2018 Hyundai Sonata was in motion, with a speed of approximately 20 miles per hour, when a vehicle in front of the Hyundai Sonata stopped suddenly and the 2018 Hyundai Sonata rear ended the other vehicle. The 2018 Hyundai Sonata's airbags did not deploy. Days prior to the motor vehicle accident, the the owner discovered the driver's side seatbelt would not retract to create tension after initial application to secure seatbelt however, tension of the seatbelt was identified with application of the brakes, while leaning forward, and while 2018 Hyundai Sonata was in motion. Concern is the fact the airbag did not deploy appropriately during a front end collision while in motion at approximately 20 miles per hour; possibly related to NHTSA action number ea19001, April 19, 2019, regarding the air bag acu electrical overstress that is currently open and under investigation. The airbag indicator light is on in my vehicle and will not shut off. I took the vehicle to see about the service light indicator, but they will not service this indicator light. This is a safety issue if the airbag will not deploy with this light on!.
My airbag light is on and also it says airbag off. This came on sept. 2nd 2020 approximately 10:00am while driving to the grocery store a few miles from my house. It has remained on ever since that date and time. I don't feel safe. If something happens my airbag will not deploy. This is dangerous and I feel it is a default of the manufacturer Hyundai. This light came on for no reason. This occurred on a city street.
My roommate got into a t bone type accident she was going at least 25mph and the air bag did not deploy but it hit hard enough to rip the core support off, we have pictures. She did not take the ambulance but she's will probably go to the er later.

While traveling in one direction, an oncoming vehicle attempted to u-turn in an intersection with no traffic lights or stop signs. They hit my car in the front driver's side, causing enough damage for the vehicle to be towed away and totaled. In this crash the airbags did not deploy. There was no previous indication that the airbags were faulty, no recall, and the vehicle was brand new at time of purchase 7 months prior to the incident. Luckily, I was not injured although my hand did hit the steering wheel or window (or something in that vicinity), it was too quick to really realize what specifically I hit.

I was involved in a major accident on 11-13-18 involving someone rear ending me from behind. I was driving down the street with traffic when I was hit , I ended up hitting the car in front of me and so on. It ended up being a 4 car collision and my air bags did not deploy ! causing my face to smash against the steering wheel . Now I have personal injuries involving my back and neck. I do not think I wasn't informed in a timely matter of the recall camp 174. This could have been much worse. Please advise.
I have airbag sign on on my car dashboard. When I checked it with car code reader, the number I got is b1448. Because of this airbag sign if my car will crash in future, airbag will not be deployed.

This started in July 2018. Airbag light on. Took to dealer scanned for error for front impact sensor. Rescanned to repair and no error code so reset light. Drove less than 5 miles and light back on. Took again to dealer March 2019. Scanned for error front impact sensor. Ordered part and replaced so far have over $400 invested. Next day returned to dealer as light back on. Rescanned need to replacesrscm airbag module assembly at $779 to fix maybe. Frustrated contacted Hyundai opened case 15629286. Basically was told out of warranty so they can do nothing, take up with dealer. So since then afraid to transport front passenger since was told that airbag may not deploy in a crash. I find it difficult to believe that Hyundai will not stand behind their product with all the bad press and recalls regarding airbag issues. I have diligently kept up with the numerous recalls on this car.

Takata recall. . . I received a urgent recall notice about the driver side airbag not deploying in an accident. I made many calls to my dealership and to Hyundai corporate offices and all I am told is "there is no remedy yet". This is unacceptable. I believe that Hyundai should offer car rentals than to have customer's drive in a vehicle with an unsafe driver's side airbag!.
