When driving there’s a feature that flashes across the screen saying consider taking a break and makes noise. This happens especially during inclement weather and is an incredible distraction that I cannot disable.

I was pulling into a parking spot, moving very slowly, and the car suddenly accelerated. I’m not sure if it was the brakes only because I was slowed down and preparing to stop. I was lucky that I only went into a pvc fence and no one was injured. There was no indication of any sort of a possible problem. No one looked at it because I had no idea that that could be done, and I wouldn’t know where to go.

Horn does not work.
The car keeps lagging on acceleration I had the throttle body checked and cleaned and they said it was fine I have been doing all maintenance required by manufacturer, but sometimes is lacking on the power loses acceleration, I see these model has a recall but when I entered my VIN number doesn't show up so I am concerned why is not covered as it could lead to my car been stalled in the middle of the highway, dealer wants 300 dollars just to take it in and usually they can't reproduce the issue , what should I do in this case, I dont want to wait until I have an accident for this to be checked thank you.

Vehicle’s sunroof glass spontaneously exploded while driving. No rock or other foreign object impacted it. Interior shade below glass was closed at the time of the incident. Loud pop heard. Glass appeared blown up and out from explosion. Vehicle was a rental vehicle owned by enterprise car rental.
This dealership refuses to work on recalls on weekends, even though they are open for repairs on saturdays. They are prioritizing paying customers. This is the second recall I've had this issue with them. Tasca central Ave Hyundai 111 south central avenue, hartsdale NY 10530.

The engine bay of my car caught fire due to the abs pump and module not turning off. I bought a part but never opened the box because I received a piece of mail stating the recall of that exact issue that they would replace all parts damaged. Which they didn't just installed their relay after Hyundai recall 188 was completed, my abs pump failed. I believe it was caused by continuous power being applied post-shutdown — the exact defect the recall was meant to fix. The dealer performed an inspection but misrepresented the results and refuses to replace the damaged component under recall. This abs pump failure is a direct result of the original recall condition — or a failed installation of the relay fix — which continued to keep power applied to the pump while the vehicle was off. This is the exact scenario the recall was intended to prevent. If the failure is caused by that condition, Hyundai is still responsible under recall. The facility which did the recall falsely recorded the mileage on my vehicle as to void any "warranty" associated with the recall as the car hasn't been driven since the module was replaced. I also instructed the diagnosis team of wesley chapel Hyundai to keep my battery unplugged due to the parasitical drain in order to protect the battery from being dead celled and now I have to replace the battery as well. They also illegally opened a mailed box I had in my car with a part I bought prior to the recall being mailed out which I never took out of the box nor did I open the box and it was fully sealed which is a federal crime. I opened a case in which Hyundai denied helping with this faulty service and are refusing to provide me documents case no. 41355389.

This is for a paint problem that my car has lost its paint within six months. My car is peeling off very fast and there was a class action lawsuit. And now a new one has started. I see nobody at your office wants to help people.

Has not yet been officially diagnosed by a dealer or independent service center, but while turning into a neighborhood at around 15-25 mph the car jerked and the engine suddenly stalled while I was still in the middle of the road. Thankfully I rolled into the neighborhood before an oncoming car made its way over, but it was close. The gas pedal no longer worked, and I had to restart the car. It only drove once more before shutting down and the engine will no longer turn over.
When driving at low speeds(20mph and under) vehicle stalls. It appears to happen at random. It makes driving pretty dangerous for other vehicles that would not be able to tell the vehicle has stalled and hit me at low speeds. All electrics stay on, there is no check engine light. The problem first appeared after ignition lock was broken, even before replaced it started stalls at low speeds, seems to possibly happen more after engine is warmed up.
Unknown.

Driver attention warning system. It is often incorrect, and extremely annoying, and distracting. It can not be shut off. It does not understand that wind, and potholes cause somewhat erratic driving habits, coupled with overly sensitive steering systems. Issue occurred on the maine turnpike, at legal speeds, and persisted for the entire journey from gray to houlton. Approximately every five minutes, I would get an alert.
I was driving and I felt my car sputter and lunge forward slightly. Then my car lost power and when I pressed down on the accelerator it would not give out any power. The battery light came on and the car would not start after pulling over.

