I was driving on [xxx] in florida when it started raining heavily, I turned on my wipers when all of a sudden my drivers side wiper stopped working. My passenger side worked fine. My driver side wiper was recalled and "fixed" Nov 9,2023. Not even a year later it is not working again. This is something that is completely dangerous, not being able to us my wipers while driving when needed is horrible. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Back seat window glass (both sides) are cloudy/foggy to such a degree that it obscures visibility, especially in direct sunlight. While backing out of driveway, could not see a child on bicycle and nearly hit him. He yelled out loud enough that I slammed on my brakes. Have had similar incidents when backing out of parking spaces and turning corners. Dealership replaced driver side with new glass about 10 days ago but new glass is just has defective as original glass. Refer to attached photos. The cloudiness is not as evident in low light conditions. First noticed it a few days after purchasing the vehicle new in August of 2022 but thought it would clear up on its own. Incident with boy on bicycle occurred on 8/21/24. Obviously this is a defect in the glass manufacturing and is an unsafe and dangerous condition. No one at dealerships seem to take it seriously.

Front passenger and both captain chairs seatbelts will unlatch on their own. Windshield wipers when on automatic setting will turn on with no precipitation on windshield. Generally when the steering is turned slightly left. Both issues have happened multiple times over the past 4 years of ownership.

Driving in heavy rain, wipers quit. No snow, no ice, just heavy rain. This creates a potential for a fatal incident. Approximately 5 to 10 minutes after quitting and upon turning wipers off and back on, wipers reset and begin to work again.
We have had the car towed twice to and from the dealer to fix the problem and they are telling us the parts are on back order and they cant fix the car but they put in in the system that it has been fixed. This is colorado spring time the weather can do anything here this time of year the car is not safe to drive but the dealer told my wife they will not give her a loaner car so she is being forest to drive a unsafe car.
I had the driver-side wiper replaced in November 2023 due to a recall and have had an issue 3x since then. Twice, snow had accumulated under the wiper arm while driving and caused the wiper motor to stop. That is the exact reason for the recall but it continues to happen regardless. Then the other night while driving 70 on a freeway in heavy rain with wipers on full speed, the driver wiper started hitting the left edge of the windshield a few swipes, slowed down for a few swipes, then stopped completely in the lower position. Had to get off at the next exit as all attempts wouldn't get them working again. Two days later I was able to get into the dealership for a quick "tightening of the bolt" to get the wipers functioning again. The dealership said they knew exactly what the problem was due to so many people having this issue with needing the bolt tightened because it must have worked its way loose. The motor must be too weak and the replacement wiper arm has not remedied the occurrence, leading to some very hazardous situations.
The dealership is refusing to fix NHTSA recall number23v180000 on our vehicle and offered a solution to me in 2026.
Rear passenger windows are hazy.
This past weekend my family and I were driving in wet snowy weather in colorado. We had the wipers set to the "auto" position and everything seemed to be working. While driving I stepped on the brake and snow from the top of the vehicle slid down onto the windshield. All of a sudden the wipers stopped working. They were stuck halfway on the windshield. I tried to turn them off and on but nothing worked. Luckily I was able to safely pull off the side of the road. I cleared the snow from the windshield and then the wipers worked again. About an hour later I was driving on the freeway in snowy weather and the same thing happened again. The wipers suddenly stopped working. However, this time I was in heavy traffic and there was no safe place to pull off the interstate. I was able to look through a small area on top of the windshield and drove about another mile and half before I could find an exit to pull over. I cleaned the snow from the windshield but the wipers still did not work. I then opened the hood of the vehicle and continued to clear snow from below the windshield wiper arms. Finally the wipers began to work again. This is a huge safety issue. I could have easily been in an accident because of not being able to see forward. And if I were to stop suddenly, someone could have easily ran into the rear of our vehicle. The next business day I contacted my local dealership and informed him of the incident. I also informed him that there was a previous recall on the windshield wiper arm on this vehicle that I had replaced in July 2023. He indicated that the recall had nothing to do with the wipers not working in snowy weather and that I was welcome to bring the vehicle in to have the wipers inspected. I did that that same day. They inspected the wipers and informed me that the bolts holding the wiper arms were tight and that the wipers were working normally. There was no warning lights or other symptoms prior to this incident.
