The engine auto-off system kicks in too fast after stopping the vehicle creating a hazard that other vehicle may crash with my car as the engine start again is too delayed in my car after releasing the brake pedal.
This call actively has a recall on engine rods any Hyundai and some kia models ranging from 2011 all the way until 2022. They are known for having a faulty motor with active oil consumption and are currently facing several lawsuits and my car is one of these cars facing this issue however, the manufacturer doesn’t want to fully create a recall on the motor claims that are causing this rapid oil consumption issue I would like this to be investigated as well as it be investigative why you don’t already have their current active recall listed on your website . But if your website was correct and listed the engine, roddery call, and if my engine rod were to blow, then they would actually address this issue however, some people are getting this issue addressed under their manufacturer warranty however it is becoming extremely difficult because they want us to pay out-of-pocket for a pointless test as newer vehicles should not be burning oil with no active problems. Clearly, the states there is a problem which there is as of all the active lawsuits.

Our Tucson was stolen in charlotte, nc on [xxx]. The pax rear window was broken and the thieves broke open the steering column to start the car. It appears they used the well-known "tik-tok" method. I have record that our Tucson had the "software update" installed, at a local dealership, a year ago. This update (which should've been a recall) was supposed to address this issue. Despite this update, the car was stolen in less than 2 minutes (I have ring camera pictures with timestamps). I have doubts now that the dealership actually did the update. Part of the update includes a specific window sticker that is to be applied to the driver's door window. That decal is missing. There is no evidence that it was ever there (I have pictures). The car was recovered but cannot be driven. It must be towed due to the damage. Another concern is the engine and drive train. Criminals were out joy riding in our stolen car on an almost full tank of gas. Because the car cannot be driven, I don't know if there is any damage to any part(s) of the drive train. We are now waiting for our insurance company to arrange to have the car repaired. I am very concerned now about the long term viability and reliability of this car. Not sure what failed. At around 8:30 am on a sunny clear day the driver was maneuvering slowly up a ramp between first and second floors of a parking garage at the college campus where the driver works. Driver paused the vehicle and slowly turned to the right to park in an open spot about halfway up the ramp. There was a large concrete pillar to the right of the parking spot and a low steel cable wall at the end of the parking space along the inner structure of the garage. While turning into the space, the driver described suddenly feeling "a loss of control of the vehicle" wherein it "felt like it was in neutral and wouldn't stop". The car hit the wall with extreme force, enough for resulting in minor injuries, damaging the frond end and a total loss to the vehicle. The force was enough to rebound the car back approximately 30 feet from the wall after impact. No help or warnings from the collision detection mechanisms was apparent. In a single prior time during the tenure of ownership (approximately 6 months) the collision detection system had intervened and manually stopped the vehicle on its own due to a car that had erroneously driven in front of the vehicle too closely. The car's lane assist successfully kept itself in lanes on most occasions. Several software related notices on the car dash had been reported during the tenure of ownership and in no case was the dealership able to figure out what was wrong in any of the scenarios, one of the software notices on the dash did end up just "going away" after some time.
Consider taking a break (coffee cup icon) continues to notify even if vehicle is correctly in lane. Major distraction, have to constantly check instrument cluster. Even with lane assist off, issue still continues. Hyundai needs to upgrade software. On 2025 tuscon sel model no way to turn notification off. On a 6 hour trip, notification went off every 4-5 minutes on interstate driving.
The car has had a check engine light on for a week. It sometimes jolts forward when pressing on the accelerator and it does it all of a sudden. Took it to the Hyundai dealership they say it’s due to the egr valve and sub harness.