I’m writing as a concerned consumer to flag a serious flaw in current vehicle VIN labeling standards. Specifically, the use of tamper-evident paper VIN stickers on body panels (such as rear doors) is unnecessarily fragile, outdated, and punitive — with no warning or protection for normal car owners. I recently purchased a 2024 vehicle and accidentally peeled part of a VIN sticker located on the rear door jamb while cleaning the interior. There was no visible warning on the label, no digital alert, and no indication that this sticker had legal or resale significance. After researching, I learned that this small, unprotected sticker can: •invalidate certified pre-owned (cpo) eligibility •flag the car during future inspections, even if there’s zero damage •require a complicated and expensive ($100–$300) process to replace •create suspicion over a vehicle’s history despite clean title and ownership this is unacceptable in 2025. We are in an era of digital keys, over-the-air updates, and software-based identity systems — and yet a fragile, unmarked paper sticker can still materially harm a consumer’s vehicle value. My ask: please consider updating fmvss 115 or 567 to allow for: •laser-etched, permanent VIN identifiers on all major body panels •digital VIN linking through ecu or oem ownership systems •elimination or redundancy of peel-sensitive stickers that have no protection or warning a normal consumer performing normal maintenance or cleaning should not be able to accidentally reduce the value of their car or disqualify it from certification. I urge you to take this issue seriously and consider this as part of ongoing vehicle identification modernization efforts.

Horn stopped working at at around 30,000 miles. After taking it to the dealership to get fixed it stopped working at 70,000 miles again.

The issue involves the hybrid electric powertrain or electrical control system in my 2023 Hyundai Elantra limited hybrid. The vehicle has shut off multiple times while driving, with complete loss of power and propulsion. This poses a serious safety risk, as it happens without warning in the middle of the road. Restarting the car requires shifting into park and trying multiple times to turn it off, but the vacuole turns back on the first try. I have experienced this issue several times, including twice during a 300-mile highway trip. After each shutdown, the dashboard displays multiple warning lights, including the check engine light, battery light, oil pressure light, and hybrid system warning (orange car icon). I took a photo immediately after the most recent failure to document these warnings. The vehicle has been inspected three times by two different Hyundai dealerships. Both confirmed the vehicle is under warranty but have not repaired or diagnosed the issue, citing that they cannot replicate it. They have driven it ~200 miles without success. However, they have not pulled ecu data or freeze-frame codes, even though warning lights were active at the time of failure. There are no symptoms or warning messages before the failure — the vehicle shuts off suddenly. The car is available for inspection, and I am in the process of opening a formal case with Hyundai. This is a significant and recurring safety hazard that must be addressed. This issue has an occurred a various speeds including during acceleration and braking. The picture attached is the dashboard after the I indent has occurred and have shifted to park after stopping to try and restart the car to get out of the middle of the road.
I had a trunk latch recall done on my car in June 2024. Immediately after that, my trunk stopped opening with the key fob. The latch would click but not release. A few weeks ago, it started doing the same thing with the release lever by the driver's side. There was no way to get the trunk open, so I went to a different Hyundai dealership than where my recall was done at (due to travel costs from school). They had to replace the trunk latch because the recall latch was installed incorrectly. It was an almost $700 expense.
The traction contril indicator is always light is always showing up on the dashboard at the night time till morning since a couple of months so far.
Coil 1 & 4 misfire. Won’t accelerate well & engine light blinks. Car will stall then die when engine light blinks too much in 1 minute.
I have had a fire risk warning safety recall on my car for 1. 5 years and there is no remedy for it. This puts my safety at risk daily, as well as everyone around me.

