1 Brake Disc Caliper problem of the 2005 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 02/22/2020

While driving straight at 40 mph my right front brake locked up. We changed the brake caliper thinking it was the problem. It did not fix the problem. Looking online it seems to be an issue with the 2005 Honda Pilot. I searched and called Honda and my local dealer. They said there weren't any recalls or safety bulletins.

2 Brake Disc Caliper problem of the 2019 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 05/22/2019

Rear breaks is self activating when vehicle is stationary or in park or at stop light and when you apply the accelerator or start to drive you can hear it release with some noise in the rear and it continues to grid the pads as if the break calipers have not fully released from the rear rotors. The noise is also very noticeable as the vehicle moves at a lower speed below 25mph.

3 Brake Disc Caliper problem of the 2012 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 07/06/2016

Rear brake pads rusted solidly to calipers. Inoperative. Front brakes pads rusted but still operating. Only 23,000 miles on vehicle. A loud screeching noise alerted me to a problem as I backed out of my garage. Took vehicle to mechanic who test drove car and knew what problem was. He took off all 4 wheels ,pried pads loose from calipers, sanded off rust, lubed and reinstalled parts. He informed me that I needed new calipers, pads and hardware. I called dealer and was told that being out of warranty, that they could do nothing for me. I then called Honda motor CO. I was told that vehicle was out of warranty and they could do nothing for me. To me,this seemed a safety issue more than a warranty issue.

4 Brake Disc Caliper problem of the 2006 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 10/17/2012

I am writing because my 2006 Honda Pilot is trying to stop faster than I am pressing the brake pedal. This seems to be the braking system trying to stop as if I was slamming on my brakes instead of a controlled stop at a red light or stop sign. The motion of the braking feels as though the brake caliper is pushing on the brakes to hard.

5 Brake Disc Caliper problem of the 2005 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 09/24/2012

This problem began earlier in 2012 and was investigated by the dealer in June. While driving at various speeds (45-75mph), the vsa system engages, locking one wheel for a second or two, and pulling the steering wheel as if in a skid. When this stops, the vsa light is on as well as a yellow triangle with an exclamation point. When the dealer 'fixed' this in June, they repaired a tpms sensor. They also found a brake caliper stuck and fixed that as well as replaced the brake pads. Since June the issue has not occurred until yesterday. It has happened at 3 times in the past 2 days, all at @ 45 mph. This seems to be a widely reported issue and is certainly a safety concern. When this happened in June on the interstate, traffic on both sides of me dropped back because they could tell I lost control of the car.

6 Brake Disc Caliper problem of the 2005 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 12/31/2004

Stopping iregularity at highway speeds. Very unsafe feeling from a drivers perspective! non-solid feeling break peddle plus a tendacy to not stop in a straight line. Front break pads or caliper system have made a very detectable (from inside the Pilot with the windows up) snap / clack noise when engaging breaks during faster than normal stops from hightway speeds, more than on one occasion - (replacing the break pads with new ones seems to help / keep them new / thiick). .

7 Brake Disc Caliper problem of the 2003 Honda Pilot

Failure Date: 03/14/2004

Loud "clank" noise from brake calipers the first time brakes are applied after changing direction (forward to reverse or reverse to forward). This has happened since new; the dealer service rep states "they all do that", and said he was surprised Honda had not come up with some kind of fix because they were getting a lot of complaints about the very disconcerting noise.
