1 Oil Pump problem of the 2011 Hyundai Elantra

Failure Date: 03/05/2019

Engine ticking at idle and acceleration. Had lifters replaced and oil pump costing $1500. Engine continued with ticking noise. Brought it to my local Hyundai dealership which is 2. 5 hours away. They told me I needed a new motor. Hyundai has declined the request related to mileage and time. Really. This vehicle only has 79,000 miles on it. Hyundai currently has a class action lawsuit related to the ticking noise. Hyundai knows that the engines are faulty but refuse to put out a recall. How can you let Hyundai continue to resell these cars. This is basically fraud. Hyundai Elantras from 2011-2016 with the 1. 8l engine are the ones affected. Hyundai doesn't stand behind their product. I have never heard of a motor going with only 79,000 miles on it. Someone needs to do something to make Hyundai accountable for their faulty products. Take the vehicles with the 1. 8l off the market.

2 Oil Pump problem of the 2014 Hyundai Elantra

Failure Date: 01/31/2018

In Jan 2018 while driving my car a notice a knocking noise. I brought my car in for an oil change and ask about the noise they had told me that it maybe my oil pump. Never had any stalling problems as others had reported but did have a few times that it seemed like it did not want to shift until I let off the gas pedal. Brought car to dealer ship(rowe, auburn,me) to have it checked as it was still under the power train warranty. Left it there on Feb 5, 2018. They called me later that morning and told me that my engine needed to be replaced. Internal problem. Not sure what that means. So I asked if this was going to be covered 100% as it was still under warranty they said yes. So they put me in a loaner car. Checked back in at the end of the month and was told my engine was on national back order until possible may 2018. So here it is may 14, 2018 and still have not heard when I'll get my car back.

3 Oil Pump problem of the 2013 Hyundai Elantra

Failure Date: 03/11/2017

I bought a 2013 Hyundai Elantra limited new. 3 years later the car stalls out when stopped and it difficult to start. Have taken the car to the dealership so many times (10) within a 2 month period, I use the loaner more than my own car. The last time I picked it up they had changed out the timing cover with oil pump, cam shaft and timing chain. Called me to come pick my vehicle up as it was ready. When exiting the dealership, I came to the stop light and the car stalled once again with it being difficult to start. Turned around and the vehicle would not drive faster than 20 mph. The service manager came out and asked what was wrong. I asked him to get in the vehicle that they had just fixed. He drove it and they now have my car once again and I'm driving the loaner. They can't seem to find out what the problem is and say they keep calling the manufacturer for input. Apparently no one knows what is wrong and I will not buy another Hyundai as it seems they can't repair their vehicles with these similar problems.