The horn stopped working in our 2024 Elantra. This is a widespread issue (see NHTSA complaints and reddit posts). I called ahead to verify with the san leandro dealership that parts were in stock to perform this repair under warranty (prior to scheduling appointment). We arrived and were told that parts were actually not available (after a 3-hour diagnostic). What changed? Hyundai issued a TSB (technical service bulletin) informing dealerships of how this issue is to be repaired (designating a specific part number, while excluding otherwise qualified Hyundai parts). Without TSB, the dealership could have performed this repair under warranty with the in-stock parts. The dealership could still perform the repair, but Hyundai would not reimburse them under warranty. With a[xxx] wife, I was unable to wait and return later for the warranty to cover the repair. I paid $429 to the dealership for the repair to be done with in-stock parts. I left the dealership with a genuine & working Hyundai horn, but it was not covered by Hyundai’s warranty. Hyundai has refused to reimburse us. Two key takeaways: 1 - Hyundai is denying there is a widespread issue while secretly telling dealerships how to address it. The unpublished TSB demonstrates that Hyundai is aware of a widespread safety issue, and is failing to issue a recall. The majority of nhsta complaints for this vehicle reference horn failure. This is a safety issue. I was involved in an accident where I could not warn another driver before the collision. 2 - the TSB is a mechanism by which Hyundai is refusing to perform repairs that should be covered by warranty. This is a violation of Hyundai’s stated commitment to customers that is not stated even in the fine print of the warranty. For the past 2 years, the car shuts off while driving. There is no warning lights or other warning that it is going to shut off. The steering doesn't lock but the car shuts off. I have to come to a stop and then restart the car. It does restart every time. This seems to happen frequently and then doesn't do it for a few weeks. I have had it looked at by 4 different mechanics, had multiple sensors replaces, replaced coil packs, and the problem still continues. The Hyundai dealer looked at it one time and said they do not know what is wrong.
Car makes loud beeping and says "consider taking a break" even when staying in lane and obeying all traffic rules. Severely distracting while driving and no way to turn it off.
Door lock actuator on rear driver's side door not working. Door stuck closed, even though power to lock is present and locking / unlocking mechanism works. Door will not open from inside or outside.
When I am driving with my seatbelt on for no reason at all my seatbelt comes undone doesn't happen all the time but several times it has happened to me. And then there is something wrong with the transmission. Doesn't shift right away so it like jerks or lunges when it finally goes into gear. I have noticed both of these problems since 2/28/2025.

The 2022 Hyundai Elantra hybrid blue intermittently displays check hybrid system stop safety in instrument cluster screen, which stops the car from driving in either Smart or normal. This happens on the roads and highways. This is very unsafe because at high speed when this happens you could easily get rear-ended because the car drops its speed and cannot accelerate any faster than 30 miles per hour and then it degrades to 20 miles per hour until I can find a safe place to park and turn off the car to do the reset to be able to drive again. This happens because the 12-volt lithium battery is not providing an acceptable amount of charge to the hybrid battery. This was also confirmed when I took the battery to get tested and it failed the test. The next part that is unsafe, is replacing the low 12-volt lithium battery, because it is connected to a high voltage 240-volt lithium-ion polymer battery; there a normal person cannot simply replace it. You have to know electronics to make sure you do not get electrocuted. In addition, it takes hours to take out the battery and then it’s hard to find to purchase. I feel Hyundai makes this process difficult as after spending hours to screw it out, you cannot locate the item anywhere. When I spoke to the Hyundai parts person, they could not locate it until I actually brought in the battery. The 12-volt lithium battery was nonrefundable and cost twice as much ($545. 92) as I saw online, as low as $282 once I obtain the part number from the Hyundai order, which again is nonrefundable. I feel they make sure this cannot be found to force you to come to them to buy the battery, because all the labels or characters on the battery were not able to locatable. This was proven by me emailing the battery images to the parts person who was trying to find it, but could not until I bring in the actual battery. I was also told it is a special order and that they do not keep them onsite and have to be ordered and wait 7 to 10 days(pdf attach).
Unknown I had the lane assist feature on and was taking the second lane from right to turn off to exit when the alarm went off, the wheel turned itself and it started braking. There was nothing where it was trying to avoid and actually almost had me run into another by turning me left back onto the freeway while trying to stop. It’s never happened to me before and I take that way regularly.
As I was driving about 25-30 mph when the front drivers side lower control arm snapped, resulting in loss of control and steering, which could’ve caused a major accident if driven on a highway/interstate at a higher rate of speed. The damage revealed the control arm had rotted from the inside and had broken from the bushing connected to the frame, with no indication of rust in the outside, which has been something that has documented with other same generation Hyundais. I have not been able to bring it to a dealer or mechanic to have it checked.

My trunk latch hasn’t worked since January. I took it in to mccarthy olathe Hyundai in olathe, KS on January 13th for an appointment but they didn’t have the parts available so we rescheduled. When the parts were in, my fiancé took it back on February 18th, 2025 but was told that the repair couldn’t be done since there was previous trunk damage. I explained via the telephone that the damage to my truck was minor from an incident two years prior and that it hasn’t caused any issues with opening or shutting the trunk since. But the gentleman I talked to reiterated that the recall repair to my trunk latch couldn’t be done. I recently found out that the recall was marked as completed when it was not. I don’t know what to do!.
Unknown, stalls randomly after driving for about 10 minutes.
