Trunk Lid Problems of Hyundai Sonata

Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the trunk lid open independently without warnings. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 8,000. Pm.

My 2008 Hyundai Sonata was parked in my driveway on November 24, 2013 at around 11 am. I opened my trunk with the remote key and the trunk opened up so fast, the hinge tops on both sides that support and guide the trunk lid broke off at the top. Just disintegrated. These are defectively manufactured plastic caps/covers on the two hydraulic hinges.

I was getting things out of the trunk of the car, with the lid fully up. The trunk lid spontaneously tried to close, and was stopped by my face, causing lacerations.

Trunk lid will open when vehicle is sitting in still and the keys are removed from the vehicle and are laying stationary. This has happened on my vehicle numerous times over the last six months.

Consumer was traveling about35mph on a street and another vehicle came to a suddenly stop. When consumer looked up he had hit other vehicle from behind. Upon impact, dual airbags didn't deploy, consumer states that airbag light came on 3 times prior to accident and now twice after. Consumer hears rattle from trunk. Sunroof lining loose. Gas pedal vibrates while driving. When riding over bumps, there is a rattle in the right rear of the vehicle.

Vehicle has been to dealer 5 times for stalling, recall on stalling performed November 2000. Dealer cannot remedy problem. The vehicle stalls intermnittently at stop sign, red lights, low speed driving, while backing out and on highways, dealer has attempted to fix this problem several times however has not been successful, even with recall 00v259001 repair the vehicle is not fixed, dealer has also replaced the air flow sensor connection, purge valve (on 6 occasions), tps sensor and extension, and other sensor assemblies. Lumbar support would not hold, dealer replaced. Trunk would not stay open on incline.