While driving, my entire dashboard lit up with every warning sound and symbol for the car. It would cycle through collision, airbags, braking, all of it. Luckily I was able to drive to a safe place. I let the car sit overnight and the alarms stopped. Took it to service and they could not recreate it and no codes showed up. Second time it happened, the warning sounds and lights didn’t stop. The car would jerk when I tried to put it in drive, so I had it towed to dealership. They have video and photos of it. After 2 weeks, they said it was fixed-a pin in a connector was bent. Had car for 3 days and it happened again. Had it towed again. They have had their ‘senior’ techs looking at it, and none can figure it out. There are reddit posts with this same issue, as well as Hyundai group sites.
Driving on the freeway on 5/18/2025 my sunroof completely shattered. I was going about 70 mph and the sunroof was closed. It was not a hot day, approx. 73 degrees. The noise was so loud, as if a gun shot went off next to me. Nothing hit it, nothing around us, nothing was hit on my part. As a matter of fact I was driving in the toll lanes so really no other cars were around me. It came out of nowhere. I called the local Hyundai dealer and drove straight there. This was on a Sunday afternoon. Monday morning the service dept called and said it would be a few days before they have any answers. On Tuesday 5/20/25 the service guy called back with answers saying they have no idea why it happened, they will not cover it, something must have hit it and it will be $4000-$8500 and take 3-4 weeks to fix. He suggests I call my insurance company to file a claim! my car is a 2022 Hyundai tuscan limited with 43,000 miles, I purchased it brand new and have used my sunroof maybe a hand full of times. As you can see in the photo the glass blew out, not in, so nothing hit it to cause this to happen.
The vehicle (a new 2025 Hyundai tuscon) suffered a shifter system malfunction. A message came up on the electronic dashboard "shifter system malfunction - service immediately" and the car was immobile. It could not be moved (it was stuck in reverse) nor could it be shifted into neutral to be pushed out of the roadway. This was an immediate hazard. The car needed to be towed to the dealer. Base on internet search, this is a known and not infrequent issue on Hyundai drive by wire (electronic shifting) vehicles. My car and I were in imminent danger because the car was not mobile. I had just backed out of a driveway and was stuck in the middle of the road. I am asking that NHTSA investigate this issue and if warranted require Hyundai to recall their vehicles to repair and/or replace the shift by wire system that is subject to such unexpected failure that puts vehicles and drivers at risk.
The window regulator for 3 of the 4 windows have failed, the first at approx. 80,000 miles, the second two at 113,000 miles. The windows were not being operated when the component failed and just randomly opened while driving and could not be closed via the switch. This caused distraction and difficulty driving as it was raining for the second incident. When observed, the plastic window regulators were degraded to the point that the plastic was a powder.
I have no rear trunk latch in my car or keys, its dangerous to only be able to open the trunk when u out of the car. . Thats definitely a safety issue, not to mention I work for the military and car searches happens and I cant open my trunk for them. . . I cant believe that thats not even a factor in the car when th oldest of model have trunk latches and key buttons, I dont understand it at all this need to be recalled.
The vehicle, does not have a trunk latch in the car or button or on the keys, this is totally not safe and should be a requirement for people who drive these cars, that is totally unacceptable. . This definitely need to be recalled. . I just got this car and was not mad aware by dealership.
One of the back doors will not open. Lock is stuck on. This is very dangerous if need to get a child strapped in/ out!!!! I googled this and see it's been a problem for many years on this make/model. High fees from dealers per door for their manufacturing defect! easy fit for a husband who will pull the door apart to fix the issue! which mine is not!.

This week I noticed my low tone horn on my vehicle had stopped working it was replaced under warranty by Hyundai at 41000 miles only a little while ago at 35000 miles both horns went out and I only learned this when I needed it to help avoid being hit and it wasn’t available Hyundai indicated they are aware of issue but are still replacing horns with the same original part that is prone to shorting out.
I have been having a number of things happen; 1- my car will lurch forward at times when I release the brake and hit the gas pedal. 2- the forward collision warning keeps coming on. 3- my heating and oil cooler hoses leaking as well as metal lines, all started to leak at the same time.
Excessive oil consumption which has then in turned caused my catalytic converter to go out.
Hyundai Tucson 2017 – known transmission defect ignored I own a 2017 Hyundai Tucson with the dual-clutch transmission. For months I experienced serious hesitation and sputtering when accelerating from a stop or low speed—a clear safety risk when trying to merge into traffic or cross intersections. On July 23, 2025, I dropped my vehicle at huffines Hyundai in plano. It sat there for nearly a month until August 21, when they finally admitted they could reproduce the issue. The problem matched exactly what Hyundai itself identified in its own service bulletins regarding this model’s transmission. Despite acknowledging it’s a known defect, Hyundai: refused to cover the repair, would not even reimburse my $200 third-party warranty deductible, has failed to issue a recall, leaving countless owners with the same unsafe problem. This is deplorable customer care. Hyundai and its dealerships know this defect exists, can reproduce it, and yet leave customers to pay out of pocket for a manufacturer-caused safety hazard. Buyers should beware—Hyundai is not standing behind its vehicles.

