The airbag light on the dashboard cluster is illuminated, with the passenger side airbag off is not. The passenger seat belt warning light in the dash center blinks to warn no seatbelt is fastened, despite no passenger in place, and the seat empty. According to a scan tool the code b1448 is reported (occupant classification passenger sensor mat defect). There is another airbag recall for the same part, but is not being reported as affecting this VIN. The light simply turned on one day after starting in a driveway.
Recently my airbag warning light comes on then after 6 seconds goes off like it should then comes back on and remains on. Nothing has change with the vehicle. I am looking to Hyundai to fix this malfunction on a recall. Is there a recall on this problem?.

About 2+ months ago, I had my car serviced for brakes, oil change, and filters. Within a day or two I noticed a crack on my dashboard near the airbag passenger unit. Thinking it was florida heat related, I paid it no attention. During this covid pandemic I now see that the other side of the passenger airbag notation on the dashboard is cracked as well, and the last time my husband and I ran an errand, the airbag warning light went on. Now I'm afraid to use the car to any extent except around town for short errands and was wondering what I should do. The recall number 174 shows no open recalls on this issue. . . However. . . . All receipts I have since I've owned this vehicle do not show it having been repaired. I see that the initial report of the recall (not remedy) was incorporated into the seat belt issue, however, the remedy notice is the one I have no record of having been repaired. The dealer has recommended other work be done on the vehicle each time I've brought it in for a recall item (??)!.

Red airbag warning light is on. Passenger air bag light always off, even if seat is empty. Red passenger seatbelt light always flashing until seat belt is latched, even if there is no one sitting in seat. This is while vehicle is in motion. Received b1448 error code. Dealer says VIN isn't in the recall. I have called 2 local Hyundai dealers and Hyundai corporate. Same answer.
The red airbag warning light came back on again and stayed on at all speeds and when parked. We have completed all previous recalls reference the airbags and I am beginning to believe this vehicle is not a top rated safe vehicle but is a flawed vehicle unsafe at any speed.
The srs airbag warning light has come on and stays on. I don't know if it's a warning on airbag deployment, seat belt function, both sides of the car or one. The Hyundai dealership I bought the car from cannot fit me in to inspect for a couple months and I don't want to drive the car if it's dangerous.
Air bag warning light wii not go off.

Takata recall, my vehicle was in motion when my airbag warning light came on 3 week ago while driving on city street and have not come off since then. I have also looked at the car history and have noticed 14 recalls on this vehicle including the airbags. While in motion, my doors unlock by themselves. Lastly, the transmission shift gear sometimes disappear from the dashboard as well as the shift gear which in most case the car wouldnt start or jerks when it disappear while in motion.
The airbags have been disabled for an unknown reason. The warning light will not turn off. The car has not been involved in an accident. This began in approximately of June 2019 and the car had approximately 110,000 miles. Another issue is the seat belt locking mechanism does not latch properly to secure the seat belt. It usually requires multiple efforts to be secured. Additionally, the seat belt does not retract properly either. That also takes several efforts to get it retracted. This began when the car had approximately 32,000 miles on it. I had an extended warranty on the vehicle and due to personal circumstances, was unable to bring it to the dealer until the car had approximately 37,000 miles. The dealer refused to address the issue under the warranty. The first issue occurs when the car is started and the airbag light stays on until the car is turned off. The seat belt issue occurs when putting the seat belt on and taking it off.
takata recall my vehicle was in motion when my air bag warning light came on may 30th 2019 and have not come off since then. I've also looked at the car history and have noticed 33 recalls on this vehicle including the airbags.

I was driving on the freeway at 70 mph when I first noticed the red air bag light. I asked my passenger to read about this in my user manual while driving.

The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign numbers: 08v161000 (air bags), the manufacturer had issued 1 TSB on the air bag system and the contact wanted to determine if the failure was related to the recall campaign to determine a permanent fix to repair the vehicle. I received a recall notice from Hyundai that there was a problem with the airbag being in danger of "electrical overstress" causing operation failure. The letter said they were working on a fix. Prior to receiving the letter for the fix, my airbag warning light came on while I was driving. I called mike brown Hyundai (granbury, TX) and they said they could do the warranty work. I took my car in and they said they did the recall work. However my airbag warning light is still on. I feel that my airbag overheated prior the recall work that is supposed to prevent it. The dealer wanted to charge me for a diagnosis and Hyundai consumer affairs would not offer assistance. I believe my airbag system has a catastrophic failure and is unsafe.
Airbag warning light stays on.

The airbag warning light illuminated as a normal part of startup but is no longer shutting off; remaining illuminated until the vehicle is shut off. A trip to the dealer (edwards Hyundai in council bluffs, IA in July, 2018) resulting in them wanting to charge a $170 diagnostic fee despite the current recall on airbags for my vehicle. The vehicle has approx. 103k miles on it at the time of airbag indicator light remaining illuminated.
Hyundai recall / Sonata 2011 June 2018 : no remedy has still be announced , am still on "stand by" for a " possible remedy". Was recommended to continue my safety recalled car by Hyundai consumer affairs , by brandon r. In huntington beach. And also andrew in corporate. After patiently waiting and requesting a loaner vehicle and manufactures refund, ive been directed to corporate to wait for this . We cannot just walk into a dealership and request a loaner vehicle. After waiting 2 months still no remedy, I am legally obligated to a refund or replacement which has still not implemented. After emailing the director of Hyundais manufactures, jim trainor says he will try and help me due to the severity of my situation and relaying multiple reports of my model catching fire (non-collision) after denying my request for a refund and/or replacement in result of a loaner vehicle since no remedy has been found long after the notice described one by April 2018. This can simply be resolved if matters were taken seriously as we are told. . The manufactuers get away with too much. Instead of being greedy. . My vehicle will be in stationary and have a airbag warning light on. Electrical safety and airbag saftey make this vehicle unfit to drive. I am demanding a refund and replacement .
