Internal transmission failure.
While driving on the highway, my vehicle experienced a cvt transmission failure. The vehicles tachometer started oscillating slightly, jumping up and down. The next symptoms was the car at times felt like it had a bucking/jerking sensation. The tachometer suddenly jumped up to around 5000 rpm. The car immediately lost power while traveling on the highway, dangerously almost causing an accident with the car behind me almost hitting/rear ending me from behind with this sudden unexpected loss of power and speed. The car slowed down and I found I could now not drive any faster than about 20 miles/hr. As I pushed down on the gas pedal, the tachometer just increased in rpm, with no transfer of power to the drive wheels. The car was purchased brand new in November 2020 and it now has 3700 miles on it. I have a video of the event happening as I started videoing when the car did not feel right.

On June 4,2020, my 2020 Hyundai Elantra's transmission failed. This car had only 8,000 miles on it. I was on highways, city streets, and the car would stall at lights and not accelerate. The drivers behind me did not know that when the light changed, my car may or may not move. The transmission completely failed that day, and Hyundai is not taking responsibility for the danger they put me in. I was not safe in that vehicle. The transmission was replaced, but I still could have died or been severely injured that day. Hyundai sussman in willow grove has all the details. When I arrived to the dealer that day, after stalling repeatedly on the road, they could not even start the vehicle. I called two Hyundai dealers asking for help. One told me it was safe to drive and the other dealer would not answer their phone.
When putting the car in park on a incline the transmission fails to hold the car resulting in the car rolling away while unoccupied, I put my 2010 Elantra in park got out of it to get something from the back sseat, the car was on an incline at the time in my driveway. As I reached to open the rear driver side door I hear a loud bang and then I had about a second to look around and then the transmission made a repetitve banging and clicking sound as the car started rolling backwards. I had to open the front driver door and hop in the car while it was moving so I could hit the brake pedal to stop the car. After this I went to a local Hyundai dealer and talked to them about the issue the told me they have seen this before and had to replace transmissions in the cars affected. I bought mine from a used car lot about ten days ago I am taking it back and they are going to attempt to fix the car, however I would like a recall issed so I can take this car to get the problem fixed so I know for sure this is not going to happpen again. . As of right now I have to use the emergency brake to hold the car to be sure its not going to roll away when no one is there to stop it. . This is very unsafe and a google search will confirm that this is an issue with these cars years 2007 till 2010. I can go outside right now and garantee if and stress is created by parking on a slight incline the car will roll away in park. . I showed the dealer that I got the car from this yesterday and it did this 2 out of 3 times that I put the car in park on a slight hill. . . . . Thank you for your time.

Transmission fails every 35,000 to 45,000 miles. Replaced twice under 90,000 miles. Starts as the car hesitates to shift or does not shift for a few minutes. This happens on city streets and highways.
Highly frustrating and potentially life threatening situation Hyundai has put me in. On September 11th my vehicle caught on fire in the rear by the exhaust pipe. Prior to this my vehicle had been at rick case Hyundai 3 times with me complaining the transmission was not working properly the 1st time I was told there are no codes so we have to wait till it breaks, the 2nd time I was told no codes sorry, and the third time they actually replaced a broken part that controls the shift times in the transmission. Could show them my problem. I asked Hyundai corporate to do an investigation into the transmission and the fire and help me resolve this issue. They went through their 6 week process and then denied my claim saying it wasn't found to be a malfunction of any parts that caused the fire. I have video of where the fire started, the transmission not working, and countless pictures that show the fire obviously started at the tailpipe due to an increase in temperature because of the transmission failure. When I ask Hyundai for the information that lead to their conclusion they say it's confidential and proprietary and will not let me see it. When I tell them the transmission is still not working and everytime I drive it there is a burning smell and I'm scared for my safety and life driving this car they just say Hyundais decision is final and they won't honor my warranty on the car. They claim it's perfectly safe to drive and operating as intended and designed. I feel they are covering somethings up or never actually investigated this incident which is why they won't release information. During the fire malfunctions in the head shield and taillight wiring were discovered making for 4 possible life threatening defects my car was parked at work in my parking space when the smoke and fire started.
