The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that the vehicle was not equipped with a spare tire or a jack. No spare tire, jack, or lug wrench was supplied with this car. Apparently several other manufacturers are doing the same, ostensibly to save on weight and achieve a higher mpg rating. This automobile was sold to my 21 year old daughter who had a blowout. Had she been in a dangerous situation it could easily have resulted in assault and/or death from a crime of opportunity. I have filed a complaint with the consumer protection agency and with Hyundai. Please stop automobile manufacturers from practicing this potentially criminally negligent sales practice immediately. The jack collapsed, and center stem fell over and punctured the fuel tank while in use.

The jack that comes with the vehicle is poorly designed. It is small and too weak to support the vehicle, while being used it collapsed. Dealer has been contacted.
