The horn has been replaced on 4 separate occasions through Hyundai under warranty and it can not be fixed. This seems to be a wide spread issues involving the 2023 and 2024 Hyundai Elantra models and there are multiple TSB's at the dealerships. Hyundai has not done a recall or come up with a fix and it renders the horn useless and can cause a major safety problem or accident.

November 2023: purchase vehicle. September 2, 2024: driving on highway 50-55mph in right lane. No one/nothing in front of me. Clear day. Vehicle collision alert starts beeping, vehicle abruptly brakes and steers itself into the left lane. I feared for my life and also for the person who was behind me. September 16-17, 2024: drop off vehicle at dealership for oil change. Notfd service advisor of Sep 2 incident, requested investigation. Was told I'd have to pay for diagnostics and they would likely not find anything wrong. I was also told in summary: "nothing seemed wrong, incident could have been a glitch, we can talk about turning off the entire safety feature. " -- I felt completely dismissed. Since early 2024 (shortly after purchasing): • vehicle randomly disables all safety features while I am driving. Yellow icons appear on my dash, and dinging noises keep alerting. This happens almost daily! I showed photos and videos to a second dealership, and sent them to Hyundai corporate (Dec 2024). No one has made any resolution for this. • noticing moisture build-up in window crevices. Rear windows have rolled down while vehicle was parked overnight on several occasions. November/December 2024: • vehicle making high pitch whistling noise. Problem diagnosed as cracked heater console. Sealed/repaired twice, in two different spots. Why wouldn't they just replace it?! • horn not working. I was unaware until dealership tested it. • rear doors barely opening. This is a serious safety hazard. People need to be able to get out (and in). Brought vehicle in, was told they "lubed it up", yet the doors are not opening fully again as of December 2024-January 2025. December 2024: • contacted corporate to file complaint. Since I filed in December 2024, which is 13 months after purchasing vehicle, I was told I don't qualify for illinois lemon law buyback option. One month too late?! dangerous and annoying problems, and I'm stuck dealing with this? my vehicle is a death trap!.

One day I noticed that my steering wheel was loose and it was making a clicking noise. One another occasion, while I was driving, my vehicle I noticed that all of a sudden the airbag light came on. I thought that it was a minor electrical malfunction (because my flat tire light has been on for years and I never know when I really have a flat), so I ignored it until I went to use my horn to alert an approaching vehicle of my presence, and it didn't work. It hasn't worked properly since. If I use my keys to lock the door it will beep, but if I attempt to use the horn itself I get nothing.

Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that while driving at 60 mph, the check engine warning light started to flicker, and the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The mechanic was unable to provide a prognosis as to the failure. The spark plugs were replaced and the engine oil and filter changed however, the failure recurred. South bay Hyundai, 20433 hawthorne blvd, torrance, CA 90503, (310) 974-8180, was contacted and notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted or informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 125,659. Ah.

Our cruise control (cc) switches on the steering have stopped working! the behavior was un-predicable and dangerous for while when hitting cancel button would "engage" the cc. This is a serious safety issue since it could cause accidents. I believe this is due to the poor design on the connector that connects the wires from the cc switches to the steering case. The connector is placed right under the horn cover and we believe the connector gets squeezed every time the horn is used. I tested this myself and was able to get the cc to work after lifting the horn covers forward section which reduced the pressure from the connector right underneath it ! when I did this, hitting the cc. Once again this is a serious safety issue cause drivers could assume they are disabling the cc, when they could actually be activating cc which will cause accidents.

Car would not start. After multiple attempts at turning key, it finally started. Lights and horn functioned properly, but I replaced the battery anyway. Car would still not start on first few attempts. Engine would not turn over at all, then after several attempts at turning key, it would start, as if nothing was wrong. Brought it to dealer, they said they cleaned out some parts of the engine and updated the computer. The next day I had the same problem again. Brought it to the dealer, and they said they changed some fuses. Less than a week later, still the same problem. There are multiple incidents of this happening for other owners of this car which I found online when I was looking to diagnose the problem.
2012 Hyundai Elantra limited. The airbag warning light appeared randomly at first then remained on constantly. Over time, functionality of all steering wheel mounted controls for cruise control, trip computer, bluetooth, audio system, and horn were lost. I disassembled the steering column to access and remove the air bag clockspring. I tested the connections for continuity with a handheld meter and found none on any terminal. The clock spring failed.

There is a problem with the horn of the 2008 Hyundai Elantra. It cuts off and does not work for hours, days etc. It works at odd times and then not at all. I've taken it to the dealer where they say it's fine.
