3 Brake Electric Antilock problem of the 2000 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 12/04/2001

While traveling approximately 8 mph in a parking lotvehicle lost power and would not accelerate. Vehicle had to be pushed into a parking space only to find the brake system was not functioning. Dealership has examined vehicle and determined that transaxle assembly had failed and caused this problem. Please provide any additional information / documentation.

4 Brake Electric Antilock problem of the 2002 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 11/29/2001

A "clunking" noise was coming from the rear of the vehicle during application of brakes. Dealership examined vehicle and determined brake drums were not rounded and had to be replaced. Four days later, vehicle was involved in a crash when brake pedal went to the floor before brake system activated. Crash occurred on December 5, 2001 when vehicle rear-ended a stopped car while traveling approximately 15 to 20 mph.

5 Brake Electric Antilock problem of the 2000 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 07/27/2000

Was driving approximately 35mph & started to apply brakes. Had no brakes & rearended another vehicle at stop light. Upon impact with other vehicle, air bags failed to deploy. Also, pretensioner in the seat belts failed to restrain driver whose head hit windshield. Driver was hospitalized.

6 Brake Electric Antilock problem of the 1998 Hyundai Accent

Failure Date: 03/10/1998

The consumer has been experiencing problems with anti-lock brakes. Vehicle makes a loud squealing sound when the brakes are applied. The manufacturer yet to be contacted.
