1 Vehicle Overheat problem of the 2013 Hyundai Sonata

Failure Date: 09/04/2020

Driving my car 2013 Hyundai Sonata from nyc to ohio, car overheated and shut down on interstate 80 west bound police mandated a tow to nearby mechanic where they said my thermostat along with thermostat housing was fried up. It was replaced only to 3 months later car overheated again, along with gas smells in the air vents, and stalling as well as total engine power loss. However, couple months later, recall 189 was issued but didn't resolve overheating issue, in fact made the car reacted more negatively. One more month later I was notified of Hyundai theta engine class action law suit settlement and pursued nearby dealership who said they would diagnose it, which showed 7 coders showing misfire and one for battery faulty and one for the gas rail and pipes. My dealership didn't notify Hyundai that I mentioned my car had been stalling, shutting itself down a few times and Hyundai denied my claim for repairs under this settlement which is a lifetime warranty on the engine. There is extremely something faulty with the gas piping on this engine.

3 Vehicle Overheat problem of the 2012 Hyundai Sonata

Failure Date: 04/07/2017

I was not involved in an accident, but this is the second time that my engine has failed, the first was February 2016, the dealership had my car for more than three months. Now a part inside of the engine that was replaced has failed. The car is over heating. Hyunadi would not paid for a rental car the dealer gave me one. Third, Hyundai wanted the dealer to send pictures of the engine, then send pictures of the oil mixing with the anit freeze liquid. I called Hyundai and spoke to mr. Chris lowe at the eastern regional Hyundai office he assure me that he would call the dealership on Wednesday of last week he did not and I had to call him about my car. He was not helpful. I owe a great deal on this car and I can not afford to pay 800. 00 a month for a need car which I did not want. I would like to have a used 2017 with mileage under 12, 000. No accidents. I am very disappointed in the response and poor customer service that I have received from Hyundai. The engine was provided by Hyundai and they should help me with the car or buy it back and so I can get into a different car without the engine problems.

4 Vehicle Overheat problem of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Failure Date: 01/14/2014

While driving on the grand central parkway going 50 mph the car suddenly lost all power and stalled. The engine had seized due to loss of oil. There had been no oil warning light. Car had been serviced regularly since purchase. Car was towed to dealer. Dealer informed us that short block needed to be replaced & work was done. We have tried to find an oil warning light on the a instrument cluster and have had no luck so we are not confident this won't happen again, creating another unsafe situation the car did not feel right while we drove it. At one point, about a month or so later, it stalled out. We called Hyundai for a tow but the car eventually started. A week later the car overheated and we brought it to a service station & checked the coolant. It was low & so we added coolant. We also checked the oil & found it down by one quart. (this was about 2 thousand miles after the short block was replaced). Car continued to overheat in traffic. We took the car to Hyundai for service where they discovered that the fan was not working. We asked if it was normal for the car to stall while on the road if it overheats, & we're told yes it was normal. We consider this to be a serious issue with this car. We have filed a complaint and received an incident number but have not received any response from corporate. We do not feel safe in this car or transporting our grandchildren or anyone else. Please contact us a. S. A. P. Thank you for your quick reply to our concerns.
