012 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 09/16/2017

I was washing the windshield on the passenger side. I lifted up the w/s wiper element superstructure and the wiper arm dislodged and smacked and cracked the windshield upon impact. The wipers (both sides) operated normally and we had just returned from a very rainy vacation. There were no signs of any abnormal operations nor installations. I believe wiper superstructures are supposed to stay installed onto the wiper arms until certain procedures are completed to disassemble, one of which should not be lifting up from the windshield to aid cleaning. The vehicle was in our driveway getting washed.

59 Wiper problem of the 2012 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 09/13/2017

The window molding/trim in our van has started deteriorating on both sides of the windows. It is highly unusally for this to happen, despite the age of the vehicial. Please check the photos.

60 Wiper problem of the 2014 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 12/16/2016

Moon roof glass exploded while on smoothly paved highway. No apparent cause. No other vehicles were nearby to throw a rock. Explosion was loud. Shattered glass fell on driver and passenger - at 70 mph [speed limit].

61 Wiper problem of the 2016 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 10/19/2016

A lot of noise.

62 Wiper problem of the 2013 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 10/04/2016

While I was driving on the highway going 65 mph the car in front was going slow so I decided to high beam them so they move over to the right lane but they didn't so I went around them and they swerve to my right lane. So I slow down and when I had the chance to pass them they were recording my car/myself. After I passed them they came in front of us and threw something out the window and now I got a scratch on the car. When they threw something I decided to go next to thwre car her passenger which look like it was her son was the one who threw it out the window.

63 Wiper problem of the 2015 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 08/17/2016

Honda is using soy product on wiring and it attracts squireels to eat my wires. The rodents ate the wires three times so far. While driving with children in car, my breaks did not work properly. I also had no windshield wipers or lights. It was raining. It was so scary. I have video of the squirrels underneath the hood.

64 Wiper problem of the 2014 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 03/09/2016

Headlights work very poorly. - difficult to see the road when driving at night. When driving at night, it is difficult to see the road when using the low beams. High beams help, but switching back and forth when in traffic is not a safe, or legal, option. The low beam pattern appears to be set too low, particularly on the driver side, and can not be adjusted. Headlights are projector lamp style, so even replacement of bulbs do little to correct, as the primary issue seems to be a poor design. This issue has been ongoing since purchase of new vehicle.

65 Wiper problem of the 2015 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 12/01/2015

While parked, when starting the vehicle, the headlights and windshield wipers will not come on. After about an hour, they come back on. Happened twice so far. Only 9000 miles on the vehicle. The dealer says they have never heard of this. Can't find the cause of the problem.

66 Wiper problem of the 1995 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 09/06/2015

We turned on the ignition to warm the engine a bit at about 9:50 on the morning of Sunday, August 6, 2015. After a couple of minutes, the passenger-side airbag completely exploded. The car was not in motion, it was parked, so there was no reason for the airbag to deploy. We suppose that it must be defective. The sheer force of the airbag deployment resulted in a large, circular crack on the windshield, with smaller hairline fractures. Fragments of black plastic were propelled throughout the interior of the vehicle. A strong smell of burning plastic ensued and filled the interior of the car. We will not drive the vehicle until it has been properly inspected, as we fear that the driver's side airbag might also be defective. Unfortunately, the Honda dealership our insurance company directed us to will not be open until Tuesday, September 8 due to the labor day holiday. This was a very frightening situation. Thankfully, we were not driving at the time of the incident, and so nobody suffered personal injury - but this airbag malfunction might well have caused wounds from the flying materials and shards of plastic, an automobile accident - perhaps with multiple people involved - or severe injury, possibly even death. Though we feel grateful to have avoided the worst, we are still without a vehicle due to a mechanical defect not caused by us.

67 Wiper problem of the 2015 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 06/28/2015

We were driving down a main road speed approx 45mph, it was 90-94 degrees out so ac was on and it was a severe rain storm. We had just left the highway and were on a main road highly traveled. We noticed it was warm in the car and the ac was blowing hot. All the sudden it was fogging the windows on the inside. We had to pull over to the shoulder in the middle of a storm because we could not see and with the defroster on it was fogging the window worse. We had our 2 children in the back of the van who were scared out of their wits we would be rear ended during the storm. We managed to find a towel wipe the window and pull into a tire/oil change place up the road. They checked the car and said due to the rain the ac condensor stopped working and we had an electrical issue they could not fix. We would need the dealer in the morning. When we woke in the am the van had dried and the ac worked again we returned home and took to our local dealer with an appt 07/03/15 who advised us since it works now their is nothing we can do. We live in a state that rains daily and are afraid to drive the car in the rain now. Dealer states it is not covered under lemon law as it was not life threatening, lack of visibilty to us is life threatening. Please look into this.

68 Wiper problem of the 2011 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 02/22/2015

Altough there is a recal (r72) for the Honda Odyssey 2011 for wipers disconnecting from motor. Honda refuses to fix my issue as they say it doesn't fall within the affected batch. The symptom is exactly the same. They are now charging me $30 for the part and $220 with installation. This happened exactly as the description of the recall. They refuse to accept its their issue.

69 Wiper problem of the 2012 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 08/12/2014

The contact owns a 2012 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the front windshield was shattering. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic , who replaced the windshield. In addition, the contact stated that while opening the front passenger side window open, it exploded. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 28,000.

70 Wiper problem of the 2005 Honda Odyssey

Failure Date: 05/13/2014

I went out to unlock my van and it wouldn't unlock. Thought the battery in key fob was dead. Found out that the delay wiper setting, rear wiper, high beam lights, turning signals. Door locks, washer fluid, outside temp display, warning lights, like the seat belt and the one that tells you that you left your keys in the egnition, are not working. Have checked all fuses. Need help please.