Unbearable sound while driving the car, causing ear numbness and safety concerns I purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle from the dealership with the expectation that it would be free from defects. On the very first day, during the drive back home, the vehicle began making a persistent rattling noise that was both distracting and concerning. The sound was so severe that it caused ear numbness within just a few minutes and made it difficult to concentrate on driving, raising serious safety concerns. Upon arriving home, I immediately contacted the dealership to report the issue but received no positive or constructive response. I reported this matter to Hyundai motor America customer service on April 1, 2025. It has now been almost five months, and they have been unable to resolve the issue and mentioning its cosmetics defect. Therefore, I am reaching out to you to address this safety concern and request that precautionary action be taken against Hyundai motor America, USA. The noise and vibration are so extreme that ear numbness occurs within 2–3 minutes of driving, making the vehicle unsafe to operate and safety concersn. Thanking you. Regards, ajay nagori 210-848-5254.
The sunroof on my Hyundai Tucson will not close. Seems to be a motor problem. I brought it to a mechanic and it will be a lot of money to fix. I have looked up if this is a common problem and it’s all over the internet. I am not sure if it should be a recall. Thank you.
The "consider taking a break" alert keeps alerting me constantly. There is no way to turn if off and it is very distracting. I am concerned it could result in an accident from the constant beeping and alerts.
In the middle of the screen, a notification to consider taking a break pops up and is very distracting and annoying even during normal driving condition. This feature makes the car less safe because it creates a distraction, especially on long road trips. There is no way to disable or turn the notification off on the vehicle.
- component that failed: the panoramic sunroof (glass side that opens) - safety risk: glass shattering above your head while driving, tons of glass falling below to the driver & passengers in the car | shock of a loud gunshot while driving - causes wrecks - vehicle inspected: currently at Hyundai, figuring out what to do - warning signs: abolsutley none - spontaneous explosion my husband, two friends, and I were traveling down the interstate at 55 mph, we heard a loud bang (like the sound of a gunshot)! our panoramic sunroof sunshade was pulled back with the sunroof closed. Instantly, the sunroof exploded into a million tiny pieces of glass that partially rained down on our heads and shoulders and all over the rest of our car. It was quite a startling sound. There was a hole about 10 inches across in the sunroof and more pieces were continuing to fall out. To protect our heads, I closed the sunshade. Then, we could hear pieces hitting the shade and glass falling behind us on the road. Once we got home, the hole became much larger.
The ac system on my vehicle stopped working with less than 55,000 miles on it. When replacing the compressor, condenser, all ac switches, and lines (the entire ac system besides the ecm), the ac is still not working. The compressor is not kicking on. I have an ecm on order, but myself, and all mechanics (including Hyundai certified mechanics) are all unsure why this would have happened on such a low mileage vehicle. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the experience and not having ac after spending thousands of dollars and time getting it fixed. Please advise ASAP. Attached is the original invoice stating that all that needed to be replaced was the condenser/compressor. I have more files from all of the other replacements provided if needed.

The fuel door actuator stopped working. This caused a safety issue because it left me stranded in the desert. I had no way of opening the fuel door to put gas in the vehicle. This model does not have a lever for emergency. The only way to gain access is to take pull the panel inside apart inside the trunk. I had to call my husband to help me. I was 110 miles away from him. This caused a very dangerous unsafe situation.
My a/c system has a strong mold/mildew smell. The dealership flushed the system and said a bunch of black mold came out. It has been 3 months and the issue is back. It can’t possibly be safe and healthy to be constantly breathing in mold spores. I have seen a ton of other owners complaining about the same issue. I definitely think the a/c drain design is faulty in some regard.

The contact owned a 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the contact and his family were asleep when they were woken up to a loud abnormal sound coming from the driveaway of the residence. The contact looked outside of the window and discovered that the entire vehicle, the garage door, and the roof was on fire. No warning lights was illuminated. The origin of the fire was unknown. The vehicle was unoccupied during the fire. The fire was extinguished by the fire department and a fire department report was filed. A police report was filed. The vehicle remained at the place of residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 48,456. .
While driving my 2024 Hyundai Tucson at highway speeds on a clear day with no surrounding traffic, I was startled by an extremely loud bang that sounded like an explosion. Pieces of shattered glass rained down inside the passenger cabin, creating a potentially hazardous situation. This incident was a traumatic experience. The sudden and unexpected event had the potential to cause serious injury to the driver, as well as increase the risk of a collision due to the shock and distraction it caused. Additionally, other pieces of shattered glass were propelled from the vehicle, posing a risk of injury or damage to other drivers on the road. Upon physical inspection, it was noted that the glass from the panoramic sunroof was bowed upwards, which suggests the explosion originated from within the sunroof and not an external factor such as road debris or a rock. The vehicle, which is less than a year old, is currently at the Hyundai dealership pending an investigation. Given the severity of the incident and the potential risks to driver and passenger safety, I strongly recommend that a recall be issued or a comprehensive investigation be initiated by the NHTSA to prevent further occurrences of such dangerous incidents. Safety must be a priority, and swift action is necessary to ensure that no other drivers or passengers are at risk of similar events.
Unknown there is a issue with paint on the car. The paint is white and is chipping on hood, top of car and back of car. The car looks terrible with a cheap paint job.
So in December of 2022 the vehicle above was recalled for service campaign 966 by Hyundai and was completed. In 2024 it had the same issues again and the knock sensor was replaced twice in 2024. We just purchased the vehicle in January 2025 and know are having the same issuse and code showing the knock sensor is having issues. We reported it to the dealer we purchased from long Hyundai of chattanooga and they aren't helping to resolve the issue. All they did before we bought it was say it had a weak battery and supposedly replaced the battery.
My car is experiencing trouble accelerating, making it difficult to drive. Every time I come to a complete stop at a stop sign, my car struggles to regain speed. This issue becomes particularly dangerous on the expressway, as I can’t accelerate at a decent speed to merge onto the expressway, which poses a risk to both me and other drivers.
Horns failing after being replaced by Hyundai. A kid was running and heading on a path in front of the SUV. Pushed the horn and another failure. Luckily the brakes work - the kid didn't stop. First attempt to fix: 14,612 miles - current miles at 2nd failure 17463.
The driver attention warning system goes off very often - every 10-15 minutes. The warning is startling and makes one take their eyes off the road to ascertain the cause of the warning. There is no voice message - just a series of beeps. According to the dealer the daw cannot be disabled by the owner.
