1 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2020 Honda Passport

Failure Date: 07/14/2020

On July 14 2020 a flying object went under my car while I was driving on highway i73 (close to gate city blvd greensboro nc). The object gashed the side of the fuel tank causing fuel leak!the plastic tank is close to the manifold which could of caused fire or explosion of the vehicle!the fuel tank is shielded from the bottom but it's not shielded from the driver side under the vehicle!I think it's a mistake and it's a serious fire hazard bc it's very exposed to any road debris or random small objects which can harm the thin tank side!the chassis and the suspension design is also allowing debris to trap and wedge between the fuel tank and the driver side suspension parts!I strongly think bc the design the side of the tank needs to be shielded!specially on a car which is sold us ruggedand off-road capable!.

2 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2020 Honda Passport

Failure Date: 06/12/2020

New vehicle running in highway with just 570 miles (and 3 weeks) started to leak fuel under the fuel tank very fast. Fire department found hole in the fuel tank. Holler Honda dealer found same. I didn't see or feel any contact with another object. It looks for me plastic fuel tank is defective, or it is too thin or exposed to be broken and fire damage it is highly probably with normal use in roads. We feel insafe in this vehicle with this defective fuel tank or the bad location or tank design is risky . .

3 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2000 Honda Passport

Failure Date: 06/02/2014

Just read web info on fuel gage not reading correctly after gas tank is about half full on Honda Passports. My vehicle's fuel gage moves significantly on turns and at times check engine light comes when tank is about gas 1/2 full. This just started happening when the vehicle had approx 87k miles on it. When gas tanked is topped off - usually around 8-10 gals - everything starts working fine again. Heard Honda may have announced a recalled this for Honda Passports but up to year model1999. But given the same symptom and just started happening on my year 2000 vehicle . . Thinking all years should be included. I have not talked to dealer yet. Honda maintains a great reputation and should offer an expanded recall. Given the age, the vehicle is like new and otherwise runs fantastic and I have low milage on the vehicle. Would imagine the same parts used in 1999 Passports (fuel sending unit/lever) is same in the year 2000. Thank you for further research and information to Honda Passport owners.

4 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 1999 Honda Passport

Failure Date: 12/29/2010

Noticed that fuel gauge is not working properly because it went empty even though I have a tank full of gas. I did some internet research and found out that this is related to a defective 'fuel sending unit'. It affects Honda Passports and isuzu rodeo vehicles . My SUV Honda Passport fuel gauge is not working due to bad float chamber on the pump component has manufacturing defects. My fuel gauge has started fluctuating wildly. The most common thing though, is that it reads out of gas shortly after a fill up. This is the same model as an isuzu rodeo and the problems are duplicated there. I want to make sure a recall happens and that it covers the Hondas as well.