Windshield cracks under normal highway driving condition. Smaller rocks coming onto windshield are expected under highway driving conditions. Of all the 9 vehicles that I have owned previously none had this issue but with Hyundai Palisade the glass cracked very easily. I have small cracks on my windshield at multiple places and it appears that Hyundai has installed a thin windshield or a windshield not suited for highways in USA. Could NHTSA please investigate this?.
The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated while driving 55 mph, the windshield wipers stopped operating as needed. The contact believed that the failure was associated with NHTSA campaign number: 23v180000 (visibility/wiper) which was repaired in 2023. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that an unknown part was a design flaw. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 15,000.
There was a recall for a wiper issue spring 2023 that was for an issue of the wipers not working during snow. It did happen before it was fixed. Yesterday was the first real snow and it happened again while driving they stopped working.
Windshield wiper turns on when it is not raining even though it is on off and mist sensor is on off.
Windshield developed a 30 in crack without hitting anything on the road. Other owners report a similar problem on a facebook group.

To date, the windshield has cracked and required replacement three times. This has happened in August 2023, sept 2024 & may 2025. The first instance was caused by a small chip resulting from a visible impact. However, the subsequent two replacements occurred without any known cause or visible damage, suggesting a potential defect in the windshield's design or material integrity. This ongoing problem is not only inconvenient and costly, but also raises serious safety concerns. Windshields should not crack spontaneously under normal driving conditions. Is it the quality of the windshield or is this issue part of a larger defect affecting this vehicle model?.
2nd row driver and passenger windows are hazy with acoustic glass.
On 7/23 my family experience a very horrific event. While traveling on a road at approximately 35 mph our rear passenger window exploded. The explosion was unexpected and dangerously unsafe. There was debri of broken glass all over our bodies , hair, clothing and inside our vehicle. Luckily our family was not injured. Since then our family has really questioned the safety of your vehicles after learning that this type of event is happening to other Hyundai Palisade owners. I created a case and have not heard back from anyone nor any dealership cannot provide assistance in my area. My kids and family are afraid to get into a vehicle we thought was safe but apparently is not. I need someone to call me and I need to stop being transferred over and over to different customer service reps and need Hyundai to take responsibility for our loss family time, appointments and mental insecurities caused by this explosion.
Sunroof randomly shattered driving down the highway. I had the interior sunshade cover open, and glass went all in the inside of the SUV. Thankfully, nobody was harm but it was super scary. It sounded like a gunshot when it happened. I see that Hyundai doesn't cover this expense, and I had to go through my insurance company to make a claim. This should definitely be looked at. This is happening to a lot of other people. You would think this situation would be a recall matter, but apparently it's not.
Recalls not being done! I am writing to complain about the inadequate and unsatisfactory service I received from the temecula Hyundai service department on several occasions. The last one crossed the line and is a cause of concern; a huge safety and liability issue. On July 20, 2023 I brought my vehicle in for the driver wiper recall. I was told it was done and it reflected on my profile. After repeated incidents at this location I decided to get my vehicle serviced at a different location. On November 16, 2023, I dropped my vehicle off for the electric oil pump recall where they also suggested to address the windshield wiper. I told them that had been taken care of at the temecula dealership but they proceeded to show me that while they logged the work in the system, the job was never completed; my Palisade still has the old wiper part that was to be replaced. I wonder if this is standard practice at the temecula shop? that’s extremely concerning as it poses a safety risk if recalls aren’t being properly addressed. I find what happened to be unacceptable and a huge safety and liability concern. I request from you to address this issue the best way possible. I hope that you will be able to find a satisfactory solution very fast.
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 22v633000 (trailer hitches) and 23v180000 (visibility/wiper) however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
This is in reference to Hyundai recall number: 243, NHTSA recall number: 23v-180 took my Hyundai to dealership on 3 different occasions for the intermittent wiper not working properly. It activates indiscriminately on clear sunny days and doesn't react to rain hitting the windshield. Three different times I took to dealership for this same problem including the safety recall. The problem still exists. It is a safety hazard on rainy days in florida.
The rear passenger windows have a cloudy / hazy look to them, making it difficult to see out at certain times. This is a known defect on the 2023 Palisade models. This defect is between the glass panels. It is not a film tint.
