39 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 03/20/2017

Takata recall very low quality of material used for the rubber hose that connects the coolant . My Santa Fe's rubber hose deteriorated which caused a leak. Without any warnings or changes in the temp gauge, I drove the car normally until one morning I was on the parkway and each time I would accelerate the engine would have a hard time, it felt like I am dragging. Finally got to my destination half an hr later and the engine overheated. Drove it next block over to a gas station popped the trunk open and the coolant was completely empty even though I just topped it off few days ago. Turned off my car to run in and get a bottle of coolant. Tried starting the car and it stalled. I waited about an hr and a half at the parking lot sitting and waiting and it finally started back up. Electrical issue: a couple of days ago, I was driving in my 2014 Santa Fe sport and the radio suddenly shut off thinking I pressed a button by accident. After a couple of minutes it turned back on. It was randomly doing it until two days ago it finally stopped working. I made an appointment with a Hyundai service agent. Vehicle at 40,000 miles apprarently it is not under warranty (36,000mi) ofcourse, for them to diagnose the problem they charge you about $140 after tax just to diagnose it. How much to fix the radio? agent said, "it will be about $1700 but since the lease is up I can put you in a brand new tucson and I will fix the radio free of charge and credit you back for the diagnostics charge". I walked out of the dealership. And airbag light keeps coming on pas side.

Failure Date: 02/10/2017

Air bag light stays illuminated on dashboard and does not go off. Code read 1490b which is the occupancy sensor. Apparently the 2007 and 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe has been recalled for same problem but not the 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe yet. Dealership in lacrosse wisconsin said they would have to order a whole. New seat at a cost of $2000. Vehicle has never been in an accident. Hyundai should have to fix for free. This must be a manufacturer defect. Unsafe to drive as now I don't know if my airbag will deploy if I'm am in an accident. Is it possible this model year might also be recalled. Sounds like same problem as previous years. A $2000 repair is ridiculous!.

Takata recall about may 2016 airbag dash light and passenger airbag light malfunction, dash light stays on, passenger airbag light does not recognize passenger. Took vehicle to dealership on 8/18/16, and was diagnosed that "problem due to a makeup bag wedged under passenger seat causing poor contact at connectors. " within 4 days, airbag dash light and passenger light were malfunctioning as initially described above. Took vehicle into dealership on 9/8/16 for same problem. Dealership did a pods reset, a recalibration as I understand it. Airbag dash light and passenger light worked for 24 hours before they malfunctioned again as initially described above. Further communication with dealership has been to inform me that the "OCS mat is $2473. 50 plus $312. 50 for install. That's the whole seat. Hyundai does not offer it separate. " this is a known problem with the airbag system. This is not my bill to foot, it's Hyundai's. In the meantime, I don't know if I have airbag protection.

51 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 08/01/2016

Air bag light is always on. Dealership found code b1495. There was a recall for this part , for this year on other Hyundai models. Dealership told me it is the same "belt tension sensor unit" on all these models. Why is not the sante fe also included in the NHTSA recall number 09v-497? thank you.

52 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 07/10/2016

One morning the air bag light came on. We have had the car 18 months with a new car warranty because of mileage 72,000 when we bought it. Took to dealer and it was a bad clock spring which controls the air bag. If it returns says the air bag needs to be replaced $450 and not covered under bumper bumper warranty . Car was in the garage. Did not bump anything, no accident.

53 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 05/03/2016

Takata recall. Just prior to a Hyundai recall in 5/3/16 for a defective gas tank, my "air bag" light went off. Let me back track . In 5/16, my car began leaking gas underneath. So badly, that one day while passing the fire/police station in norfolk, MA the fire chief and his crew began pursuing me. Stopping me in my driveway, I was told about the leak and was told I would have to surrender my car, it was a "safety hazard to (all). " I presented a aaa membership card. The chief himself called and arranged a tow to a local repair shop. After 2 days, I received a letter from Hyundai corporation stating that my "gas tank was faulty" and was subject to a "recall". Imagine the timing on that? the national office of Hyundai sounded just great on the phone. But when my mechanic said he would not touch the car for fear of complicating the warranty, no one including Hyundai would send anyone to tow the car. At my personal peril, I drove to the nearest dealership. As I approached the reception area, all remaining gas gushed out of my car. I was given a beautiful current Hyundai to drive as a loaner car; I needed that car for 2 months. When the dealership called to tell me my car was "ready", their advisor issued 2 pages of problems allegedly existing and tried to sell me a new car. I have since had someone else look at my car; none of those problems exist. When I picked up my car from the dealer, I also asked their advisor "why Hyundai hadn't fixed the air bag light?" over the 2 mths they had my car. I was told that "Hyundai didn't use takata air bags. " however, numerous friends of mine driving other models of Hyundai have received recalls citing the "takata airbag recall. " my passenger air bag is defective. The dealer told me "the bag alone would cost $800. Buy a new car!" what is going on here?.

56 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 03/11/2016

I purchased this vehicle from used dealer in March 4,2016 despite not wanting to but had little choice after dealer sold the car I put money down on that day for cash while I wad retrieving the last document she sent ne home for when,I returbedvmy car was gone and the car in stuck in now is this Hyundai with a very shaky front end that rattles and literally skips off the road into the shoulder if in not very careful ,my mechanic days its the strut on driver side ,additionally the air bag light stays onbat all times and I just failed a safety inspection foe this vehicle and can not be allowed to drive fir lyft or number until its repaired I already had to fix brake lights tires battery and other safety issues on this car in addition to 1400 in air conditioning system estimates to,learn it was merely a electrical connection to the compressor as it appears to be the case fir dozens of others with no cold air on this car model see axil adaddicrepair comments on 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe ac blowing hot air. So im very upset Hyundai will not even look to see why my air bag light is on despite a known, issue with air bags and it being recalled . My VIN number doesn't show a recall open however I feel as long as I am driving it and the issues remains unresolved. I am at serious risk if the air bag is defective or the fact it remains on all the tine and when there's a passenger in the front seat the passenger bag off light appears.

65 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 06/12/2015

Hyundai safety recall campaign no. 103: in relation to the above recall, my vehicle did not qualify due to it being manufactured on 2 June 2008. My clock spring for the driver's air bag has become inoperable as indicated by the air bag light illumination and dealer's diagnosis. The dealer states since there in no recall, I must pay for this part and the diagnosis because I have surpassed the 5yr/60k warranty. This is a safety issue and I am surprised it is not covered for free. As seen with the above recall campaign, I was a few months shy of having it replaced for free regardless of mileage. Is there a way to have my vehicle qualify for the recall?.

66 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 04/01/2015

My red air bag light has been on for about 2 months. I took it to the Hyundai dealership and they wanted $1500. My issue is I did nothing to cause the air bag malfunction so why should I pay this extremely high cost. (I'm retired) I also spoke with the Hyundai regional manager and they offered me $200. This is a safety hazard and I want Hyundai to fix this!!! I took my car in for the air bag recall in 2012, so something continues to be wrong with the air bag system.

68 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 01/04/2015

The airbag light is constantly on. We took it to the Hyundai service dealer and they told us that it is a sensor that is in the seat belt of the passenger seat. It is located on the buckle and that this part is about $500. I've heard that this is a common issue for this car. I'm very concerned because the mechanic told me that at this point the airbag won't deploy in case of an accident.

70 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Airbag light is always on, as well as my check engine light. All doors do not always lock on their own, pushing lock button on keychain twice does not sound the beep to ensure doors locked, car alarm goes off randomly, fuel gauge does not work. All of these have been recalled by Hyundai but for some reason, my 2007 with less than 90,000 miles is not covered.