1) back end of the vehicle sways, bounces at any speed when going over slightest bump. Driving with failing shocks or struts has a direct impact on your ability to control vehicle. Research indicates known issue with 2020-2021 Hyundai Palisades - tsb22-ss-001h issued for part of the problem but no recall. Hyundai clearly knows about it but not issuing needed recall because it is a warranty item, hoping customers don't realize it until out of warranty. Mine still in warranty, 48k miles. Rear- self leveling shocks appear to be the issue along with upper insulator piece. . Read more...
I was driving in a downpour today at approximately 11:30 am at 40mph when the driver side wiper stopped working. This is a verified recall issue which was repaired on February 28, 2023. I was able to pull over safely into a parking lot until the weather calmed and then was able to very carefully drive home on side roads.
Rear door windows, not clear, gray, especially in sunlight and causes visibility and safety issues, Hyundai at this point is not planning on doing anything to resolve this issue. I picked up the vehicle on an overcast day and rain. Didn’t notice this issue or I would not have purchased it.
The car started very slightly making a clunking noise and it progressively got worse. We've taken it for every scheduled maintenance and didn't know anything was wrong. We asked for it to be specifically checked at our recent oil change and were told it is a unfortunate common issue that Hyundai is aware of but the warranty ended on that about 6 months ago - something that should've been addressed and resolved, they waited until out of warranty and didn't do anything and now the fix is $1700 (rear struts need to be replaced) car jumps and it will get even worse. Also the wipers turn on when there is no rain but don't turn on when it rains the sensors are messed up.
Forward sunroof exploded out without any impact. Wife driving car on state highway which caused panic, also glass landed in kids carseats. Problem has not been reproduced or looked at by dealer, trying to make appointment to have it inspected. No inspection at this point. No warning lamps or other indications that the sunroof was going to fail.
Driver activated defrost in the rain. Exterior temperature was about 70 degrees fahrenheit. Crack occured on the windshield. No impact by road debris. It was an edge crack. Occured due to improper installation of the windshield, which seems to be a common issue in the Palisade of all years.
When I use the windshield washer, the cabin is filled with fumes from the washer fluid. I have been sickened by the fumes with headache and taste of the fumes. It enters the cabin of the vehicle via the ventilation system. The dealer has thoroughly checked the ventilation system and has found nothing wrong. This is a design issue with the vehicle. The washer/ ventilation issue was addressed with the 2023 model. I was told by Hyundai consumer affairs division there is nothing that can be done to resole my issue other than manually switching the ventilation by pressing the recirculation button before using the windshield washer. Hyundai consumer affairs case#: 21145978. Others in the vehicle can smell the odor, but most are less sensitive to the fumes.
After a snow fall wiper worked one time and then stopped working with just a little snow on window. Had to stop the vehicle turn it off and turn it back on to get wipers to work.
I bought hd Palisade 2022 SUV on Jan 2022 at koeppel Hyundai dealer locating lic NY. Suddenly, radiator fluid is leaking from left and right corner as of Mar 18,2023 and couldn't run long distance because of this. I am a uber driver for over 7 years in nyc. This is first happened during my driving for 40 years. I called dealer and they gave mw 1 weeks waiting time for check up and no idea even they have part or not. If they don't have it, I have to wait 1month (from my friend who bought same car and same month and same dealer). Is other way to repair this matter ASAP ? as a driver, I make ends meet by weekly basis.
My car would not accelerate when the gas pedal was pushed. It was in snow mode and we had to switch modes to make it go. My wipers also stopped working when snow and ice collected at the base. We had to remove all of the snow and ice before they would work. It was actively snowing and this was a a real safety issue.
While driving in snowy conditions my windshield wipers failed to work. They were working and then about 15 minutes in to my drive they stopped working. I had to pull off the side of the interstate with semi trucks flying by to pick the compacted snow out. It did not work and I slowly and very carefully had to continue until I was able to make it home and they were able to thaw.
Reverse and 360 degree camera system stopped working at 818 miles, 1-1/2 months. Unable to utilize safety features the camera system provides (e. G. , items in rear of vehicle when backing up, items at sides and front of vehicle when going forward.
At just over a year old, I have experienced a cracked windshield. I believe this was caused by a small pebble hitting the windshield but I do not believe that should have caused a cracked windshield on such a relatively new car.
